Chapter 592 The Finale (Part 2)

Aaron replied, "Because to me, you're family too."

Hearing the word "family," Maud was on the verge of tears and left the ward.

Susanna walked out and told her secretary to get someone to take Maud to the hospital. She watched Maud's back. "I hope you understand what 'family' means. The only person you can rely on is him."

Maud didn't look back, and Susanna wasn't sure if she heard her. Susanna turned and called Edward, "I saw Erica."

She filled him in on what happened with Erica. Edward frowned. "I didn't expect her to go to Emerald Island."

"Do you think she's really Connor's granddaughter?"

"Did you just realize today how good she is at lying?"

Susanna nodded. "But it's still unclear what her connection to Emerald Island is."

"Don't worry; I'll find out."

After Susanna hung up, she went back to the ward and saw doctors rushing in and out. She grabbed the secretary. "What's going on?"

"Mr. Abbott fainted. I heard his condition is bad, and he's been sent to the emergency room."

Susanna watched as Aaron was wheeled out, his face pale. She followed to the emergency room and waited outside.

Lillian and Charles walked over. "What happened to him?"

Susanna replied, "He fainted."

Soon, a doctor came out. "Where's the family?"

It was then that Susanna remembered Aaron seemed to have no family left, with the only remaining member, Maria, still bedridden.

Suppressing her sadness, Susanna stepped forward and said, "I am."

"You're his wife, right? The patient has been overworked, leading to a stroke. He's still in critical condition and needs your signature."

Susanna's hand was cold as she signed the papers. She looked at Lillian and Charles. "Don't let anything slip in front of Maria, understand?"

Charles nodded. "I understand."

Aaron was in the emergency room for a day and a night, and his condition was still critical.

The doctor looked at Susanna and said, "The patient's will to live is not strong. He needs family members to stay by his side and talk to him."

Susanna never knew Aaron wanted to give up on life. Sam also rushed to the hospital, looking sad. "He hasn't had it easy all these years, with no family or close friends. He finally has you, but he made a mistake back then."

Susanna took a deep breath. "Don't worry; I'll stay until he wakes up."

"If you leave, he will lose his will to live. Can you give him a reason to hold on?"

Susanna looked at Aaron lying in the ICU, choking up and unable to speak.

Sam looked at Lillian and Charles. "If you leave, there will be no one to sign if something happens to him. If Maria comes to sign, they might both die."

Charles quickly spoke up, "Don't say such things."

Lillian nodded. "That's right. He will get better."

Susanna took Lillian and Charles to see Aaron. Lillian walked to Aaron's side. "Daddy, can you wake up? I still want to go to the amusement park."

Susanna clearly saw Aaron's eyelids move, a glimmer of joy in her eyes. "Aaron, I know you heard that. If you don't wake up, I'll take the kids and marry someone else."

Charles remained silent beside her. Soon, the news of Aaron's hospitalization spread, and the Abbott Group's stock plummeted.

The branches of the Abbott Family demanded a board meeting to elect a new president. On the day of the board meeting, Susanna took Lillian and Charles to the Abbott Group.

Perhaps because Charles looked a lot like Aaron, he managed to intimidate the crowd. Susanna walked into the conference room, sat in Aaron's chair, and looked at everyone present. "Let's begin, weren't we going to have a meeting?"

A middle-aged man said, "Ms. Jones, this is the Abbott Group's board meeting. It's not appropriate for you to be here."

"That's right, even if this child is Mr. Abbott's, he's still young, and the shares haven't been allocated. You really don't belong here."

Susanna threw out a document. "This is a document personally signed by Maria, authorizing me to act on Aaron's behalf."

"Even so, we still need to elect a president to handle the group's affairs."

"Fine. I will hire a professional to manage the group. There's no need to rush to elect someone, as Aaron will wake up soon." After Susanna proposed this solution, the people were not very satisfied. She knew what they wanted and wouldn't let them have their way.

"Ms. Jones, it's not that we don't want to, but professionals aren't as reliable as our own people. My son is developing a project in the tech department that's very popular recently. He's part of the Abbott Family and can definitely lead the group well."

At that moment, Charles stepped forward and said, "Are you talking about that idiot who messed with the program without permission, causing a bug that delayed the project by six months while we tried to find the problem?"

The middle-aged man's face turned sour. "Mr. Abbott, you don't understand anything, so don't speak nonsense."

Susanna looked over. "Really? But it was my son who found and fixed that bug. Otherwise, who knows how long your project would have been delayed."

Everyone present was stunned. "A little kid can be that capable?"

Susanna continued, "Not long ago, the Abbott Group's website was hacked, and it was also my son who fixed it. If you don't believe me, you can have your son compete with mine."

After Susanna finished speaking, a young man said defiantly, "Fine."

But the middle-aged man stopped him. Competing with a child wouldn't be honorable if they won, and it would be embarrassing if they lost.

The middle-aged man spoke up, "Ms. Jones, an ordinary person might not be able to handle the position of president of the Abbott Group."

"Then I'll supervise. Is that okay?"

"I'm afraid that's not acceptable either."

Lillian angrily spoke up, "Why can't my mom do it? She's so capable. If you don't agree, I'll have my uncles come and talk to you."

The middle-aged man's expression turned unpleasant. "Ms. Jones, if you plan to use power to intimidate, then I have nothing to say."

"Then shut up." Susanna's strong presence at the board meeting left the troublemakers speechless. The major shareholders, who had been watching, ultimately sided with her.

Major shareholders were cunning; if the Abbott Group faced difficulties, the Jones Family could back them up.

Susanna was very busy handling the Abbott Group's affairs. She returned to the hospital, looking exhausted, and said to the comatose Aaron, "If you don't wake up soon, I'm going to leave."

"Don't go." Aaron grabbed her hand, his gaze deep.

Seeing Aaron awake, Susanna's eyes welled up. Then everything returned to normal, and the troublemakers quieted down.

Maud came to see Aaron and said she wanted to go abroad to recuperate and never come back. Aaron bought Maud a property and gave her a large sum of money, sending her away from Lindwell.

As for Erica, it was discovered that she was not Connor's granddaughter but just a caregiver around him, who had been deceiving people. After being exposed, she fled in disgrace, and no one knew where she went.

On the day Aaron was discharged, Susanna looked at him and said, "Now that you've recovered and Maria's condition has stabilized, it's time for me to go back."

Aaron stood in front of her. "Thank you for helping me this time."

"No need to thank me."

"I want to repay you myself."

Susanna raised an eyebrow at him. "Mr. Abbott, you'll have to get in line."

"I have plenty of patience."

Susanna looked at Aaron and said to Lillian and Charles, "Stop hiding. It's time to go back."

Lillian came out and whispered to Aaron, "Daddy, we'll be back soon."

Aaron patted Lillian's head. "I'll be waiting for you."

Charles remained aloof. "Don't think you'll be forgiven so easily."

"Then I'll accept the test for a lifetime."

Charles said nothing. Over time, he seemed to realize Aaron wasn't so bad.

Susanna returned to Novaria, where her family was waiting, as she had been away for too long.

Edward sighed. "I thought you weren't coming back."

Susanna sat next to the pregnant Aviana. "Of course, I had to come back. I'm waiting to meet the little one."

The family had a joyful meal together. Edward called her to the study alone. "What are you going to do about Aaron?"

"He's just a suitor. I'll handle it however I want."

Edward shook his head. "You've grown up, and I can't keep you here anymore."

During Aaron's coma, Susanna had been at the Abbott Group, showing she had feelings for Aaron.

Moreover, Edward had learned about Aaron's background and that Vivian was the real culprit back then.

Edward finally nodded in agreement. "If you don't make Aaron suffer a bit, don't agree to remarry him."

"Don't worry, Edward."

After Aviana gave birth to a daughter, Susanna prepared to go to Lindwell, as the manor hotel there was very popular.

After getting off the plane, Susanna saw Aaron standing by the car, her red lips curling slightly. The future was long; who knew what would happen? Time would tell.
