Chapter 436 She Finally Remembered Everything
Austin's scalpel was sharp as hell, but Aaron just stood there, like he was ready to meet his maker.
Even Daniel was freaking out, his heart pounding like crazy.
Finally, the scalpel sliced Aaron's arm, ripping his shirt and making blood ooze out.
Seeing Aaron not even flinch, Austin snarled, "You got a death wish or something?"
This guy's nuts!
Aaron glanced at the bloody scalpel and said, deadpan, "Even if you kill me, my answer's the same. I ain't leaving."
Austin was about to go for round two, but Daniel stepped in, "Austin, go check on Susanna. I'll deal with this."
Killing Aaron now? Bad timing.
Mentioning Susanna, Austin finally backed off, putting away the scalpel and shooting Aaron a death glare. "You're lucky today. Next time, not so much."
After Austin left, Daniel gave Aaron a cold stare, "Alright, spill it. What's your real game here?"
"I already told you."
"Everyone here’s sharp. Hope you are too. Susanna's the Jones family heir now, and Lillian's a Jones too. Susanna ain't the orphan you used to push around."
Daniel's tone was dripping with sarcasm, reminding Aaron of their past bullying.
Aaron looked down, "I know. I just wanna fix it."
"Fix it? With what? Susanna's got everything now. She went through hell with the Abbott family, almost died giving birth. Where were you then? Can you take that pain for her? Hell no!"
The message was clear: Aaron couldn't fix squat.
Guilt flashed in Aaron's eyes. "I didn't know back then. If you hadn't faked her death and taken her away, I wouldn't have been MIA all these years."
"Enough. Didn't you ask for a divorce back then? Only when we found her did you try to crawl back. But guess what? It's too late!"
Aaron clutched his bleeding shoulder, "I know you don't believe me now. But I just wanna see her and Lillian safe."
"You're shameless."
Daniel glanced at his secretary, "Get him outta here. Keep him away from Susanna!"
With that, Daniel headed to the hospital room.
Soon, a bunch of bodyguards surrounded Aaron, ready to boot him out.
The secretary approached Aaron, looking uneasy, "Mr. Abbott, please don't make this harder. If you stay, it'll mess with Ms. Jones's recovery."
"Fine, I'll go. But I'm staying outside the hospital. Keep me updated on her recovery."
"Okay."
Hearing the secretary agree, Aaron left the hospital, knowing he couldn't see Susanna if he stayed.
But he wasn't giving up that easy.
Francis, who'd been watching, looked conflicted. He never expected this bodyguard to be Susanna's ex-husband.
Susanna had been missing for years and was only found four years ago.
He'd heard Susanna got married and had a kid, but she divorced her jerk of an ex-husband.
Some folks said Susanna's ex was a broke dude from the wrong side of the tracks who treated her like crap. Her family finding her was her ticket out.
Francis eyed the secretary, "Is this guy Susanna's ex?"
The secretary stayed cool, "I can't say, and I hope you don't spread rumors. Here's a confidentiality agreement. Sign it."
Francis scribbled his name on the paper, but he already knew the deal. This bodyguard was definitely Susanna's ex-husband!
He probably came crawling back 'cause he found out Susanna hit the jackpot as the Jones family heir and wanted to patch things up!
But no way was he letting this jerk near Susanna again!
In the swanky hospital room.
Susanna felt like she was stuck in a long, weird dream, reliving her time with the Abbott family.
She remembered marrying Aaron and all the crap she went through with his family.
It all played in her head like a messed-up movie, making her remember everything crystal clear.
She'd had these dreams before, but they were always jumbled and didn't hit her hard. This time, it hurt like hell.
Susanna finally woke up, staring at the hospital ceiling. She touched the corner of her eye and felt the wet spot on her pillow.
She remembered everything about her time with the Abbott family.
Right now, Susanna's feelings were all over the place. For the past four years, she'd forgotten all about the Abbott family, only knowing from her family that it sucked. But she didn't know the details.
Now, she remembered it all.
Susanna quickly wiped her tears, feeling a lot calmer.
Thank God she survived that accident four years ago, and both Lillian and Charles were okay too.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have let the Abbott family off the hook.
She quickly remembered Aaron playing bodyguard and felt a shiver run down her spine.
When she liked Aaron, he was cold as ice and even asked for a divorce to ditch her.
After she found her family, Aaron seemed like a whole new person.
"Susanna, you're awake. Feeling okay?"
Austin pushed open the door and saw Susanna awake. He rushed over to check on her. "Susanna, any discomfort? Dizziness, nausea, blurry vision?"
"Just a bit of a headache."
Susanna touched her forehead, feeling a bump, probably from Kayle's hit!
She was pissed; no one had dared to hit her in years. Kayle was a total jerk.
"Don't touch it, Susanna. The wound's still healing. The bump will go down in a few days. Anything else bothering you?"
Susanna pulled her hand back, "Nothing else."
"Susanna, you’ve got a mild concussion and need to stay here for a day. Next time, get a reliable bodyguard. Don't let some loser protect you."
Susanna knew Austin was talking about Aaron.
She sighed, "I know, Austin. Can we not tell Edward about this?"
"You mean your injury or keeping Aaron as your bodyguard?"
