Chapter 347 the Flaw

Aaron always had this nagging feeling about Nova. She looked just like Susanna, had this shady past, but her vibe was totally different.

Sam coughed and said, "Aaron, you think she's Susanna too, right? Honestly, I started thinking that when she handed over the special medicine without any strings attached. No matter how much Susanna hated you, she was tight with Maria. She wouldn't just let Maria die."

Aaron's lips tightened into a thin line, but he didn't argue. He found the whole thing fishy too. If she was Susanna, it would all click.

Sam smirked and teased, "Ah, the plot thickens. You must've had your doubts all along, that's why you jumped on her dating condition, huh?" Aaron stayed cool, hands in his pockets. "You talk too much."

Sam glanced at his phone and raised an eyebrow. "Perfect timing, the investigation results are in."

Aaron turned to Sam, keeping his cool but feeling a storm inside. "Read it," he said, his calm facade cracking just a bit.

Sam read with a grin, "According to the investigation, Nova's from Novaria, heir to the Brown family. She wasn't very healthy as a kid, so she stayed out of the public eye. Not much info on her. That's all we got from her flight records."

Finishing the report, Sam let out a small sigh. Aaron raised an eyebrow and asked, "Does she look like someone with health issues to you?"

Sam was quiet for a moment. "Honestly, no. Maybe she got better over time and just started living it up."

After hearing this, Aaron looked out at the night and said calmly, "Is there any link between the Brown family and the Jones family?"

If there wasn't, why would a girl from the Brown family look like Susanna?

"We'll have to dig deeper. Right now, there's no link between the Brown family and the Jones family. But rich families do marry off their kids. If that's the case, doesn't it mean she's not Susanna?" Sam's voice got quieter.

He knew Aaron's obsession with Nova was because she looked so much like Susanna, like she was back from the dead.

When Maria got seriously ill, Nova, who was all about selling the special medicine, suddenly had a change of heart and decided to give it up, even coming to Lindwell for it.

Sam was starting to think Nova was Susanna. But the investigation said she wasn't!

Aaron's gentle look vanished, and he pushed down all his feelings, saying coldly, "Keep digging."

Feeling like he missed something but couldn't put his finger on it, he added, "Keep an eye on Madison. If she really is Susanna, she'll definitely go back to see Madison."

He didn't believe Susanna could go all these years without visiting Madison, who raised her.

Sam nodded and kept quiet, knowing it was too soon to jump to conclusions. Despite their initial hunches about Nova, the flight info suggested she wasn't Susanna, nor was she tied to the Jones family.

Susanna rolled up to OakBrook Villas and was pretty stoked with the grand villa she saw. Edward had nailed it with the prep and the decor—it was totally her vibe.

After the bodyguard carried Lillian out, a maid who had been waiting took the sleeping Lillian from him.

Susanna strutted into the hall and instantly recognized the familiar layout. Memories came rushing back of her designing this very decor, which Edward had then brought to life in her villa. The place she had crafted was undeniably cozy and welcoming.

She had just plopped down on the sofa when her phone buzzed. It was Michael, and he sounded icy. "You there yet?"

"Yeah, just got back from the hospital."

"Someone's digging into you."

Susanna narrowed her eyes. "I know who it is. My flight info is practically a neon sign. Only an idiot wouldn't jump on it."

But since she dared to show her ID, she could make sure Aaron wouldn't figure out who she was.

Michael's voice had a hint of helplessness as he said, "Emma has a word for you."

Susanna's face lit up with a smile. "What did she say? Tell her I brought some goodies this time, and we can share them later."

"She said she wants you to have another baby so she can have a playmate."

Susanna's red lips curved. "Sure."

Michael frowned. "Don't mess around! Aaron's bone marrow might be a match; we don't need cord blood."

"I know, but I can have a kid with you."

"I'm already tired of raising kids; I don't want to raise another one."

Susanna's voice carried a tinge of regret. If the kid were Michael's, it would undoubtedly be a beautiful one. "Susanna, aren't you afraid your brothers will find out you snuck to Lindwell and come to drag you back?" Michael asked, concerned.

Susanna replied, "I've got it all covered. Abel's side is in the clear for at least a week without any hiccups. They probably think I'm still in Radiant Valley having fun with Lillian."

A week was enough time for her to get Aaron to do a bone marrow match. She just needed Lillian to put on a show in front of Aaron, pretending to be sick.

"Be careful and don't stir up trouble," said Michael.

"I know what I'm doing. I'm not the same Susanna who used to get pushed around by them," Susanna stated firmly, planning to teach the Abbott family a lesson in the coming days.

After hanging up, Susanna went upstairs to check on the sleeping Lillian, then turned to wash up. After all, there was a lot to do tomorrow.

The next day, when Susanna woke up, Lillian was already awake, playing with her toes by the bed.

Seeing her wake up, Lillian smiled and, in her sweet childlike voice, said, "Mommy, you're awake."

"Yeah, are you hungry? Wanna go have breakfast?"

"Yeah, I'm hungry."

Susanna planted a quick kiss on Lillian's cheek, and after washing up together, they went downstairs hand in hand to eat.

But a mountain of gifts awaited them in the hall, including a colossal stuffed animal. Susanna asked in surprise, "Where did all this stuff come from?"

The maid respectfully replied, "Mr. Abbott sent them."
