Chapter 392 Do You Think You Can Still Get Away?
Susanna knew Aaron was sharp as a tack, so she shot him a look and said, "You really think I'd let Lillian tag along with me?"
"Susanna, seriously? You don't trust me? I've known who you are for ages, but I still promised to donate bone marrow to Lillian. And you? You've been scheming to take Lillian and bounce as soon as you got the bone marrow, right?"
Aaron had never been played like this by a woman before.
But Susanna had been stringing him along the whole time.
Susanna's red lips twisted into a cold smirk. "Mr. Abbott, since you're in the know, step aside."
Aaron grabbed her wrist. "You think you can just walk out now?"
"Aaron, are you stopping me 'cause you've fallen for me?"
Susanna looked up at him, her gaze cool, like she was staring at a stranger.
The air was dead silent.
Aaron held her tight, his palm warm, his expression a bit off. "Susanna, don't overthink it."
"Good, I can sleep easy knowing you didn't fall for me."
Susanna yanked her hand back, her eyebrows arching coldly. "Edward's waiting for me to come home for dinner. Mr. Abbott, take care. Goodbye!"
She turned and headed for the helicopter, her steps light, no hesitation.
But when she got in, she saw the driver and bodyguard had been detained.
She heard Aaron's footsteps behind her. "I told you, this time you can't just walk away."
Susanna turned back, not backing down. "Mr. Abbott, you think I'm still that poor woman you could push around? Need I remind you, I'm now the heir of the wealthy Jones family in Novaria? If you dare keep me here, believe it or not, my brothers will turn the Abbott family upside down by tomorrow."
"I believe it. Your brothers have hidden you well all these years, even fooled me."
"Aaron, since we split back then, what's with holding me here now? If you love me so much you can't help it, just say it, and I might think better of you!"
Aaron was fuming.
He cut to the chase, "Where's Lillian?"
"This is between us. Why drag Lillian into it?"
"But Lillian's my daughter too. Don't I have the right to ask?"
Susanna's hand clenched slowly. "When did I ever say Lillian is your daughter?"
"This can be cleared up easily. Just do a blood test with Lillian and me to see if there's a match."
Susanna's face turned icy. "Aaron, Lillian is mine and has nothing to do with the Abbott family."
"If it weren't for me, you think you could've had such a lovely daughter on your own?"
Susanna silently cursed Aaron for being shameless.
She sneered, "Anyway, Lillian's already left Lindwell on the luxury private jet I arranged. You can't catch up even if you try."
Aaron pressed his thin lips together. "Lillian isn't just yours. She's sick, and as her father, I have to be there for her."
"You wanna fight for custody?"
Aaron's eyes narrowed. "I didn't plan to, but since you wanna hide with Lillian, I gotta take back custody!"
"Aaron, you know who my brother is? A top lawyer in Novaria. You think you can take custody from the Jones family? No way."
Susanna had never worried about the custody issue!
Aaron's face darkened. "Susanna, Lillian came to Novaria to find her dad. Can you really let her grow up without one?"
That line hit Susanna right in the feels.
She sneered, "Your mom still thinks Lillian's a bad kid. And don't you have Ramond? Why do you care so much about Lillian?"
"I told you, Ramond ain't my son!"
"If he's not your kid, then whose is he? Aaron, you're seriously shameless!"
She tried to leave, but Aaron grabbed her and pulled her into his arms. He lowered his head and said hoarsely, "So you care about this, you're jealous?"
Susanna was fuming. She stomped on Aaron's foot hard and then turned around and kicked him right between the legs. "You're too much!"
Aaron groaned, doubling over, sweat beading on his forehead.
He looked up at the retreating Susanna and gritted his teeth. "Stop right there!"
Of course, Susanna didn't stop. She took the elevator and was ready to leave the hospital, but when she got outside, a red sports car screeched to a halt in front of her.
Susanna squinted slightly. This car looked kinda familiar.
Elaine stormed out of the car. "You lying bitch! How dare you con me with fake stuff!"
"You found out quick. Guess you're not as dumb as I thought."
Susanna didn't need to keep up appearances with Elaine anymore. The bone marrow was already sent away, and she had nothing to fear now.
Elaine's face turned pale with rage. She didn't expect Susanna to admit it so easily. On the way here, she still couldn't believe it was true and thought Susanna had also been duped.
Elaine angrily threw the counterfeit bag on the ground. "I have no beef with you. Why'd you use these fake goods to trick me?"
Susanna replied coolly, "You kept asking me for stuff, and all those luxury items added up to millions. You took them without shame, so I had to cut my losses. Didn't expect someone from the Abbott family to be so broke."
Vivian got out of the passenger seat and walked to Elaine's side. "Elaine, she was out to get you from the start. Now you see her true colors, right?"
Seeing Vivian, Susanna figured out how Elaine found out about the fake goods so fast.
Elaine was livid. Now everyone was mocking her for wearing fakes, and some were demanding refunds, threatening to sue if she didn't pay up.
Elaine glared at Susanna. "Don't think this is over. Half of the fake goods you gave me have been sold, and now they want refunds. You should give me the money!"
Susanna sneered, "Did I collect the money you got from selling the bags?"
Elaine looked embarrassed. "I collected it, and I've spent it all. If it weren't for you giving me fake goods, I wouldn't be chased for refunds now."
"You collected the money, so it has nothing to do with me."
"If you don't give me the money, I'll sue you for selling counterfeit goods!"
Susanna smirked, "I gave them to you as gifts, not to sell. If you're really not satisfied, go ahead and sue me."
Elaine was furious. "Stop right there! You can't leave! If you don't explain yourself today, you ain't going anywhere!"
Susanna looked at the two bodyguards who appeared in front of her, her eyes cold. "You sure you wanna stop me from leaving?"
The next second, she raised her hand slightly, and a group of black-clad bodyguards appeared around them.
The tall bodyguards surrounded Elaine and Vivian, glaring at them.
