Chapter 200 Who Dares to Replace Susanna?

Susanna heard Erica's mocking words and responded calmly, "You're right, I'm not very good at playing the piano."

"If you can't, you can't. What's with the "not very good"? Susanna, you that proud? Just say you can't play the piano, no big deal," Erica shot back.

Just as Susanna was about to retort, Peter, who was standing nearby, cut in, "It's absurd to have someone who can't play the piano and has no understanding of music design this venue. I'll recommend to the school that we find a replacement."

Susanna stayed silent, noticing the smug look in Erica's eyes.

Sure enough, nothing good happened when Erica came back.

Peter and his group left with disdain on their faces. Erica lingered a step behind, gazing arrogantly at Susanna. "So, Susanna, been having a blast while I was away? Well, too bad for you, because now that I'm back, your little party is over."

Erica thought about how she had to go to Novaria to serve Charlotte to maintain her position in the Jones family. Only then did she barely keep her place, and Edward stopped forcing her to sign any termination of adoption agreements.

Now, she needed to get rid of Susanna, this eyesore, to marry Aaron smoothly.

Once she married Aaron, she wouldn't care about her position in the Jones family anymore.

Susanna sneered, "We'll see about that!"

Anyway, Susanna wasn't worried; she was about to leave this place soon.

After saying that, she walked past Erica without even looking at her.

Erica stomped her foot in anger. She walked out of the auditorium and said to Peter, "I remember there's a special event in your activity this time, where a student will be invited to perform on stage, right?"

Peter nodded. "That's right, the school recommended two people, and we'll choose one to go on stage."

"Pre-selecting is so boring. Since the school's standards are so low, why not just pick randomly? If it turns out embarrassing, it will only reflect on the school," Erica suggested.

She had already schemed to assign Susanna to perform on stage. The thought of Susanna awkwardly standing there, clueless, amused her.

After that, Erica could swoop in and be the hero. It would not only demonstrate to Aaron that Susanna, this average woman, was no match for her.

Back home, Madison had prepared a big meal for Susanna. "Susanna, you must have been busy at school these past few days. Enjoy it."

After dinner, Susanna looked at Brian. "Brian, I want to practice a piano piece. Can you teach me more?"

She suddenly didn't want to fall behind.

Brian agreed immediately, looking at the suddenly diligent Susanna. "Susanna, why are you so hardworking all of a sudden?"

"Brian, the school wants me to design the auditorium, but Peter, the music team head, thinks I don't get music because I can't play the piano. So, I'm thinking of picking up piano just to prove him wrong," Susanna explained.

She wanted to earn the credits from this project, which would help her graduate.

Brian frowned. "Peter said that about you?"

He was instantly angry, thinking, 'What is Peter's problem? I had arranged this music team's performance specifically for Susanna. And he actually said Susanna didn't understand music!'

‘Susanna's musical talent was so high; how could she not understand music?’

Susanna nodded. "I want to take charge of this project; the credits are quite high. I want to give it a try."

"Alright, Susanna, you can definitely succeed. Practice the pieces I taught you before," said Brian.

He smiled on the surface, but there was a dark look in his eyes. He'd have to have a word with Peter later.

This concert was supposed to be Brian's way of apologizing to Susanna.

Who dared to replace her?

The next day, Susanna got a call from Dick's defense attorney right after she arrived at school. "Dick is requesting a settlement. What's your opinion?"

"Does he have the nerve demanding a settlement? Even if I don't sue his mom, his financial crimes will land him in jail," Susanna said, her tone cold.

"My client Dick is pleading with you, considering your past relationship, to give him a break. If you could lend him some money, he wouldn't go to jail. He also said that he would definitely pay you back once he's out."

Susanna chuckled, "I'm not interested in settling. Any more problems, talk to my lawyer directly."

With that, Susanna ended the call. She had no intention of wasting her time and energy on someone like Dick.

After arriving at school, her counselor quickly called her to the office. "Susanna, regarding the auditorium design, the school has some thoughts."

"I still want to give it a try. Although I've only been learning the piano for a short time, I quite like music and am not completely ignorant of the piano."

After Susanna finished speaking, the counselor was stunned for a moment. "Susanna, are you overthinking? The school has no intention of replacing you. However, Mr. Peter did express some dissatisfaction, so we've decided to let you study piano in the music department. There will be a dedicated teacher to teach you. Are you willing to go?"

"Oh, of course," Susanna agreed immediately. How could she not go if there was a teacher to teach her?

After class, Susanna went to the music department to attend a lecture. It was her first time attending a class there, and she found that the students there had a certain elegance.

As the class concluded, the teacher called her over, "You're Susanna, right? Come with me to the next classroom. I'll teach you. Do you have any prior experience?"

"A little bit."

"Then play your favorite piece for me."

Sitting at the piano, Susanna suddenly remembered a piece that Jessica Fisher, the orphanage director, had taught her when she was a child.

At that time, Jessica always said she had talent but also sighed a lot.

She knew why Jessica sighed because learning the piano was expensive and not something a child like her could afford.

But now, everything was fine.

Susanna was very grateful to Jessica for her guidance. Her favorite piece was actually this one.

She took a deep breath and played the piece Jessica had taught her from memory.

For a moment, the piano music spread throughout the building.

Outside, Erica had come to the school with Peter to cause trouble, but the school seemed to value Susanna and refused to replace her.

Peter had no choice but to agree to let Susanna stay for now.

Erica looked at Peter, puzzled. "Can't we change the venue or postpone the music festival?"

It could be effective to use this as a threat against the school.

Peter shook his head. "No, the boss called last night and insisted on holding the music festival at this school."

Erica couldn't comprehend Brian's actions, yet Brian remained unyielding. Otherwise, she would have approached him directly.

Let Susanna stay and embarrass herself at the concert!

At that moment, Erica suddenly heard a familiar piano piece coming from the nearby music building.

Erica's face changed dramatically. "How is this piece being played here?"

Could it be her?
