Chapter 311 I Owe You This Slap
Aaron winced as a searing pain blossomed across his cheek, causing his expression to shift subtly.
He lowered his gaze to meet Susanna's eyes, his throat tightening with emotion. "This slap, I owed you. If you're still not satisfied..."
Another sharp slap landed on the opposite side of Aaron's face. A heavy silence descended upon the room.
Sam and Vivian ran over together, shocked to see the woman who looked exactly like Susanna.
A dark look flashed in Vivian's eyes, and then she looked at Aaron worriedly. "Aaron, are you okay? Are you hurt?"
Sam glanced incredulously at Susanna, unable to believe they would meet her here.
For the past four years, there had been no news of Susanna. The Jones family seemed to have left no clues, and they couldn't find any trace of Susanna.
Aaron seemed to hear nothing, holding onto Susanna's wrist tightly, his thin lips pressed coldly. "Have you had enough?"
"Let go!" Susanna looked at the man who appeared out of nowhere, daring to act so rudely towards her!
She chuckled lightly, stepped forward, and grabbed Aaron's tie, whispering, "Sir, plenty of guys have chased me, but you're the only one begging to get knocked around. You're good-looking, but I'm not into that masochistic stuff."
Aaron heard her words and said in a deep voice, "You don't need to pretend you don't know me."
Susanna suddenly raised her head and left a red lipstick mark on Aaron's collar, then took out her lip gloss and wrote a string of numbers on his shirt. Giving his chest a playful pat, she declared, "I have something to do now, contact me later."
Aaron observed Susanna's daring actions, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his features. His eyes locked onto her face, and in that moment, he noticed a distinctive tear-shaped mole at the corner of her eye. This was new. Startled, he blurted out, "Aren't you Susanna?"
"No, you've got the wrong person."
Aaron was momentarily distracted by the tear mole, and his hand subconsciously loosened.
Susanna seized the moment to pivot gracefully and make her way towards the elevator, lightly rubbing her wrist as she walked. Men these days certainly had no shortage of tactics when it came to approaching her. They even tried playing hard to get, but she was always one step ahead.
"Wait a minute!"
Susanna stood outside the elevator, hearing footsteps approaching. A woman walked up to her and blocked her way, making her mood a bit sour. "Move!" she uttered directly.
Vivian looked at the woman in front of her. "You can't leave, you are Susanna, right? Aaron has been looking for you for years. Do you know what kind of life he's been living? And now you're pretending not to know him, do you know how hurtful that is?"
Susanna was utterly perplexed by what was unfolding, but one thing was certain—she detected a layer of insincerity in Vivian's words, dripping with sanctimony. Hypocrites, she thought to herself, despising them more than anything in the world.
The elevator door opened, and Susanna shot a cold glance at Vivian. "You should be glad I'm very busy right now and don't have time to argue with you. Move, this is your final warning."
Vivian not only didn't move but stepped forward to block Susanna. "You can't leave without explaining."
Susanna's patience finally wore thin. With a sudden movement, she deftly seized Vivian's hair, rendering her powerless to protest.
Her cold, red lips curled into a chilling smile as she gently patted Vivian's face, her voice cutting through the tension, "Do words evade your comprehension?" With each word spoken, her hand delivered a stern pat to Vivian's cheek.
Vivian was hit so hard she was dizzy, her eyes wide in disbelief that she was actually being hit.
After releasing Vivian, Susanna turned and entered the elevator. Her cold stare and red lips gave her an aloof, powerful air, leaving the three outside in awe as the doors glided shut, sealing her formidable presence within.Outside the elevator, Vivian covered her face, looking pitifully at Aaron. "Aaron, I just wanted to stop her so you could talk. I didn't mean anything else."
However, Aaron remained unmoved, his attention fixed solely on Susanna in the elevator, seemingly oblivious to Vivian's words. After four years, Susanna appeared to have undergone significant transformation.
The elevator door closed, and Sam spoke in surprise, "Aaron, are you sure she's Susanna? Although her features are similar, her personality is completely different."
If it were the old Susanna, she wouldn't dare to do like this.
Aaron looked down at his palm, then thought of the tear mole at the corner of that woman's eye, murmuring, "I'm not sure either."
Then he instructed Tyler, "Send someone to find out who she really is."
Vivian stood beside him, covering her face with grievance. "Aaron, even if she's not Susanna, this is too much. I just wanted her to explain."
Aaron said indifferently, "This is Radiant Valley, not Lindwell. You'd better not cause trouble."
Vivian's eyes welled up with tears as she watched Aaron's retreating form, a deep sense of hurt washing over her.Sam looked at her and said, "Aaron's got a temper. Widowed men are all a bit odd. Vivian, did you get a hotel booked?"
"Not yet, all the hotels here are full. I thought I'd figure it out when I got here," Vivian replied.
Sam had no choice but to say, "You can stay in my room. I'll stay with Aaron."
Vivian lowered her head and followed Sam, her face still hurting from the slap, and her heart filled with hatred. If it really was Susanna, she could get rid of her again!
Stepping out of the elevator, Susanna's already sour mood worsened. Attending an auction had been her intention, yet an unwelcome advance on the first floor left her with a red mark on her wrist.
Slightly peeved, she instructed, "Find out about that man."
Taylor, who was beside Susanna, tentatively asked, "Ms. Jones, why do you want to investigate that man?"
Did Ms. Jones remember something? If he wasn't mistaken, that man was Aaron!
Susanna was a bit frustrated. "Of course, to get back at him, especially that woman. She made me very uncomfortable. And being stuck in Radiant Valley in the rain, unable to go out to sea, I might as well find something to do."
Taylor felt a heavy sigh welling up within, knowing well that Edward had explicitly forbidden any form of contact between Susanna and the Abbott family.
At this moment, Susanna received a call from home. She answered with a smile, "Aviana, what's up?"
"Susanna, have you arrived at Radiant Valley? I have something to tell you, but don't get anxious," Aviana declared.
"Just got to Radiant Valley Hotel. What's going on, Aviana? Why the secrecy?"
Aviana took a deep breath. "Susanna, Lillian is missing."
