Chapter 273 She Found This Apology Disgusting

Susanna turned to Lucy, glaring, and snapped, "Did you forget to brush your teeth today? Your breath stinks!"

Lucy, now icy, shot back, "Touched a nerve, did I? What if your sugar daddy finds out about the other guy hanging around? Think he'd take back all those fancy things you're wearing?"

In a flash of anger, Susanna slapped Lucy hard, the sound echoing through the room. The slap was so strong that Susanna's hand went numb. Lucy stumbled back, feeling dizzy, her face tingling from the hit.

The room went dead silent.

After a moment, Lucy screamed, "Susanna, how dare you hit me! Who do you think you are? My dad won't let you get away with this!"

Juniper added, "Is Lucy okay? This is serious. We should call the police. Susanna needs to be punished!"

Flandre shot back, "Lucy, you asked for it with that mouth of yours. Verbal abuse is violence too."

Shaking with anger, Lucy spat, "I'm calling the cops, Susanna! You'll be begging for mercy, wishing you were never born. How dare a lowlife orphan like you touch me! Are you asking for trouble?"

Seeing things get out of hand, Jim tried to calm everyone down. "Lucy, we're all classmates. Let's not make this worse. Besides, what you said was pretty harsh."

Lucy snapped, "How was I wrong? How could an orphan like Susanna know so many people? Something's fishy!"

Just then, the restaurant manager rushed over and respectfully addressed the middle-aged man, "Boss, any instructions?"

The middle-aged man, looking stern but respectful towards Susanna, said, "Susanna, need help with this?"

Susanna was surprised to see Elite but remembered Brian's message, so it made sense.

Jack was shocked, "He's the owner?"

Lucy, equally stunned, blurted, "Is he fake?"

Jack, more composed, replied, "He's the general manager. If he says this guy's the owner, it's true."

Lucy, realizing Elite's power and her father's respect for him, reluctantly forced a smile at Susanna, "Well, Susanna, looks like you've got a wealthy friend. Congrats. Let's call it even for what just happened.."

Susanna smirked, "Who said it's even?"

Elite, with a gracious smile, said, "Susanna, let me handle this. No need to bother your family. Just put in a good word with your brother."

Before Susanna could respond, Elite looked at Lucy. "Your dad's from SummitTech, right? Tell him our contract is void. And don't expect to stay in this industry anymore."

Lucy’s face fell. "How can you blacklist our company over this?"

If her dad found out, he’d be furious. Susanna, tired of the drama, turned to Flandre. "I'm out. You guys keep chatting."

She couldn't stand it anymore. Brian's words from last night echoed in her mind—these gatherings were just shallow competitions.

As she waited for the elevator, Lucy, crying, blocked her way. "Susanna, please forgive me. I was wrong. I'm sorry!"

Susanna glanced at Flandre, surprised. What happened?

Flandre snorted, "She got a call. Her family's going bankrupt because they offended Elite. Serves her right."

Another classmate chimed in, "Yeah, we all said Susanna's parents were wealthy, but Lucy didn't believe it and spread rumors. She deserves it!"

Lucy looked to Jack, but he avoided her gaze. "Lucy, you should sincerely apologize to Susanna. You have to face the consequences."

Lucy reluctantly apologized, "Susanna, I'm sorry."

Disgusted, Susanna pushed Lucy away and headed for the elevator.

Panicked, Lucy dropped to her knees, her voice trembling. "Susanna, don't go. Please forgive me. My family can't afford to go bankrupt."

Juniper quickly added, "Susanna, Lucy's on her knees. What more do you want? Are you trying to push her over the edge?"

Susanna sneered, "If I had no power today, I'd be the one bullied and slandered, and no one would defend me. Now the roles are reversed. Is that hard to accept?"

Her classmates fell silent.

Flandre defended her, "Exactly! Lucy's family issues aren't Susanna's problem. Maybe Lucy should be kneeling to Elite instead?"

Susanna said nothing and took the elevator.

Flandre comforted her, "Don't worry. Lucy deserves it. Her words were out of line, and you kept your cool. It's impressive you didn't sue her for defamation."

When they reached the restaurant entrance, it was pouring rain.

Jack hurried over, suddenly enthusiastic. "Susanna, let me give you a ride. It's pouring, and getting a cab is impossible."

"No need, my driver’s coming," Susanna replied.

"Maybe it’s that old man picking Susanna up," Lucy said, glaring. "I don't believe you're some heir! Elite must have been putting on a show."

Flandre shot back, "Lucy, what's your problem? Can't stand seeing others succeed?"

"Let's wait for that old man to pick Susanna up and expose her," Lucy said.
