Chapter 258 The Six Brothers Were Terrified
"Susanna, what's up?"
Snapping out of her thoughts, Susanna smiled. "Nothing."
Edward gave her a curious look. "There's a charity auction later. If you see something you like, go for it. Money's no problem."
Susanna grinned mischievously. " I remember you told me before that you work in real estate, selling houses?""
Edward chuckled. "I said real estate. You assumed I sold houses."
Susanna turned to her other brother. "Arthur, you're a programmer?"
Arthur replied seriously, "Actually, I'm the owner of Tesla, Inc."
"Wait, your company made that famous online game?" Susanna asked, surprised.
Austin jumped in, "The vet thing was Edward's joke. I never said that."
Susanna squinted at Austin. "Hold on... You're the famous doctor in Novaria? The one who operated on Maria?"
Austin fidgeted. "Yeah, that's me. I didn't mean to hide it. I just didn't know how to tell you."
Susanna then looked at Brian. "Brian, are you just a piano teacher? Erica said you're a famous pianist. That music team at the auditorium was yours, right?"
Brian, sweating, nodded. "Yes, but I never meant to deceive you. I always wanted you to join the band."
Susanna turned to Daniel. "So, that top law firm in Novaria is yours? You're the top lawyer?"
Daniel, usually composed, stammered. "Susanna, I'm sorry for not telling you sooner."
Susanna realized why the law firm had helped her when she was wrongly accused. Daniel had orchestrated it all.
Finally, she looked at Justin, smiling. "So, you're not just a stunt double, are you?"
It hit her—Justin was the movie star himself!
Justin coughed. "I never meant to deceive you. It was Edward's idea."
Edward waved his fist at Justin. "You little brat, blaming me? Shame on you!"
Susanna, overwhelmed by her brothers' true identities, pinched herself. "Not a dream."
Edward reassured her. "Susanna, this is real."
Aviana handed her the auction paddle. "Buy whatever you want!"
"And ours too!" her six brothers chimed in.
She was handed six auction paddles and said, "I can't use all these."
Aviana smiled. "It's okay, Susanna. Each paddle represents one of us. You can buy six items, and we'll cover it."
"But I..."
"Take them. Your brothers feel guilty. If you only pick one, they'll argue. For family harmony, buy six. It's fairer!" Aviana said.
Susanna had only heard of buying one item per person to be fair, but was it really fair to spend money just to keep things equal? She glanced at her brothers, all nodding in agreement, and pondered this new take on fairness.
Edward raised his hand. "Susanna, I've got plenty of cash. Go ahead and splurge."
Arthur chimed in, "My business is booming too. Spend generously!"
"Count me in."
"Susanna, use my money."
"Stop!" Susanna called out, looking helplessly at Aviana, finally getting her point.
To keep the peace, she took the six paddles and looked at the auction items, ready to buy six things.
During the auction, Susanna really bought six items! Everyone stared at her, envious.
Susanna felt awkward under their gazes. She was used to watching from the sidelines, but now she was the center of attention, deciding how to spend her brothers' money.
The principal was stunned, not expecting Susanna to be with the Jones family and looking so close.
The key point was that Susanna was holding the six brothers' paddles, and they were paying, not her. Even the principal was puzzled.
The host asked the principal for help. "What do we do? She bought six items! The schedule doesn't account for this!"
The principal reluctantly took the microphone. "Today, Susanna bought six items, contributing six shares of love to children in need. Let's give her a warm round of applause."
The audience erupted in applause.
Susanna smiled awkwardly, but since it was for a good cause, she felt better.
"Alright, let's hear from Susanna next."
Susanna looked confused, not wanting to speak. But with everyone watching, she felt pressured.
Aviana encouraged her. "Susanna, take the mic. Just a few words, you got this."
Susanna had no choice but to take the microphone. "Actually, it's nothing. It's what we should do. I also received charitable support to get into college, so I hope more kids can get help."
"Susanna, as an orphan and a student who received financial aid, where did you get the money to buy six items?"
Susanna turned towards the voice and saw Violet, who hadn't been there during Erica's revelation, so she didn't know about Susanna's connection to the Jones family.
At that moment, her six brothers stood up simultaneously.
