Chapter 549 Mr. Abbott's Fury for His Ex-Wife

When Aaron showed up, the whole vibe shifted big time.

Aaron's towering height and killer looks made the other guys fade into the background.

Susanna couldn't help but sneak a peek at Aaron. Yeah, he was definitely easy on the eyes.

The guy who'd been bragging earlier saw Aaron and lost some of his swagger. Still, he tried to keep up the act, saying, "Mr. Abbott, what’s your deal?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

The guy looked a bit flustered. "Mr. Abbott, you're being all cryptic. How's anyone supposed to get it?"

"Well, with your shady business tactics, no wonder you're clueless."

The guy shot back, "Mr. Abbott, that doesn't make any sense. I built my company from the ground up. If you were in my shoes, you might not have done as well."

Just then, Aaron's secretary whispered something in his ear, spilling the guy's secrets.

Aaron's lips curled into a cold smirk. "Built from scratch? More like using your girlfriend's money, getting lucky, and then ditching her to climb the ladder?"

The guy's face went pale. He thought he'd buried that skeleton deep, and hardly anyone knew.

Susanna narrowed her eyes and said icily, "I can't stand guys like you my entire life."

Trying to keep his cool, the guy said, "So what? Success is success, no matter how you get there. And I'm here to talk business, not personal stuff."

"True, but your skills make me doubt you. So, Velvet Sky Ballroom won't be working with you."

Susanna's bluntness made the guy's face turn red with embarrassment. He snapped, "Who do you think you are? I'm doing you a favor by talking business. You're just a divorced woman with a kid. I met with you out of respect; don't push it."

Before he could finish, Aaron decked him, making him stumble and bleed from the mouth.

Aaron stepped forward, his face dark with anger.

He didn't say a word, but his whole presence screamed danger. The usual gentle Aaron was gone, replaced by someone much scarier.

The guy felt a shiver down his spine and stammered, "You hit me? I'll have my lawyer throw you in jail."

Aaron's voice was ice-cold. "Apologize."

"Apologize? For what?"

The guy thought Aaron was joking, thinking he was the one owed an apology.

Aaron's voice was even colder. "Apologize to Susanna."

The guy pointed at Susanna, "Why should I apologize to her? She was the one being rude first, and you hit me. You two are ganging up on me. I'll make you pay. Don't think you can get away with this in Novaria."

Aaron grabbed the guy's finger and twisted it hard.

The guy screamed in pain, but Aaron's face stayed stone-cold.

He looked down at him and said, "I told you to apologize to my ex-wife. Are you deaf?"

Susanna was taken aback by Aaron's sudden outburst. She hadn't seen this side of him in years.

Aaron, typically untouchable, now appeared on edge.

Even with all her jabs, he never flinched.

She'd almost forgotten that Aaron wasn't always the calm, collected guy he seemed to be.

Snapping out of it, Susanna walked over and said, "Let him go."

Aaron frowned, looking down at the guy on the ground. "Apologize to her, and I'll let you go."

Despite the pain, the guy stayed defiant. "If you’ve got the guts, kill me."

Aaron sneered, "I've seen people who want to live, but never someone like you who’s asking for it."

Susanna tugged on Aaron's arm, looking up at him seriously. "Can you let go first?"

Aaron turned to look at her, the ice in his eyes slowly melting. Finally, he let go.

The guy, now free, got up and started cursing. "What, scared now? Thought you were tough when you hit me. Turns out you're just a dog listening to a woman."

Susanna slapped him hard, her hand stinging.

She looked at him coldly. "What's your name?"

"My name is Bruno Marino, you think—"

"Mr. Marino, is it?" Susanna cut him off. "Causing a scene at the party, I'll still pursue legal action tomorrow."

Bruno was confused. "I'm the one who got hit, and you want to sue me? Why so arrogant?"

"You sexually harassed me first, and my ex-husband couldn't stand it and stepped in."

Susanna looked down at Bruno. "I don't need any reason. My brother's the top lawyer at the biggest firm in Novaria. Getting you a few years in jail shouldn't be a problem."

Bruno finally started to feel scared. "Aren't you afraid that if I spread this, it will affect Velvet Sky Ballroom's funding?"

Aaron pulled out a handkerchief and wiped his hands, his voice icy. "She needs money? I'll give her as much as she needs. Money's the least of my worries."

Bruno was speechless. If anyone else had said that, he could've laughed it off, but this was Aaron.

This guy, who was as rich as a small country, could say stuff like that without a second thought.

Susanna clapped her hands, and soon the security from Velvet Sky Ballroom showed up.

She said coldly, "Escort this guest out and cut all ties with him. Do not accept any reservations from this gentleman."

The guy shouted, "You think I care about your hotel's reservations? There are plenty of other hotels, and my company is no worse than yours."

Aaron's eyes carried a murderous intent. "Then let me inform you now, your company will be bankrupt within a week."

The guy tried to hold his ground. "This is Novaria."
