Chapter 296 Susanna is Pregnant

As soon as Susanna locked eyes with Aaron, she took a casual sip of her milk, playing it cool.

She set the cup down and caught him coming her way out of the corner of her eye.

Right then, Elaine, feeling all smug, piped up, "Aaron, did you catch what Susanna just said? I wasn't badmouthing her."

Susanna heard Elaine and a sarcastic glint flashed in her eyes. She had zero intention of explaining anything.

Aaron was already in front of Susanna, looking down at her. "That set of jewelry is actually..."

Susanna cut him off, all chill, "Can you move? You're in my way."

Without waiting for a reply, she strutted off in her high heels. She couldn't care less about his explanations. That jewelry meant nothing to her, no matter who it was for.

Aaron just stood there, watching her walk away, frowning. Elaine leaned in. "Aaron, look at Susanna acting all high and mighty. She's obviously jealous that Vivian has the DivineDynasty jewelry you bought."

Aaron's eyes turned icy, his voice cold. "Who said that jewelry was for Vivian?"

"Isn't it? Who else would it be for if not Vivian?" Elaine mumbled.

Aaron's face darkened, and Elaine instinctively backed off. Given how Aaron treated Vivian, better than even Erica, she naturally assumed the jewelry was for Vivian. But she was way off!

Aaron's expression was grim, his lips tight as he stared at Elaine. "Don't make assumptions."

"Then who did you buy that jewelry for, Aaron? Was it for Grandma?"

"Don't pry." Aaron's tone was indifferent, signaling he was done talking to Elaine. He turned and walked away, clearly not in the mood to deal with her.

Elaine stomped her foot in frustration but knew better than to push Aaron. In the Abbott family, no one dared to mess with him.

But who was that jewelry for? Could it be for Susanna?

With Susanna now the heir of the Jones family in Novaria and carrying the Abbott family's kid, the idea of her getting back with Aaron was a threat to Elaine's place in the family.

The unsettling thought of Susanna, someone Elaine always looked down on, now surpassing her, made her uneasy.

"Elaine, what were you talking about just now?" Vivian had been standing on the second floor, staying out of sight as Aaron had instructed. Though it stung, she complied to avoid upsetting him.

"Vivian, Aaron said that jewelry wasn't for you. I must've been wrong," Elaine replied.

Vivian's face tightened, and she touched the necklace around her neck, forcing a smile. "It's okay, I'll just take it off. Did he say who the jewelry was for?"

Elaine's eyes shifted, explaining deliberately, "Aaron seemed to be trying to explain something to Susanna just now. I think the jewelry might be for her."

Vivian's hand slowly clenched. "But they're divorced, right?"

"I find it weird too, but I heard the servants say today's party was organized by Grandma for Aaron and Susanna, probably to get them to remarry."

Vivian lowered her eyes, her tone sad. "If they remarry, Mrs. Maria Abbott would be thrilled. It would be good for the Abbott family."

"Vivian, are you nuts? If they get back together, where does that leave us? Susanna's now the Jones family heir. Who's gonna mess with her? Plus, she's carrying Aaron's kid," Elaine said.

Vivian's face went pale. "What?"

Elaine lowered her voice. "I'm the only one in the Abbott family who knows. Susanna's kept it on the down-low."

"But why wouldn't Susanna say anything?" Vivian was confused.

"At first, I thought she was playing games, using the kid to trap Aaron. Then I started doubting if the kid was even Aaron's. Even now, I'm not sure if the kid's really an Abbott. If Susanna and Aaron remarry, I'm screwed," Elaine explained.

Vivian glanced at the party's center, where everyone was decked out in designer clothes, sipping champagne and wine, all smiles and elegance.

A hint of envy flickered in her eyes. 'So this is what a rich family's party looks like,' she thought bitterly.

She then murmured, "Isn't there any way to stop them from remarrying?"

Not long after, Taylor walked over. "Ms. Nguyen, Mr. Abbott said you can't be at the party. If you break the rules again, we'll have to ask you to leave the Abbott Mansion temporarily."

Vivian swallowed her bitterness and forced a smile. "Is Mrs. Maria Abbott available now? I'd like to see her."

"She is getting ready for the party and is currently unavailable," Taylor responded coolly.

Vivian had no choice but to look at Elaine. "Join the party. Fill me in later."

"Okay." Elaine's expression was complicated. After Vivian went back inside, she looked at Taylor. "What's Vivian's deal with Aaron? She wanted to see Grandma, but I don't remember any past connections with her!"

Taylor replied respectfully, "I don't know either."

Taylor said nothing more, and Elaine had to drop her questions. She turned and walked towards the party's center. She couldn't let Susanna steal the spotlight; she had to make a stunning impression on the Jones family brothers.

Meanwhile, Vivian returned to the second-floor lounge, which wasn't even where the Abbott family members stayed but a guest lounge.

At that moment, a woman dressed as a maid walked in. "Do you also want to get back at Susanna?"

Vivian turned to look at the maid, her eyes filled with caution. "Who are you?"

The other person raised her head, revealing a cold expression. "Let me introduce myself, my name is Wendy."

At the center of the party, Susanna suddenly sneezed, her body covered in goosebumps.

Austin immediately walked over to her. "What's wrong? Are you cold?"

"Nothing, it's not that cold outside."

Susanna rubbed her arms, not sure why she suddenly sneezed. Maybe it was the wind earlier, making her feel a bit chilly.

"You can't catch a cold now." With that, Austin gently placed his suit jacket over her shoulders, his expression earnest. "If you start feeling unwell, just give me a shout. I'm here for you, always."

Susanna obediently nodded. She looked up and saw Maria coming out, and everyone turned to look.

Aaron stood next to Maria, exuding a captivating charm with his sharp features and tall, slender frame. Simply by being present, he effortlessly drew all eyes towards him.

It had to be acknowledged—Aaron was undeniably handsome!
