Chapter 426 The New Bodyguard Looks Like Aaron

Susanna took a deep breath, finally grabbed her phone, but didn't pick up!

Right now, she had no clue how to explain this mess!

Not long after Justin's call ended, he shot her a message: [Susanna, if you don't answer, I'm calling Edward.]

Seeing that, Susanna dialed Justin right away. If he went to Edward, it’d be a total disaster.

Soon enough, Justin's voice came through. "Susanna, finally. Spill it, who's that bodyguard the media snapped pics of?"

Susanna knew this was coming.

She cleared her throat and said, "Who else? Just the new bodyguard. No idea why the media's making stuff up."

"Why does the new bodyguard look kinda like Aaron?"

"Really? Never noticed."

Susanna felt super guilty. Now that Justin knew, it wouldn't be long before the other brothers found out too.

Justin sighed, "Susanna, if he's just a bodyguard, why are you so chummy with him? He even hugged you in front of reporters! Is there more to this?"

"Justin, trust me. At the registration desk, I slipped, and the new bodyguard saved me. Otherwise, I'd be in the hospital."

Susanna used her fall to shift Justin's focus, and it worked. Justin immediately got worried about her.

"Susanna, so that's what happened. I thought you kept Aaron around as a bodyguard."

Susanna laughed, "No way! Justin, you're overthinking it!"

"Alright, I was just worried, so I called. I'll get someone to take down the news so Edward and the others don't see it and get the wrong idea."

Susanna felt super guilty, "Thanks for trusting me, Justin."

"You're my sister, I believe you."

After hanging up, Susanna still felt bad. She rubbed her temples, feeling like she let Justin down.

Marcus asked cautiously, "Ms. Jones, did Mr. Justin Jones figure out Mr. Abbott's identity?"

"He was suspicious, but I said they just looked alike, and he didn't push it."

Marcus continued, "Ms. Jones, should we head back to the hospital or somewhere else?"

They had been interrupted at the hospital earlier.

"Let's go back to Harmony Hill Villa."

Right now, recovering her memory wasn't her top priority.

She mainly wanted to go back and watch Aaron's fight!

When Susanna got back to Harmony Hill Villa, a few cars suddenly pulled up nearby.

Susanna had a bad feeling. Could it be Edward?

But when she saw the Thornberry family get out, she relaxed. At least it wasn't Edward and his crew!

Susanna raised an eyebrow and sneered, "What are you doing here?"

Roman stormed in, fuming, "Susanna, you're shameless. Aiden and that chick at the party were cool with each other, but you had to call the cops and get her a lawyer. What’s your deal?"

Seeing the Thornberry family, Susanna figured they were here for this. She didn't expect Roman to be sticking up for Aiden.

Susanna shot back, "Whether it was cool or not, that's for the cops to decide. Coming to me won't change a thing."

"Susanna, cut the crap. If it weren't for the bodyguard and lawyer you sent, would that girl have the guts to call the cops and sue Aiden? Pull your people back, or don't blame me for getting nasty."

Susanna laughed, "I'd love to see how you plan to get nasty with me."

The Thornberry family had gotten way too cocky lately, talking to her like that!

She wondered if they’d lost their minds!

Roman suddenly softened, took a step closer, and said, "It's been so long. Are you still mad and doing this to get my attention?"

Susanna's face showed pure shock and disbelief. "Who gave you the nerve to say that?"

Like she’d be mad at Roman and do all this to get his attention!

"Susanna, stop pretending. I had nothing to do with that girl from the bar. She was all over me, and nothing happened."

Susanna looked innocent and spread her hands. "So what?"

"So you suddenly left Novaria, went to Radiant Valley and Lindwell for ages, then came back with a broke bodyguard and spread these rumors. Isn't it all to get my attention and piss me off? I've seen these tricks before."

Susanna was speechless.

Roman had a twisted way of thinking. She wondered if the families taken over by the Thornberrys were just as clueless.

Before she went to Radiant Valley, the Thornberrys had proposed a ridiculous engagement.

But her brothers didn't take it seriously. After she went to Radiant Valley and Lindwell, she got delayed. She didn't expect the Thornberrys to twist it like this!

She never took their engagement proposal seriously, nor did she care about Roman's bar antics! She didn't expect them to be so full of themselves and stage this drama!

Susanna looked at Roman and sighed. "Wow, just when I thought people couldn't get any dumber."

Roman frowned, "Susanna, what do you mean?"

"Look at you. What did I do to deserve this? How blind am I to find you attractive? Seriously, who gave you this confidence? Didn't you look in the mirror before leaving? Your face is scaring people away."

Susanna's words were sharp and brutal.

Roman, who'd been pampered all his life, was furious and tried to hit her.

But a strong hand stopped him.

Aaron, with a stern face, coldly said, "Back off!"

Seeing the man in front of him, Roman sneered, "Susanna, you're with this broke dude, aren't you?"
