Chapter 129 Say Something Pleasant
Susanna gazed, stunned, at Aaron. She had assumed her brothers would be the first to know of her mishap. The helicopter's whir had filled her with hope that they were arriving. But it was Aaron who stepped out, against all her expectations. Aaron squinted his eyes. "What? Are you disappointed to see me? Who did you think was coming?"
"I thought the police would come from the sky. What's wrong? Any issues?" Susanna swayed her feet. "I didn't expect Mr. Abbott to be so busy, actually arriving here so quickly, it did surprise me."
"Don't overthink. I just don't want people to know that my wife was kidnapped and forced to be other’s wife, bearing his child in a remote place, which would affect my reputation if the news broke out."
She lowered her eyelids, knowing that Aaron didn't come so quickly because of her.
The next moment, he picked up the medical kit and stood up. "Since you're so lively, I'll go first."
Susanna watched the man heartlessly turn away, feeling a bit flustered. "Are you leaving just like that?"
She looked at the helicopter parked nearby, and everyone seemed to be retreating.
It seemed like no one cared about her!
Susanna stood up, feeling anxious. "Aaron, stop, at least I'm still your legal wife now. Are you just going to leave like this? Jerk!"
Aaron stood in front of the helicopter, looking at Susanna catching up, his thin lips slightly curved.
He adjusted his expression and calmly looked back at her. "Now you remember that you are legally my wife."
The men around her kept appearing one after another, making him almost invisible.
As she was reminded one by one, Susanna felt a bit embarrassed. She said nervously, "Anyway, you can't leave me now. If you go, take me with you!"
At this point, she didn't want to pretend to be reserved anymore, as long as she could leave this place.
Aaron squinted. "Did you just call me a jerk?"
Knowing she was in trouble, he not only abandoned his work but also mobilized all his connections just to find her as soon as possible.
Couldn't she give him a nicer title?
Susanna took a deep breath and forced a fake smile. "Mr. Abbott, you are handsome and kind-hearted, you will surely be rewarded."
Aaron pinched her cheek. "Can you smile a bit more naturally?"
Susanna felt a bit embarrassed; he even pinched her cheek!
Aaron restrained himself from pulling back his hand. "Give me a nicer title, and then I'll take you with me."
Susanna stood in front of the helicopter, pondering for a few seconds, and tentatively said, "Handsome boy?"
"I know I'm handsome, try another one."
"Aaron?"
"It seems like you don't want to leave."
She tilted her head, "Honey? Dear? Baby? Sweetheart?"
Aaron got goosebumps. "Can you speak properly?"
His subordinate beside him was struggling to hold back his laughter.
His expression became very unnatural, deliberately serious, "Susanna, how did you learn these words? Naughty!"
Susanna spread her hands. "Then you choose one."
The next moment, he approached her, bending down, and lifted her up.
Susanna said surprisingly, "I can do it myself."
"Your legs are short. "Aaron countered.
Susanna felt speechless; how could he mock her short legs!
Was having long legs such a big deal?
After being placed in the helicopter, her feet still dangled outside. It was true that she might probably couldn't climb up with her strength.
After boarding the helicopter, she saw several human traffickers lying on the ground, asking, "What about them?"
Aaron replied, "Someone will come to take them back."
Aaron sat next to her, in the narrow space, their arms were tightly pressed together, and Susanna could feel the warmth coming from him.
In fact, it was quite cold inside the mountains.
Susanna's stomach growled, indicating she was very hungry.
Not long after, she heard the sound of food packaging, turning to see Aaron holding a chocolate bar. She instinctively swallowed.
Aaron shook the chocolate in his hand. "Do you want some?"
Susanna nodded honestly. "You can't just watch your legal wife faint from hunger on the helicopter; it wouldn't be good for your reputation."
Aaron broke the chocolate and handed it over, thinking she had learned these things quite quickly.
Susanna took a bite directly, since she was pregnant and couldn't afford to be hungry.
As the supposed father of the child, Aaron naturally should eat some chocolate.
Susanna's tense spirit finally relaxed, eating the chocolate, as she was safe now.
Not long after, Aaron felt like a little squirrel was snuggling into his arms, even curling up inside from the coat.
He looked down at Susanna, who approached him willingly, his thin lips curved, and he directly took off his coat and covered her with it.
Perhaps only when she was asleep would she be so obedient.
Glancing at her, he pinched Susanna's cheek again, feeling she had gained quite a bit of weight.
Was she so happy to leave him? She had gained quite a bit of weight in such a short time!
At that moment, Lee messaged him: [Boss, Austin has been messaging me, asking where we are?]
Aaron glanced over, texting: [Directly to the hospital.]
Although Susanna seemed fine on the surface, it was unknown if she was truly okay until a doctor checked her.
Half an hour later, the helicopter landed on the rooftop of the hospital.
Austin had been waiting nearby since he found out about Susanna's disappearance and their search efforts. They almost turned the place upside down, but not being local in Lindwell made it a bit tricky.
Unexpectedly, Aaron also knew about Susanna's situation and sent people to search together, which significantly expedited the process.
After the helicopter landed, Aaron carried the sleeping Susanna down.
Austin rushed up wanting to take Susanna, but Aaron passed by him, carrying her downstairs.
Austin was infuriated, wondering why he kept holding his sister? Let go of her!
If it weren't for Aaron's considerable efforts this time, they would have had a confrontation right there!
Though angry, Austin remained rational and quickly messaged his Facebook: [Susanna is at the hospital, currently no visible injuries.]
After sending the message, Austin hurriedly caught up. "Aaron, put her down for a check-up. Aren't you tired of carrying her all this time?"
Aaron earnestly replied, "She's not heavy!"
Austin was speechless; the issue wasn't Susanna's weight but the fact that it was inappropriate for him to carry her. Didn't he understand his point?
