Chapter 380 There's Actually a Woman by the Boss's Side?

But how could Susanna just stop? Ignoring what he said, she yanked open the car door and bolted.

Aaron watched her through the window as she hopped into her car, then finally looked away. He stayed slouched in the back seat, legs all sprawled out.

He loosened his tie, feeling a bit cooler.

Couldn't help himself, he lit a cigarette and took a deep drag, finally cooling off.

He stared hard at the nearby wedding villa.

Meanwhile, Susanna finally let out a sigh of relief after getting into her car and driving off.

Thinking about that little kid who saw everything earlier, she felt super embarrassed. She just wanted to mess with Aaron to throw him off and keep him from getting suspicious.

Especially now, she couldn't afford any slip-ups.

She never thought a kid would catch her; it was so embarrassing.

The secretary in the passenger seat asked, "Ms. Jones, did Mr. Abbott really not suspect your identity?"

"He's always been suspicious but hasn't found any proof. By the way, when I went to see Madison, no one followed me, right?"

"Nope, no one did."

"That's good. It's weird, though. Aaron clearly suspects me but hasn't sent anyone to tail me. I can't figure out what he's up to."

Susanna thought about the overwhelming sense of familiarity she felt when she saw the wedding villa, which nearly swallowed her whole.

Last time at Velvet Sky Ballroom, seeing Elaine and Vivian tumble down the stairs, she vaguely remembered something.

She rubbed her temples, suddenly feeling like she was about to remember everything.

That night, Susanna went back to the hospital to sleep with Lillian.

The next morning, Susanna woke up and stared at the ceiling in shock. She had dreamt about Aaron last night, and they had been super close in the dream. It was so crazy.

Susanna got up to wash her face and calm down. She glanced at the sleeping Lillian and quietly left the room.

She went outside for some fresh air and happened to see Aaron in a suit stepping out of the elevator, surrounded by doctors and nurses.

Seeing Aaron walking towards her, Susanna's eyes involuntarily fell on his shirt, thinking that Aaron must have a killer body.

She quickly pulled herself together and looked at Aaron, saying, "You're at the hospital so early? Got your work sorted?"

"I managed to free up a week. I'm here to get settled in and will start my hospital stay tonight."

Susanna pressed her lips together: "Alright, if you get bored in hospital, Lillian and I can keep you company."

Aaron raised an eyebrow. "Come with me somewhere at noon."

"Where to?"

"You'll know when we get there."

Susanna nodded. "Okay."

Aaron made a quick stop at the hospital to check on his admission, then rushed off to the company to handle work.

After having lunch with Lillian at noon, Susanna got a message from Aaron: [Come downstairs.]

Susanna went outside the hospital and saw Aaron's car parked outside.

The window rolled down, and Aaron was sitting in the back. He said, "Get in."

Susanna opened the car door and sat beside him, noticing a laptop on his lap, still working.

At that moment, Aaron glanced at a document and instantly turned cold, saying to Tyler, "The data's wrong. Get everyone online for a video call."

Watching Aaron work so seriously next to her, his mature and handsome profile looked way different from his usual self.

Hearing Aaron call for a video conference, Susanna wisely sat in the corner, keeping quiet.

Aaron spoke coldly, "The data's wrong again. How did you even do the research? Think you can fool the clients with this? Even if you can, the final sales numbers won't lie. How are we gonna explain this to the clients then?"

Aaron's voice was icy and authoritative, leaving everyone speechless.

Aaron glanced around and said, "What, no one has anything to say? If the data's still wrong tomorrow, you can all go to HR and resign."

"Mr. Abbott, which part of the data is incorrect? Please tell us."

Aaron was fuming. "If I have to do everything, what's your job?"

Susanna peeked at the data on the laptop and then spoke up, "If the research data is correct, then the error must be in the spreadsheet."

After she spoke, the conference room fell silent.

Everyone looked at each other, wondering who had just spoken.

One person pointed to Aaron's avatar, indicating it came from his side.

The others widened their eyes in shock. Could it be that there was a woman beside Aaron?

Aaron turned to look at her. "How did you figure that out?"

Susanna rolled her eyes. "Because my team often makes such basic mistakes when reporting financials. I'm used to it."

A hint of a smile flashed in Aaron's eyes, but it disappeared as quickly as it came when he looked back at the laptop, as if it had never been there.

He spoke coldly, "Do you know what to do now? Do you need me to correct the data for you?"

"No, we'll verify it immediately."

Aaron closed the laptop and rubbed his temples, looking a bit tired.

Susanna, feeling a bit empathetic, said, "Being a boss is indeed exhausting. Sometimes, seeing your team act like fools is even more frustrating."

Aaron put down his hand and looked at her. "Ms. Ramirez, what kind of business do you usually run?"

Realizing she had slipped up, Susanna quickly covered, "Just some family business, a dead-end job, nothing compared to the young and promising Mr. Abbott."

Aaron gave her a deep look. "It's been four years. Haven't you remembered anything from the past?"

"No."

After answering, Susanna sneaked a glance at him, becoming instantly wary.

However, Aaron didn't push the matter further, as if he had just asked casually.

Soon, the car stopped.

Susanna saw that they were outside a famous restaurant she had heard of in Novaria.

This restaurant also had a branch in Novaria.

Susanna looked at him in surprise. "Mr. Abbott, why'd you bring me here?"

"For lunch."

Aaron got out of the car, and she had no choice but to follow. "But I've already eaten. However, I can keep you company. If it weren't for your upcoming hospital stay, you wouldn't be so busy. Let me treat you today."

"I don't let women pay."

After entering the private room, the waiter poured water and left.

Susanna sat down and looked around the room, noticing that Aaron was staring at her.

She shifted her attention to her water glass. "Why are you looking at me like that, Mr. Abbott? Do I look particularly beautiful today?"

"When are you taking Lillian back to Novaria?"
