Chapter 136 Unless You Bow and Apologize

Susanna did not expect to encounter that wretch Erica so soon.

As the enemies met face to face, their eyes blazed with hatred.

Elaine, brimming with pride, was the first to speak. "Susanna, this event was organized by Erica's family corporation. She is the person in charge of this event and will be giving a speech later."

Erica assumed an air of superiority. She had yet to repay Susanna for the slap she received last time.

Susanna raised an eyebrow. "Oh."

Her tone was indifferent.

Elaine seemed unwilling to let it go and continued to threaten her. "Susanna, you must be scared. Let me tell you, as long as Erica is around, you can forget about getting that scholarship."

Susanna raised an eyebrow again. "Actually, I don't care that much about the scholarship. But Erica, you're the person in charge of this event. Aren't you afraid of being found out if you dare to manipulate things behind the scenes?"

Erica's lips curled into a cold smile. "You can make all the accusations you want, but someone has to believe you. After all, I am the eldest daughter of the Jones family. This is a piece of cake for me. I won't leave any evidence. What can you do to me?"

Elaine covered her mouth and laughed. "Exactly. But Susanna, we're not that petty. If you apologize, we might forgive you. If Erica is in a good mood, you might even get that scholarship."

Susanna remained calm and silent, but her good friend Flandre couldn't help but speak up. "Aren't you afraid that people will find out about your despicable actions? If I spread the word, you'll get in trouble."

Elaine sneered, "You can try and see if anyone believes a poor person like you."

"That might not be the case," Susanna said calmly.

Susanna was serious as she shook her phone. "I recorded everything you just said. If this video goes online, it will be more sensational than Elaine's scandalous video."

Erica's expression changed dramatically. Elaine tried to snatch the phone from her, but Susanna was prepared and put it away. "Don't bother. I've already backed up the video to the cloud. Even if you steal my phone, it won't do any good," Susanna sneered.

Elaine gritted her teeth in anger. "Susanna, how dare you!"

"Shall I show you what I dare to do?"

Susanna took out her phone, ready to upload the video. Erica grabbed her wrist, her face extremely grim. "Susanna, stop it."

Susanna raised an eyebrow. "Are you scared?"

Erica suppressed her anger. "What do you want?"

If Susanna really spread the video online and Edward found out, she would be screwed. She wouldn't be able to meddle in the company's affairs anymore. She would face the risk of being kicked out by Edward. She didn't want any more complications.

Susanna twirled her phone. "It is simple. If you two apologize for the slander and threats you just made, I won't post the video."

"You want me to apologize? Susanna, you must be dreaming!" Elaine was furious.

Elaine would rather die than apologize to Susanna. She looked at Erica. "Erica, we don't need to fear Susanna's words. You are the eldest daughter of the Jones family. Your brother will definitely believe you over Susanna. Just claim the video is fabricated."

Erica was extremely annoyed about how Elaine, that fool, always came up with unreliable ideas.
She thought to herself, 'If she weren't Aaron's sister, I wouldn't even bother with her.'

Erica took a deep breath. "Susanna, we were just joking. You didn't take it seriously, did you? My brother has always hated people playing tricks at work. I would never actually do anything like that."

Elaine, who was standing beside her, felt a surge of anger and wondered why Erica was displaying vulnerability to Susanna.

Flandre sneered, "Is that your apology? If you don't know how to apologize, I can teach you. An apology means you should say 'I'm sorry!'"

Erica was reaching her limit.

Susanna glanced around. "There are lots of people here. If I upload the video online during the scholarship opening ceremony and reveal the scandal, things should get quite interesting."

Erica finally took a deep breath and said, "Susanna, I was wrong. I shouldn't have joked like that. I'm sorry!"

"Erica, are you really apologizing?" Elaine couldn't believe Erica had apologized so easily.

She immediately put on a cold expression. "Susanna, I won't apologize to you. Go ahead and upload the video. My reputation has already been ruined by you; I don't care if it gets worse."

Susanna's smile deepened. "Really? I'll upload the video right now then."

Erica anxiously said, "Susanna, I already apologized to you."

Susanna's gaze turned icy. "But you two are complicit in this."

Erica was furious as she pulled Elaine aside and whispered, "Elaine, didn't you want me to introduce you to Arthur? Arthur despises girls with bad reputations. If he finds out about this, you'll have no chance with him."

"No, please." Elaine was worried about losing her chance with Arthur and became anxious. After all, she liked Arthur.

Erica grew impatient and said, "Elaine, I've said my piece. It's up to you whether you listen or not."

"But Erica, do we really have to be afraid of Susanna? Your brother will support you, right?" said Elaine.

"Elaine, this is my problem. If I rely on my brother for everything, I'll be seen as a parasite. I don't want to leave a bad impression on him," said Erica.

In the end, Elaine reluctantly approached Susanna. "I'm sorry."

Flandre sneered, "What kind of attitude is that? You're not being sincere at all."

Elaine wanted to slap her, but when she thought of Arthur, she restrained herself and said, "I'm sorry! Is that enough?"

Susanna held back her friend Flandre, her expression indifferent. "Just barely. I hope this won't happen again. Flandre, let's go!"

"Wait." Erica blocked her path, saying, "Susanna, we already apologized. Now delete the video."

Elaine agreed. "Yes, delete the video to be safe."

At this moment, Susanna said with a faint smile, "There's no need for that."

Erica's expression hardened. "Susanna, are you reneging on your promise? I warn you, you can't cross the Jones family! I'll confess to Edward if I have to, and everything will be as if it never happened."

Susanna shook her phone and said, "I'm saying that there's no need to delete the video because I never recorded it in the first place."
