Chapter 402 Just Ask If You Accept It?

Vivian freaked out, not sure if the nurse had ditched the bone marrow. If it was gone, would Susanna really go after Ramond?

Ramond was still in Susanna's grip!

Vivian begged Aaron, "Aaron, you swore you'd protect Ramond forever. You can't back out now."

Aaron's voice was icy. "I can't even keep my own daughter safe, let alone someone else's kid."

Seeing Aaron's firm stance, Vivian lost it. "Aunt Maud, you adore Ramond!"

Maud was shocked. "Aaron, did you just say Ramond isn't your kid? What's the deal?"

Vivian cut in, "Ramond's part of the Abbott family. Aaron said he'd treat Ramond like his own! What does it matter if he's blood or not?"

Maud was floored. She never thought Ramond wasn't Aaron's son!

Aaron's voice was cold. "I never said Ramond was my kid."

Susanna was a bit taken aback. So Maud always thought Ramond was Aaron's kid? She did too.

Looks like only Aaron and Vivian knew the truth; no one else had a clue.

But Susanna had bigger fish to fry than watching Vivian and Maud bicker.

She turned to her bodyguard, "Keep an eye on Vivian. Don't let her bolt."

With that, Susanna headed out. She needed to get to the hospital, pronto.

Aaron followed her. Finding the bone marrow was top priority.

Susanna had just hopped in her car when Aaron squeezed in too.

The roomy car suddenly felt cramped.

Susanna shot Aaron a look, "Don't you have your own ride?"

Her tone was sharp, 'cause this mess was all Aaron's fault.

Aaron ignored her frosty look and said, "Going together saves time."

Susanna knew he was full of it. One car or two, it didn't matter.

She stayed silent the whole ride, treating Aaron like he wasn't there.

After a bit, Aaron kept glancing at her and finally said, "This was my bad."

"I don't want your apology."

"Then what do you want?"

"I just want to find the bone marrow. I don't want to talk about anything else. But if it's really gone, don't stop me from getting revenge. I might hurt you by accident."

Aaron was quiet for a moment. "Do what you want with Vivian, but Ramond's innocent. He doesn't know what Vivian did."

Susanna scoffed, "Didn't Vivian do all this for Ramond? It's not my problem; he's not my kid."

Charles was still in the vacuum chamber, waiting for her to bring back the bone marrow to save his life.

Aaron paused and said, "Ramond isn't mine; actually, he is..."

"I don't care," Susanna cut him off. "I don't care whose kid Ramond is. It doesn't matter to me. Whether he's yours or not, I don't care."

Aaron looked at her seriously, his throat bobbing a bit. "Even if Ramond were my kid, you still wouldn't care?"

"I don't care. We're divorced. Whoever you have kids with is none of my business."

Susanna's tone was super calm, distant, and collected.

Seeing her so indifferent, Aaron yanked at his tie in frustration. Legally, she was right, but hearing her say it still stung.

The rest of the ride was silent, and the car sped to the hospital.

On the way, Susanna had already arranged for someone to find the nurse Vivian mentioned, making sure she couldn't bolt after hearing the news.

When Susanna and Aaron got to the hospital, they finally saw the nurse.

The nurse was already shaking with fear. She'd been grabbed by several bodyguards and locked in this room. She knew this was about the bone marrow. She shouldn't have risked it for that cash.

Susanna kicked the door open and stormed in with a menacing vibe.

She glared at the nurse and said, "If you wanna live, tell me where the bone marrow is."

Aaron added coldly, "You better not have trashed the bone marrow like Vivian told you."

The nurse quickly replied, "The bone marrow is still here. I didn't get rid of it."

Hearing this, Susanna let out a sigh of relief.

She walked up to the nurse and said gently, "Good. As long as the bone marrow's still here, we can work something out."

The nurse quickly said, "Even though Ms. Nguyen told me to dispose of it, I felt uneasy, so I secretly kept it. The bone marrow is well-preserved and in perfect condition."

"Good. Where is it now?"

"It's in the freezer in my office, in a box with my name on it."

Aaron immediately signaled the bodyguards to fetch the bone marrow.

Sure enough, the bodyguards soon found the perfectly preserved box.

The doctor checked it and said, "The bone marrow is well-preserved and can be used."

Hearing the doctor's words, Susanna finally felt a weight lift off her shoulders.

The nurse quickly pleaded, "I'm sorry. I did it because I needed money for my family's medical bills. I've been uneasy these past few days and didn't dare dispose of the bone marrow."

Susanna looked at the trembling nurse and said, "If you want me to let this slide, you have to agree to one condition."

The nurse quickly nodded and replied, "Anything you say, I'll do it."

"I will sue the person who ordered you to steal the bone marrow. I need you to testify. I will make sure they pay."

For Susanna, she couldn't let this go.

If it weren't for good luck, the bone marrow would have been destroyed.

Charles would have been left to die in the vacuum chamber!

If that happened, she would never forgive Maud and Vivian.

The nurse agreed without hesitation, as long as she could stay out of trouble.

The bodyguards quickly took the nurse away.

Susanna looked at the attending doctor and said, "Get this bone marrow to Novaria ASAP. This time, make sure to check carefully and ensure there are no mistakes."

The attending doctor quickly nodded. "Okay, I'll arrange it right away."

"Wait!"

Susanna turned her head, looking at Aaron with a wary expression. "What do you want now?"
