Chapter 481 Don't Believe It? Just Wait and See

Maud's jaw practically hit the floor when she saw Vivian. "What the heck are you doing here?"

Ivy was just as shocked and blurted out, "Vivian, weren't you supposed to be locked up? How on earth are you here?"

Ivy couldn't help but think, 'Is this some doppelgänger? But dang, they look exactly the same.'

Vivian shot Maud a smug look and said, "Bet you didn't see this coming, huh?"

They had schemed together to swap the bone marrow, but only Vivian got the short end of the stick and ended up in prison. Totally unfair.

Maud's face was a mess of emotions. She glanced at Aaron and demanded, "Aaron, what’s going on? Did you bust Vivian out?"

Maud was fuming. Aaron had actually sprung Vivian from jail, but when Susanna had threatened her earlier, he just stood there like a statue.

Vivian smirked, "My being here has zilch to do with the Abbott family."

Maud was floored. "Then how did you get out? Did you break out or something?"

"I didn't bust out! But what about you? Weren't you on probation? You can't just leave Lindwell and show up here. If I call the cops, you'll be in the same boat as me."

Maud's face went ghostly white. "Vivian, don't forget Ramond is still with the Abbott family."

"Don't even try to use Ramond against me. He's not with the Abbott family anymore. Did you really think I'd come to Philly without him?"

While Aaron was away from Lindwell, Vivian had managed to sneak Ramond out.

Vivian was about to say more, but two burly bodyguards in black approached her. "You can't be here."

Vivian's face fell. "I'm tight with the Abbott family. We're just chatting."

"Sorry, you can't crash the party. Leave now, or we'll have to get rough."

Vivian, pissed but knowing she had no choice, turned and left, fuming inside.

One day, she'd make sure everyone knew she was the president's daughter. She wasn't some nobody.

After Vivian left, Maud was still in shock. "Aaron, did you see that? That was Vivian. How did she get out of prison?"

If Vivian could get out, maybe Maud had a shot too.

Aaron's voice was ice-cold. "Don't worry about it. Head to the airport now."

"Aaron, I don't wanna go back. If Vivian can be here, why can't I?"

Aaron gave his secretary a look, and soon a bunch of bodyguards came over and escorted Maud and Ivy out of the party.

After Susanna left the party, she couldn't stop thinking about Vivian getting out of prison. She was both furious and disgusted.

Back then, Vivian had secretly swapped the bone marrow Aaron had donated, almost dooming Charles to a life in a sterile room, waiting to die.

She had even wanted to kill Vivian at one point. She could never forgive her for what she did.

The secretary noticed her mood and asked, "Ms. Jones, you don't look too happy after seeing Owen. Did things not go well?"

"We didn't break up, but things are a hot mess right now."

"Ms. Jones, chill out. This project isn't a big deal. Your family just wanted you to have something to do. If Mr. Edward knew you were stressing over this, he'd feel awful."

Susanna rubbed her temples. "It's not about the project. Do you know who I saw in Owen's suite?"

The secretary hesitated. "Who?"

"Vivian."

The secretary's eyes widened. "Didn't wesend her to prison? How the heck is she in Philly and so close to Owen? Is she his side chick? Could that kid be Owen's?"

"I thought the same thing at first, that Ramond was Owen's secret kid. But turns out, Vivian is actually Owen's illegitimate daughter."

The secretary was stunned. "That's wild. Given how much Vivian loves to show off, if she had that kind of status, she'd have flaunted it ages ago. It's weird she kept it under wraps."

"Vivian played the pity card, acting all helpless and alone, which is why Aaron took her in. So, she kept her status as Owen's daughter a secret."

But Vivian never saw it coming when Susanna sent her to prison, and Aaron didn't lift a finger to help. So, Vivian played her trump card as Owen's daughter.

At that time, Aaron was in Philly, and Susanna was all about Charles's treatment, giving Vivian the chance to have Owen sneak her back.

The secretary said, "Ms. Jones, this is Philly. Handling a woman shouldn't be a big deal. If Vivian escaped from prison and something happened to her here, I doubt the Lindwell cops would care, including Owen."

"I know, but Vivian is Owen's daughter. If we go hard on her, it'll mess up our relationship with him. Even though Owen's a bit of a jerk, he wants to protect Vivian now. She must have something on him."

Owen's intentions were pretty clear.

"Ms. Jones, this is easy. We can just have someone snatch Vivian and dump her somewhere she'll never get out of."

"Let's hold off for now. I need to think this through."

Susanna leaned back in the car. She wasn't gonna let Vivian off the hook that easily.

Vivian coming to Philly and using Owen's power was definitely gonna stir up trouble.

While Susanna was deep in thought, she got a message from Amelia: [Susanna, you left the party so early. My bad for not being a good host. Let's do dinner next time.]

Susanna's lips curled into a sly smile. How could she forget this?

Even if she couldn't blow this up publicly, she could let Amelia in on it.

If Owen wanted to play hardball, she'd play right back.

She wanted Owen to get that Vivian, as a criminal, wasn't someone he could just shield.
