Chapter 57 Save the Day
A cold and deep voice came, breaking the tension in the office.
Susanna turned her head and saw Aaron standing at the doorway, his tall and handsome figure blocking the light from outside. Her heart skipped a beat, which was rare.
She saw Aaron walking in from outside, exuding an imposing aura.
The principal quickly said, "Mr. Abbott, why are you here?"
"I came to explain."
Aaron's gaze was heavy, "The car in the photo is mine."
The principal's expression froze on his face, unable to recover for a while. He didn't expect that the car actually belonged to Aaron.
The principal stammered, "Mr. Abbott, we are also investigating this matter, we meant no harm."
The man sat on the nearby sofa, saying, "Well, you can continue your investigation."
When Susanna looked at the principal again, she handed over the evidence she had in her hand, saying, "This is the IP address of the person spreading rumors."
The principal finally took the evidence, coughed, and said, "We will investigate this thoroughly and will never tolerate any rumor-spreader."
After saying that, the principal nervously looked at Aaron, "What does Mr. Abbott think?"
Who would have thought that Susanna and Aaron had such a special relationship! No wonder Aaron personally showed up at the award ceremony a few days ago, it turned out to be because of Susanna.
Aaron stood up, looked down at her, and said, "Let's go."
Susanna followed him out of the principal's office and secretly glanced at him, saying, "Thank you."
"I just don't want this matter to escalate and reach my grandmother's ears."
A trace of self-derision flickered in Susanna's eyes, "I know."
She wouldn't think too much about it.
Aaron seemed a bit unnatural, and he awkwardly asked, "How did you obtain the IP address of the person who posted the thread?"
Susanna lowered her eyelids and said, "I asked a friend for help."
Aaron's gaze deepened. Is the friend she mentioned the Zachary?
The man felt uncomfortable and responded harshly, "I'm busy. If there's anything, contact my assistant."
She looked up in astonishment. What does he mean?
"Don't overthink it. If there's something you can't handle, let the assistant take care of it. It's better to avoid a big mess."
Susanna felt suffocated. She pretended to be relaxed and replied, "I know, there won't be such a thing happening again."
Aaron felt annoyed and quickly left the classroom.
The assistant who followed looked at her respectfully and said, "Madam, the boss knows about the situation here and is on his way."
Susanna smiled and didn't say anything.
She knew Aaron was warning her not to cause any trouble at this crucial moment, or else her grandmother would worry.
He came not for her, but for her grandmother.
She wouldn't make presumptions.
"Madam, you should have my contact information and can reach out to me anytime."
Assistant Lee quickly ran off after speaking.
Susanna returned to the study room.
She received inquiries from her brothers at home and calmly replied: [The matter has been resolved. Thanks to my Arthur's help.]
Arthur: [It's nothing. If there's any problem in the future, feel free to come to me.]
Susanna sent a cute emoji in response. It felt so good to have family by her side. She didn't have to handle things alone when faced with challenges.
Soon, the school forum post was taken down and a investigation result was released, clarifying that there was no insider information about her award.
The rumor-spreading class monitor faced disciplinary action from the school and had her graduate school admission revoked.
Her best friend Flandre came to see her and said, "I didn't expect the class monitor to be that kind of person. Clearly, you have no personal interest with her, but she couldn't stand to see you succeed and deliberately spread rumors to slander you. During the investigation, they found that the IP address had previously posted similar rumor-spreading posts, which is why the punishment was so severe. She deserves it!"
Susanna didn't sympathize with the class monitor. If someone wants to scheme against others, they should consider the consequences.
After the school turbulence was resolved, Susanna went directly to the hospital to visit Grandma Abbott after school.
After all, the surgery was scheduled for the weekend.
She arrived at the hospital and just stepped out of the elevator when she ran into Maud, who arrogantly said, "Susanna, you seem to be in a good mood. Do you think you can handle the school situation on your own? It's all thanks to the influence of the Abbotts."
Susanna's expression grew distant. "I can handle it on my own."
"Humph, don't give me this nonsense, Susanna. What kind of magic did you use on my son? He actually agreed to explain things at school for you, and he even refused to get engaged to Miss Jones for your sake. He insisted on finding another doctor to operate on Grandma, causing a delay in the surgery."
Susanna's face suddenly changed. "What do you mean?"
Why couldn't she understand it very well?
"What do you mean? Are you still pretending? Then let me tell you clearly. Erica's brother proposed a condition: Aaron must get engaged to Miss Jones before he agrees to do the surgery. But my son refused and secretly found another doctor to replace him."
Susanna's emotions became complicated. She couldn't believe this fact at all.
She paused before answering, "I didn't know about all this."
She had always thought that it was Erica's brother who would perform the surgery on Grandma Abbott.
Maud snorted, "Well, the doctor my son found had a car accident on the way here and broke his wrist, so he couldn't operate on Grandma. Now the surgery has been delayed. Susanna, Grandma has been so good to you. Are you willing to use her health to threaten my son?"
"I have never used Grandma to threaten Aaron."
"Very well, then you divorce Aaron right away and let my son get engaged to Erica. Let Erica's brother perform the surgery on Grandma."
Susanna's heart was in a mess. "I know what to do."
"You better know."
Maud finished speaking and left.
Susanna stood alone in place for a long time, her mind full of Maud's words.
She hadn't expected Aaron to reject Erica's brother's proposal. It shouldn't have been difficult for him.
After all, he and Erica were a perfect match.
Susanna adjusted her expression and walked into the hospital room. She saw the nurse shaking her head, indicating that Grandma had already fallen asleep.
She quietly stood by the old woman's side and lightly touched her hand, which was very cold.
She saw that Grandma Abbott had lost quite a bit of weight, and her overall condition was not good.
Susanna felt heartache, the surgery couldn't be delayed any longer.
She had also inquired about Grandma's surgery, and it was indeed as Maud had said. The surgery had been postponed because the main surgeon had gotten into a car accident, and they hadn't found a suitable replacement yet.
After leaving the hospital, Susanna made a decision.
When she returned home, she deliberately kept Taylor away and told Taylor to go to the hospital to visit Grandma.
Meanwhile, she went to the kitchen and prepared a meal.
When Aaron arrived and saw her coming out of the kitchen wearing an apron, holding familiar dishes in her hands, his gaze paused. He had been eating the food she cooked for three years.
But since signing the divorce agreement, she hasn't eaten it again.
He thought about the school's affairs. Did the woman want to thank him? Well, she has a conscience.
The two sat in the restaurant.
Aaron looked at these dishes and felt quite good: "No poison?"
Susanna barely squeezed out an expression: "Rest assured, it's all natural and pollution-free."
After eating a few bites, the man found that she hadn't touched her utensils, and raised an eyebrow: "Why aren't you eating?"
"I have something to say to you."
