Chapter 153 How to Play a Drunk Woman

Dick frowned and said, "Mr. Abbott took Susanna away. She is drunk. Mom, how could you deliberately pour the wrong drink?"

"Sweetheart, you don't understand it. If you drink on behalf of Susanna and get drunk, wouldn't she have to take care of you instead? If Susanna gets drunk herself and you take her home to look after her, wouldn't that create a special bond between you two? And if things escalate to a point where you end up being intimate, wouldn't that be ideal?" Harper said.

She thought Dick was too naive; she was giving him a chance to shine.

Dick sighed, "Mom, didn't I tell you not to interfere in this matter? Mr. Abbott was very unhappy about Susanna getting drunk. I'm sure I've left a bad impression."

He had hoped to make a good impression on Aaron, whom he coincidentally met for dinner today, to help his pursuit of Susanna in the future.

But his mother had ruined everything.

Harper, sensing the tension, spoke anxiously, "Dick, what do you think we should do? Perhaps I should step in and explain to Mr. Abbott, taking full responsibility and admitting it was my mistake. Considering his wealth and status, he likely wouldn't hold a grudge against a middle-aged woman like myself, don't you think?"

"I don't know. We'll have to wait until Susanna wakes up tomorrow, and I'll explain everything to her. Don't worry. Susanna isn't the type to hold grudges. As long as she doesn't mind, there won't be any problem," Dick comforted her.

"Then I'm relieved. I believe you can win Susanna over. After all, Dick, you're so outstanding; no girl would refuse you."

Dick smiled smugly. He was quite experienced in wooing girls, and winning Susanna over was just a matter of time.

"By the way, Dick, who exactly is this wealthy Mr. Abbott?"

"Mom, Mr. Abbott runs a publicly traded company and is quite wealthy. Why do you ask?"

To prevent his mother from causing more trouble, Dick didn't tell her that Aaron was the heir to the richest family, the Abbott family. A man of Mr. Abbott's status wouldn't want his identity broadcasted everywhere.

"Dick, your cousin just returned from studying abroad and is still single. If we introduce her to Mr. Abbott, wouldn't our family's status rise even higher?" Harper imagined this as saying.

"Mom, let's talk about this later. Mr. Abbott might not even be interested."

"Your cousin studied abroad and has seen the world. How could she not be a match?"

Dick didn't know how to respond. Aaron's previous fiancée was the daughter of the prestigious Jones family in Novaria, and even that engagement was called off. How could his cousin possibly match up to Aaron?

He took out his phone and sent a Whats App message to Susanna: [Susanna, I'm really sorry. My mom made a mistake and poured you whiskey, causing you to get drunk.]

He needed to explain to Susanna in advance to show his sincerity.

On the other side, Susanna's phone beeped, but she didn't check it.

She was currently pretending to be drunk and couldn't just take out her phone.

But Susanna was worried about what to do if her family called. Should she answer or not? If Austin found out, she'd be in trouble.

She leaned back in the car's rear seat, still conscious but a bit dizzy. Luckily, she had thrown up the alcohol in the restaurant's restroom earlier; otherwise, she'd be much more drunk now.

Susanna, feeling dizzy and confused, wondered where Aaron was taking her, since he probably didn't know where she lived.

She started to panic.

Aaron, sitting beside her, glanced at the drunken woman and rubbed his temples, unsure of what to do with her.

After a while, the driver couldn't help but ask, "Sir, where are we going?"

Aaron replied gloomily, "Don't ask me. Ask her."

The driver glanced at the rearview mirror and whispered, "Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Abbott is already asleep."

'Asleep?'

Aaron turned to look at Susanna, who indeed had her eyes closed. He sighed, "Take us home."

The driver then turned the car around, and after more than half an hour, they arrived outside the wedding villa.

Aaron got out of the car and bent down to carry the sleeping Susanna out.

Susanna wasn't deeply asleep. Hearing the noise, she almost woke up but then realized she was in Aaron's arms and quickly closed her eyes again.

Her heart raced as she heard his footsteps. She wondered where Aaron was taking her.

Could it be a hotel?

At that moment, she heard the maid Brenda's voice. "Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Abbott is drunk. Should I prepare some milk?"

"Yes."

Aaron responded and carried her upstairs.

Hearing Brenda's voice, Susanna realized she was back at the wedding villa and pondered whether she should keep pretending to be asleep.

While she was debating, she was placed on the bed.

Aaron looked down at her, then took off his jacket, having worked up a sweat carrying her.

He turned and went to the bathroom, and soon, the sound of running water could be heard.

Hearing the sound, Susanna slowly opened her eyes and saw the familiar wedding bedroom, which she had personally decorated.

Her feelings were complicated. She hadn't expected to return to the wedding villa in this way before the divorce.

At that moment, her phone rang.

Susanna quickly picked it up and answered in a low voice, "Madison."

"Susanna, why aren't you home yet? Where are you?"

"I'm working late at the company. I'll be back later. You rest first. If anything comes up, I'll call Arthur to pick me up. Don't worry."

After Susanna said this, Madison didn't ask further and hung up.

She quickly put her phone down and saw Dick's apology message. She had already realized Harper had poured the wrong drink when she tasted the whiskey.

Feeling complicated, she didn't know what to say and didn't reply.

Susanna stared at the ceiling, feeling confused. Should she wake up or continue pretending to be asleep?

At that moment, Brenda knocked and entered. "Mrs. Abbott, you're awake. Milk will help you feel better."

Susanna's expression stiffened. Now, she didn't have to decide whether to wake up or not.

She forced a smile. "Okay, thank you."

Leaning against the headboard, Susanna sipped the milk. Brenda knew her preferences well, and the milk made her feel much better.

"Mrs. Abbott, I also prepared some snacks. You probably didn't eat much while drinking, so you can have some if you get hungry," Brenda said.

Hearing this, Susanna realized she was indeed hungry.

After entering the private room, she hadn't started eating before drinking a glass of whiskey.

Susanna took the snacks and started eating. As a pregnant woman, she couldn't afford to go hungry.

At that moment, the bathroom door opened, and Aaron walked out in a bathrobe. Seeing her eating on the bed, the man, who was usually a clean freak, frowned.
