Chapter 42 Who Do You Want to Allure?
Susanna hesitated for a moment before answering the call, saying, "Hello, who is this?"
"Miss Miller, hello. I am Mr. Abbott's lawyer, specifically dealing with the divorce between the two of you. Would you have time to meet and discuss?"
Upon hearing these words, Susanna lowered her eyes and said, "Okay."
After what happened yesterday, she thought Aaron wouldn't show up for the appointment today, so she didn't really think much of it.
She hung up the phone and gently touched her small belly. Anyway, she had already signed the divorce agreement, so why bother with all this?
Aaron and her were simply not from the same world.
Susanna went to a cafe as agreed and met the lawyer. "Hello, what do you need me to cooperate with?"
"Well, it's about the property division written in the divorce agreement. Mr. Abbott has left you with three properties, one commercial shop, a Maserati, as well as high-quality stocks and cash totaling ten million dollars. Take a look and if there are no issues, sign it. I will proceed with the property transfer formalities."
Susanna glanced at the assets. When she signed the documents, she didn't bother to look at them carefully, let alone pay attention to how much wealth there was.
After all, when they got married, Maud made her sign a prenuptial agreement. According to the agreement, she couldn't take any of Aaron's assets in case of a divorce.
But she didn't expect Aaron to be so generous. Just the value of those three properties alone was over a billion.
Susanna handed the documents back and said, "I don't want these."
She didn't need these things; it felt like charity. If she accepted them, would it mean admitting that she had only married for money?
The lawyer was stunned, as if he hadn't heard correctly. "Miss Miller, are you sure you don't want them? According to the prenuptial agreement, Mr. Abbott doesn't have to give you any assets. But he did. I suggest you think it through carefully."
The lawyer had dealt with so many divorce cases and had seen couples fighting over property, but he had never seen anyone refuse it unless they had ulterior motives.
Upon hearing the lawyer's words, Susanna smiled and said, "I don't want any of these. Just tell Aaron that."
After speaking, she stood up, and a cold voice came from behind her. "If you have something to say, say it to my face."
Aaron couldn't help but stand up from the back seat. He had thought that Susanna would gladly accept these assets, but he didn't expect her to refuse them.
Or was it that he hadn't given her enough, unable to match what Zachary had given her?
He had given her so many properties, but they weren't as valuable as that little house?
Susanna hadn't expected Aaron to be here as well, and her expression was somewhat unpleasant. "I already made it clear earlier."
He approached her, standing in front of her. "Susanna, if you chose to want nothing, then why did you sign the divorce agreement in the first place? Since you signed it, why are you acting high and mighty now, saying you don't need anything? Haven't you gotten tired of seducing me yet?"
Susanna couldn't help but find it ridiculous.
She raised her head, her gaze calm. "Think what you want."
She wanted to leave, but he grabbed her arm. "What's wrong? Are you unable to explain because I hit the mark?"
Susanna couldn't take it anymore and said, "Mr. Abbott, you keep accusing me of seducing you. Where's the evidence?"
"This is the evidence."
The man took out a small white bottle from his pocket, and when Susanna saw the familiar folic acid bottle, her expression changed.
So, the bottle did fall in the marital villa, and he found it.
No wonder he asked her yesterday if she was pregnant, probably thinking that she wanted a divorce because she was pregnant with someone else's child.
Susanna calmed down. Aaron probably didn't know about her pregnancy.
After all, when Maud saw her at the hospital last time, she just thought she was preparing for pregnancy and didn't suspect that she was pregnant at all.
But this man can do anything, and she is worried that she will be exposed in front of him.
Aaron placed the folic acid bottle on the table and stared at her, "How do you explain this?"
Susanna swallowed and her brain raced, "Who said I was preparing for pregnancy? The stuff in this bottle is not folic acid, it's vitamins."
"Susanna, you thought about it for so long and came up with such a casual excuse?"
"If you don't believe me, you can ask the doctor."
Aaron hesitated and threw the bottle to Assistant Lee, then sat beside her, "Okay, let's figure this out today."
Susanna was trapped in the seat and couldn't go anywhere.
She simply sat down as well, since the bottle originally contained vitamins, there was no need to worry at all.
Soon, Assistant Lee returned with the bottle, "Boss, it's indeed vitamins in here, not folic acid."
Now it was Aaron's turn to have an unpleasant expression on his face, it was really vitamins.
He looked at the bottle, "Susanna, what are you trying to do? Pretending to take folic acid to prepare for pregnancy, who are you trying to deceive?"
Susanna didn't know what to say.
She took the bottle back, "Mr. Abbott, what I eat has nothing to do with you. "
Aaron's hand was empty and he squinted his eyes, "Susanna, how dare you!"
"Mr. Abbott, please move aside."
Susanna didn't want to waste time with him here. The previous Aaron was straightforward and never procrastinated, how did he become so strange now?
"Hold on, we haven't finished talking yet."
Aaron lifted his leg and blocked her way, "Why did you use a folic acid bottle to hold vitamins?"
"Is it not allowed to pretend to be pregnant?"
Susanna saw him blocking her path and tried to climb over the tea table.
Aaron saw her posture and guessed what she was trying to do. However, with the dress she was wearing today, when she lifted her leg, the knee-length skirt moved up to her thigh, revealing a slender and eye-catching leg.
Aaron's eyelid twitched as he watched, and he reached out to hold her skirt, angrily saying, "Susanna, get down!"
Susanna's temper also flared up. They were already divorced, why should she continue to endure!
"No, you move aside!"
But the man's hand still held onto her leg, and the warmth of his palm transmitted to her skin.
Susanna's expression became a bit unnatural, "Take your hand off."
Aaron reached out his hands, trapping Susanna on the table and leaned over her, saying, "Susanna, I never thought you would be so open, so fond of being watched."
Susanna also realized the fact that she might expose herself and stopped struggling further.
She was so angry just now that she wanted to leave the table at all costs, but he intentionally blocked her way.
She lowered her eyelids and saw his throat, the two of them were very close, as if the air around her was completely engulfed by him, making it difficult for her to breathe.
