Chapter 55 Susanna, I Know Your Secret
Erica was getting frustrated. "Austin has always refused to see me, but Grandma Abbott's surgery is getting closer. If he doesn't show up, how am I supposed to make a deal with Aaron?"
Letting Austin perform surgery on Grandma Abbott was her only bargaining chip.
"Miss, anyway, the doctor Aaron found can no longer perform the surgery. He can only ask your brother to do it. There's no need to rush this matter."
"Why shouldn't I be in a rush? Didn't you see it at the hospital that day? Aaron actually saved that woman Susanna first. And he hasn't agreed to my conditions, and even went to find other doctors to perform surgery on Grandma Abbott."
Erica felt that the situation had gone beyond her control, especially Aaron's attitude towards Susanna, which made her feel threatened.
"As long as Aaron has a favor to ask of you, there's still a chance in this matter."

Erica felt uneasy. She wasn't sure what decision Aaron would make.
She quickly said, "Send more people to find out where Austin is. I asked a friend from the Red Cross, and Austin didn't even go there."
The top priority was to find Austin and convince him to perform surgery on Grandma Abbott.
As long as he agreed, everything would be fine.
Susanna took her suitcase to the school to register, looking at the school she had come back to after so many years, feeling a little nostalgic.
"Susanna, welcome back."
Flandre ran over and gave her a big hug. "Do you know how sad I was when you had to leave back then?"
Susanna sighed. "There was no other way, but luckily I'm back now."
"That's great. Let me take you to the dormitory first, and we can go eat together later. Everyone, including the advisor, wants to see you since you came back today."
Susanna put her luggage in the dormitory and followed her best friend Flandre to meet their old classmates. However, she is still studying while her former classmates are almost graduating.
"Susanna, I envy you for taking first place in the H.F. International Design Competition even after taking a leave of absence. The rest of us who have worked hard for three years can't compare to you. Ever since the advisor found out about your award, he has been praising you in the group chat."
For a moment, the atmosphere at the table became awkward.
Susanna looked over and calmly spoke, "I took a leave of absence in the first place because of financial issues at home. If I hadn't won the award, I wouldn't have been able to come back and study with all of you. I have always admired you guys."
Flandre immediately tried to smooth things over, then whispered to her in a low voice, "Susanna, don't mind her. That woman just can't stand it when others are better than her."
Susanna didn't care about these things at all. After all, being able to come back and continue studying with them was more important than these matters.
After finishing the meal, the advisor looked at her and said, "Susanna, you won first place in the H.F. International Design Competition. The school values it a lot. In a few days, there will be an awards ceremony for outstanding students. I have reserved a spot for you, and there is also a sum of money to alleviate your financial pressure."
"Thank you, Professor Mike."
Susanna didn't refuse either. Having a scholarship would be great, especially since she really needed the money right now.
The meal took quite a long time.
Susanna's phone lit up and she received a message from Aaron: [Where are you?]
Susanna paused and replied: [I'm eating at the restaurant outside the school. I'll be back later.]
She put her phone away. Taylor must be with Aaron, that's why he asked about her whereabouts. He never used to pay attention to her situation.
She only replied to let Aaron have an explanation in front of Taylor, so he wouldn't think that Aaron would actually come to pick her up.
Half an hour later, they finally finished the meal.
Susanna walked out of the restaurant and saw a black luxury car parked by the roadside. Suddenly, her eyelids twitched - did Aaron come?
She stopped in her tracks and looked at Flandre. "You should ask our classmates to go ahead. I'll go back and use the restroom."
Susanna turned around and went back to the restaurant, hiding inside for over ten minutes. She had to wait until her classmates had mostly left before she could go out.
Buzz, the phone rang.
Susanna answered and heard a deep voice on the other end. "Come out."
"I'm coming."
After hanging up the phone, Susanna walked out of the restaurant slowly. She saw that her classmates had all dispersed, so she walked towards the black luxury car.
She opened the car door and quickly got in.
Aaron squinted his eyes. "Do you need to socialize for school?"
"I came back to school to take classes again. Going out for a meal with my old classmates is part of normal social interactions, not socializing."
They didn't speak on the way home, and the two of them returned to their mansion.
Sure enough, Susanna saw Taylor waiting next to it. If it wasn't for the need to act, he probably wouldn't care where she went.
In the following days, Susanna went to school on time every day. She was very busy now and didn't have time to think about anything else.
While she was studying at the library, she received a call from her advisor. "Susanna, don't forget the afternoon award ceremony."
"I know."
Susanna set an alarm clock so she wouldn't miss the time.
On her way to the lecture hall, she ran into the former class monitor. The other person looked at her and said, "Susanna, I know your secret."
A trace of confusion flashed in Susanna's eyes. She had never gotten along well with this woman before, and she didn't expect her to have changed much after all these years.
"Susanna, a few days ago, someone picked you up outside the restaurant, right?"
Upon hearing this, Susanna's face changed slightly. She had been very careful, but she didn't expect someone to have seen her.
The class monitor saw her expression and said triumphantly, "Susanna, you dropped out of school before because of a lack of money. How could a dropout student like you earn so much money? Could it be that man in the luxury car gave it to you? He must be quite old."
Susanna's gaze turned cold. "You haven't changed at all after three years. No wonder they all say things about you in private."
"What do you mean? What are they saying about me? Explain yourself!"
Susanna ignored the class monitor and walked quickly towards the lecture hall.
After entering the classroom, she found her name on a chair. She was back at school again, and there was a surreal feeling that she was dreaming.
Soon, the award ceremony was about to begin.
Susanna saw the principal and a group of people entering the venue. At a glance, she saw the elegant and handsome man in the dark suit.
She didn't expect to see Aaron at school.
Has the world become this small?
Several students who were going to perform on stage also sat beside Susanna, and one of the girls nervously said, "Are you the famous Susanna?"
Susanna cleared her throat and said, "I'm not really famous."
"Can I get your autograph? I admire you so much."
At that moment, Susanna was surrounded by younger students, and her attention was drawn away.
Aaron approached and immediately saw Susanna.
Is she really that popular in school?
His gaze fell on the young boy sitting next to her, who was very attentive in getting water for Susanna and taking pictures. Suddenly, he felt a bit uncomfortable.
Following his gaze, the principal hurriedly introduced, "Mr. Abbott, that's the student who won first place in the H.F. International Design Competition last time. Do you want her to come and talk to you?"
