Chapter 563 Mr. Abbott Is Sad Again

Susanna grabbed Aaron's tie and said, "But to me, you're not the best choice."

She let go, got into the car, and rolled down the window. "How'd you find out about the kids fighting today?" she asked, looking at Aaron standing by the curb. Maybe Lillian snitched again?

Aaron shrugged. "I know the kids go to this school, so I paid someone to keep me in the loop. I'm their dad; I have a right to know what's going on with their education."

Made sense. Susanna sighed. "Just don't go buying them gifts all the time."

"Afraid I'll win them over with presents?"

"Please, the kids aren't that shallow. They've had everything they wanted since they were little; they're not easily swayed by stuff." With that, Susanna drove off.

Not long after, Edward called. "Susanna, who did the kids fight with in kindergarten?"

She couldn't hide it from him, so she spilled. "I'm thinking of transferring Ramond out of that kindergarten. I can't have a ticking time bomb near my kids. Who knows what Vivian might make him do." Kids could be more ruthless than adults sometimes.

"Alright, I'll handle it. And Susanna, what's going on with you and Aaron? He's been hanging around Novaria and has some shady dealings with Owen. Is he trying to use Owen to mess with us?"

Susanna thought for a moment. "Edward, Aaron and I aren't as complicated as you think. I don't believe he'd team up with Owen against the Jones Family." Even for the kids, Aaron wouldn't do that.

"Are you sure? Isn't Aaron paying a bit too much attention to Vivian's kid?"

Susanna considered Aaron's situation and his connection to Ramond but couldn't tell Edward the whole truth. It was Aaron's business, not hers to share.

"He's not particularly focused on Ramond. It's just that Ramond has some ties to the Abbott Family." She only mentioned that Ramond's dad was Aaron's father's illegitimate son, not that Aaron was also an illegitimate child.

Edward snorted. "Figures. The Abbott Family is full of trouble. They mess with our kids; they won't get away with it."

"Edward..." Susanna wanted to say more, but Edward had already hung up. No point in saying more now. She wasn't going to back down, though. Since Amelia was gearing up to take on Owen, Susanna figured she could start her own moves too.

Back at her office, Susanna got a call from Owen. "Ms. Jones, got a minute to talk?"

"Mr. Richardson, whatever you need to say, you can say it over the phone." She had a pretty good idea why Owen was calling.

Owen's voice was stern. "I heard about what happened at kindergarten today. It was just kids being kids. No need to make a big deal and transfer Ramond, right?"

Susanna's tone was icy. "I thought the same, but Ms. Nguyen's attitude at the school was different. Since she wants to challenge the Jones Family, let's see how it plays out. I'm not leaving a ticking time bomb near my kids. End of discussion." She hung up on him.

No way was she giving Owen any respect. Edward wouldn't hold back either. Her brothers adored the kids and wouldn't let them be bullied.

Owen slammed his phone down and stormed home. Vivian saw him and immediately pushed Ramond forward. "Dad, look at how the Jones Family beat up Ramond. You have to do something!"

Owen slapped her hard. "Vivian, look at the mess you've made. What lies have you been spreading?"

Vivian was stunned. "Dad, I didn't say anything."

"Didn't say anything? You've been throwing my name around and bullying others. Now Ramond has to transfer schools because of you."

"What? Why should Ramond transfer? He didn't start the fight." Vivian was confused. "Dad, you're the President."

"Shut up. You have no idea what it took for me to get here. If your words get out, do you know how much damage it could cause?"

Vivian calmed down. "Is it because of the Jones Family?"

"Now you get it?"

"Dad, are you scared of the Jones Family?"

Owen snorted. "Scared? No. It's just not the right time for a direct confrontation. Get ready to move Ramond to a new school."

Vivian was fuming but saw Owen's anger and kept quiet. "Dad, what about Ramond's birthday party?"

"It goes on as planned."

"At the Velvet Sky Ballroom Hotel?" Even though Susanna owned the hotel, if Ramond's party was there, Paige couldn't use it. They had to win this.

Owen nodded. "Yes, the first appearance has to be at the Velvet Sky Ballroom Hotel."

A triumphant gleam flashed in Vivian's eyes. She felt like she had won this round. For now, she'd bide her time. "Dad, maybe we can collaborate with Emerald Island."

"I don't need your advice. Just make sure the kid is well-behaved." Owen left.

Word of this reached Amelia, who snorted. "Vivian, your dream will shatter at the party in three days."

Three days later, at the Velvet Sky Ballroom Hotel.

Susanna decided to check out the venue herself. She had designed the theme and needed to promote it. When she arrived, she saw Vivian dressed to the nines, acting like the star of the show.

Vivian saw Susanna and walked over smugly with her cup. "Ms. Jones, I don't remember inviting you."
