Chapter 541 A Spectacular Show

Vivian had put up with it for five long years, but now that she was the President's daughter, Elaine still had the nerve to humiliate her like this.

The slap left Elaine completely dumbfounded.

Elaine clutched her face and yelled, "You actually hit me?" Maud quickly grabbed her arm, "Calm down. Look around, this isn't the place to lose it."

Elaine, still holding her face, cried, "I got slapped, and you expect me to just take it? Are you seriously going to let her treat someone from the Abbott Family like this?"

Her outburst immediately caught everyone's attention.

A slap at a fancy event like this was pretty shocking, and people started to stare.

Susanna was shocked that Vivian finally snapped and slapped Elaine after being picked on for the past five years in the Abbott Family.

Susanna shot Amelia a look: This is your moment to shine.

Amelia quickly smiled and stepped up next to Vivian, saying, "You can't just hit someone at a party. Apologize to her right now."

Vivian looked at her in disbelief, "Why should I apologize? She insulted me first. I couldn't take it anymore, so I hit her. You have no idea what those five years in the Abbott Family were like for me. And now she still dares to humiliate me. Why should I put up with it?"

Vivian finished in one breath, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders.

She glanced at the slapped Elaine and felt no regret.

She had waited too long for this moment, and today she finally got her revenge.

Just then, Owen's voice cut through the tension, "Vivian, what are you doing? Apologize to Ms. Abbott right now. She's a guest; how could you hit her?"

Vivian turned and saw Owen, her anger slowly fading.

But she was still defiant, "Dad, I don't want to apologize. Elaine used to bully me a lot."

Elaine was shocked to hear this, "You actually call Owen 'Dad'? But isn't your dad a worker who passed away long ago?"

Elaine's face twisted, and just as she was about to say more, Amelia jumped in, "What did Vivian's father do? I'm really curious."

"He was just a security guard captain at a mall." Elaine's words made Vivian's face turn red with embarrassment. She wished she could disappear.

Her background was something she always wanted to hide.

Especially now that she was trying to become the President's daughter, she didn't expect Elaine to spill the beans like that.

It was just plain mean!

Vivian noticed the stares from everyone around her and felt even more humiliated. She instinctively looked at Owen, hoping he'd back her up.

But Owen frowned, clearly disappointed.

Amelia then looked at Owen and said, "Dad, since Vivian's father was a security guard, you two must have a lot in common."

Someone nearby chimed in, "Yeah, Mr. Richardson, we've never heard you mention such an old friend before. Is there a story there?"

Owen didn't answer right away, feeling a bit awkward. What kind of connection could he possibly have with some random security guard?

A security guard wasn't even in the same league as him.

Susanna almost wanted to clap when she saw this unfold. She knew Elaine's presence would stir things up, and Elaine didn't disappoint.

Susanna had already planted seeds of discord between Elaine and Vivian.

With Elaine's fiery personality, she was bound to cause trouble, and Vivian, who had been pushed around for so long, wouldn't just take it lying down.

When these two strong-willed women clashed, it was bound to get messy.

At that moment, Maud stepped in to smooth things over, "This is Mr. Richardson's private business. He's always doing good deeds, so it's no surprise he didn't mention it."

Owen forced a smile and nodded, "Maud said it perfectly. I haven't seen that person many times, but we've always had a good relationship."

Maud continued, "Elaine was out of line just now. She shouldn't have caused a scene here. Elaine, apologize to her right now."

Elaine shot back, "Why should I apologize? Vivian hit me first. Why should I apologize to the person who hit me?"

Amelia saw her chance to stir the pot, "Vivian, it's wrong to hit someone first. You should apologize to Ms. Abbott. If she gets a lawyer involved, it could be a big headache for you."

Amelia was reminding Vivian of her criminal record. If a lawyer got involved, things could get messy.

Vivian still didn't want to apologize, but Owen frowned and said sternly, "Vivian, look at how Amelia is handling this. You should learn from her about seeing the bigger picture. Apologize to Ms. Abbott right now. Do you hear me? In the Richardson family, we don't have daughters who hit people."

Amelia smiled and added, "That's right. Dad has always taught us to be polite and not to hit people casually."

Susanna could see that Vivian was about to lose it.

Vivian probably thought Owen would back her up, but she didn't expect him to force her to apologize to Elaine.

It seemed like Vivian still didn't understand her own position.

Vivian was about to explode. Today was supposed to be her moment of glory, but everything was ruined because of Elaine's appearance.

Out of respect for Owen, Vivian reluctantly said to Elaine, "Sorry."

Elaine immediately lit up. She had been a bit nervous, but Vivian actually apologized.

She wanted to say more, but Maud pinched her secretly and whispered, "That's enough. Be careful, or I won't bring you out next time."

Hearing this, Elaine sulkily shut her mouth. Once she married into a wealthy family in Novaria, she wouldn't have to listen to Maud's nonsense anymore.

Susanna saw that the drama was winding down and said, "Everyone, please take your seats. The banquet is about to start."

Vivian, still fuming, turned to Susanna and snapped, "Ms. Jones, the way you're talking about today's banquet, people might think you're the host."

Elaine chimed in, "That's right. Susanna even told us that she owns the Velvet Sky Ballroom Hotel."
