Chapter 375 A Tattoo

Susanna heard Vivian's words and didn't even blink; she almost wanted to laugh out loud.

She turned to Elaine and said, "Elaine, you picked these clothes yourself. You think DivineDynasty's selling knock-offs?"

Elaine let out a breath of relief and said, "Nova, you're spot on. Vivian doesn't know squat about fashion; it's hilarious."

Vivian, not bothered by the shade, kept going, "Elaine, since you're so sure, I'll get the fashion director to check if it's a high-quality fake or not."

Elaine shot back, "Who’s this fashion director you brought? Some kind of expert? Why should I trust her? Have any of you even been to a private couture show?"

Still not satisfied, Elaine added, "Vivian, do you know why Penelope got kicked out and Aunt Maud didn't care? It's 'cause the Sullivan Group's about to go under, and the company's getting bought out. Aunt Maud only cares about rich heirs for Aaron. Do you really think you're good enough for him with your status, position, or looks?"

Vivian's face twisted at that, "Elaine, you're just a leech in the Abbott family, clinging on and calling yourself Ms. Jones. It's pathetic. If the Abbott family didn't pity you and your mom, you'd still be begging on the streets!"

"Vivian!"

Elaine's voice shot up, and she lunged at Vivian, grabbing her hair. "You lowlife, who do you think you are to talk to me like that?"

Vivian, not backing down, snapped back, "What’s the matter? Hit a nerve? Is that why you're such a spineless suck-up to someone like Susanna?"

"Vivian, I'm gonna kill you!"

Elaine, fuming and humiliated, shoved Vivian down.

But Vivian wasn't having it; she grabbed Elaine's clothes, and the two of them tumbled down the stairs together.

Susanna had been watching the whole mess unfold. She'd been stirring the pot between Elaine and Vivian for this exact moment.

Being the bad guy felt kinda good.

She looked down at Elaine and Vivian, who were now sprawled at the bottom of the stairs, and a scene flashed in her mind. It felt oddly familiar.

Had something like this happened before in the Abbott family?

Susanna rubbed her temples, feeling like something was trying to break through the fog in her mind.

Elaine got up, her shoes busted, and limped to her feet. Seeing her broken shoes, she yelled at Vivian, "You broke my shoes! Pay up!"

Vivian, also bruised from the fall, glanced at Elaine's shoes. "Aren't you rich folks supposed to not care about stuff like that?"

Elaine, nearly losing it, stepped forward, ready to slap Vivian.

But Vivian wasn't dumb this time; she dodged, though she twisted her ankle and snapped her high heel in the process.

Vivian kicked off her shoes and glared at Elaine. "Try hitting me again."

"Vivian, you got guts now. Let's see what you can do to me!"

Elaine swung her high heel at Vivian, but this time Vivian didn't dodge. She took the hit straight on, and blood started trickling down her forehead.

"Elaine, what the hell are you doing?"

Aaron's icy voice cut through the chaos, followed by Maud and a bunch of rich ladies.

Susanna saw Aaron coming in and finally made her way down the stairs, looking at him. "There's a family doctor here. If it's not too bad, we can have them patch her up."

Maud rushed to Vivian. "Vivian, are you okay? Your head's bleeding like crazy." Then she turned to Elaine. "Elaine, have you lost her mind?"

Elaine snapped, "Aunt Maud, can't you see I'm hurt too? Vivian started it."

"Elaine, everyone knows your temper. Vivian's always put up with you. What made you go off on her like that?"

Maud glanced at Susanna as she spoke. Elaine had been hanging around her a lot lately, maybe she was pulling the strings.

Elaine was fuming. "What do you mean I have a bad attitude? You didn't see how cocky Vivian was earlier."

Vivian looked all innocent at Maud. "Aunt Maud, I'm fine. It was just a little spat with Elaine. It's all my fault; don't blame her."

Maud shot back, "Elaine, look at how forgiving Vivian is, and then look at yourself."

Elaine was about to cry from anger and turned to Susanna. "Nova, you saw it. Wasn't it Vivian who started it?"

Susanna nodded. "Yeah, but Elaine, they won't believe me."

Elaine, still pissed, looked at Aaron. "Aaron, did you hear Nova? Vivian started it this time!"

A dark look flashed in Vivian's eyes, and she quickly turned to Aaron. "Aaron, it was my fault. Blame me."

"Vivian, stop acting all innocent!" Elaine exploded.

Seeing Vivian's fake innocence, Susanna got why Elaine had been fooled by her before. She was pretty slick.

Maud saw the family doctor rushing over and quickly changed her tone. "The injured person is here. You gotta treat them fast to avoid any issues for the guests."

The private butler stood respectfully in front of Maud. "Don't worry, Mrs. Maud Abbott. Our medical team is top-notch, and we even have a sterile operating room here."

Maud was surprised. "An operating room? The facilities here are amazing!"

The private butler gave a professional smile. "Personalized service is what sets Velvet Sky Ballroom apart from other places."

Soon, the private butler had Vivian on a stretcher and taken away.

At that moment, Susanna noticed a tattoo on Vivian's ankle. It looked kinda familiar!

It felt like she'd seen it in a dream before.
