Chapter 96 Some People Need a Lesson

Susanna didn't expect to meet Erica and Elaine at the airport, but seeing that they didn't have any luggage with them, it was obvious they weren't here for a trip.

Were they here to pick someone up?

Elaine immediately said arrogantly, "What a small world, running into you everywhere."

Susanna responded coldly, "I didn't expect to run into you either."

They walked towards the airport together, heading to the arrivals hall on the ground floor.

Erica glanced at Susanna and asked directly, "Are you here to pick someone up too?"

Elaine sneered, "Of course she's here to pick someone up. How could she afford a plane ticket with her income? After all, since flights are so expensive, she probably travels by train or bus everywhere."

Susanna raised an eyebrow. "Elaine, after all these years of education, your attitude and manners are still like that of a child. Do you feel superior just from taking a plane?"

"Susanna, who do you think acts like a child? I graduated from a prestigious foreign university, unlike you who dropped out halfway."

"Is it considered as a prestigious university, buying a diploma from a foreign country? You seem to have a misunderstanding about prestigious institutions."

Susanna felt like Elaine was buzzing around like a fly, got annoyed listening to her.

She felt she had to teach her a lesson.

Didn't she know Elaine's true colors after three years in the Abbott family?

Elaine felt a bit embarrassed but couldn't retort, so she just zipped it in frustration.

Erica's eyes flashed with mockery. Elaine was indeed foolish, but she was lucky to be born into a wealthy family, pampered and privileged since childhood.

Erica glanced at Susanna. "I'm here to pick up my brother, who are you here for?"

Upon hearing the word "brother," Susanna calmly replied, "I'm here to pick up my brother too."

Edward and Aviana were coming, and she definitely wanted to welcome them especially since Edward and Aviana had been so good to her.

Erica looked surprised. "You have a brother?"

Wasn't Susanna an orphan, relying on unreliable foster parents and Madison? Where did this brother come from?

Elaine chimed in mockingly. "Isn't it trendy these days to claim you have a brother?"

A glint of understanding flashed in Erica's eyes.

Susanna didn't feel like explaining anything to Elaine; she felt it was pointless.

She walked away to distance herself from Erica and Elaine, not wanting to be around them as it might affect her luck.

Glancing at the time, she knew the plane should have arrived smoothly.

Soon, she received a call from Edward. "Susanna, we just landed. Didn't I tell you not to come all this way to pick us up?"

"It's fine, I don't have any classes today, and it's okay if I don't go to the studio for a day."

Moreover, with the situation involving Grace and Andrew, she didn't plan on going to the studio these days to avoid unnecessary trouble with Dick.

With the old neighborhood being redeveloped again, Grace and Andrew weren't prepared to let her off the hook that easily.

With her brothers coming over, Susanna felt a sense of security.

She still wanted to welcome Edward and Aviana home, saying, "Madison went to buy groceries early in the morning, so we can have lunch as soon as we get back."

"Alright, we'll take our time coming out."

Edward hung up, looking at his wife Aviana. "Why don't we just walk out instead of taking the VIP car directly to leave the airport? Susanna might get suspicious."

Aviana nodded. "Sure, it's been a while since we walked out from the ground floor. Let's consider it a stroll."

They walked out with the rest of the passengers from the cabin.

Shortly after, Edward received a call from Erica, as frowned his eyebrows. "Hello?"

"Edward, I saw your plane arrived at the airport. I'm waiting outside. Let's go have a meal together. I've already booked a restaurant."

Upon hearing this, Edward's expression changed. His itinerary was supposed to be confidential, so how did Erica know he was on this flight?

Next moment, Edward said, "I'll just leave directly by car, not coming out that way."

"Then I'll wait for you in the parking lot."

"No need, I have something to attend to later. You go back first."

Since Susanna was still waiting outside, he couldn't go out to meet Erica.

"Edward, I'm already here. You don't have to be so polite with me. I'll go wait for you in the parking lot."

After saying that, Erica hung up. She wouldn't give Edward a chance to refuse her. She wanted to make a good impression after she had been informed that Edward and Aviana coming. Edward’s agreeing to attend her engagement was already a pleasant surprise.

In the future, when she married Aaron, with Edward as her support, she could do as she pleased in the Abbott family in Lindwell!

At that time, people like Susanna were simply not worthy of her attention!

Erica looked up and intentionally walked over to Susanna, saying, "My brother is taking the VIP car to the parking lot. Is your brother not here yet?"

Susanna raised an eyebrow. "Erica, can't you resist showing off?"

Erica adjusted her expression. "That's not what I meant. I was just asking casually. There is no need to get so angry."

Elaine chimed in, "Erica, let's go. Susanna is just jealous. After all, these are privileges only we, the wealthy, have!"

Susanna rolled her eyes. "The moment I hear you talk about privileges, I feel disgusted."

Erica didn't want to waste time and hurriedly walked away. If Edward arrived before her, she definitely wouldn't wait for him.

Ten minutes later, Susanna saw Edward and Aviana coming out from inside. She waved. "Edward and Aviana, I'm here."

Edward walked over with a smile, patting her head. "You've been waiting for a long time, are you tired?"

"Not really, not much time."

Aviana cautiously looked around, not seeing Erica, as breathed a sigh of relief. "Let's go, I'm a bit of tired."

Edward understood her glance and immediately led Susanna out of the airport to avoid being seen by Erica.

After getting into a taxi, Edward's phone kept ringing. He sneakily glanced at it and saw it was Erica calling.

But he couldn't answer.

Edward switched his phone to silent mode.

Susanna glanced over. "Edward, aren't you going to answer? What if it's urgent?"

"No urgent matters. I'm on vacation, but there are still things at work that need my attention. I'm not a heartless machine that the company can function without me."

Edward calmly and indifferently found an excuse.

Aviana looked at him deeply, finding he was indeed cunning. But it was for the best for now. However, she might have underestimated Erica; how did she manage to find out about their plans?

Susanna didn't suspect anything and sent a message in the group chat: [Edward and Aviana have arrived. We're going home for a big dinner tonight. Austin, make sure not to be late.]

Austin replied with an emoji.

He was about to put down his phone to leave work early for dinner when it kept ringing.

He saw it was Erica calling.
