Chapter 522 Rescue
Susanna had just woken up when Aviana burst in, asking if she had gotten back together with Aaron. She was instantly confused.
Susanna yawned and said, "Aviana, why are you asking this? I haven't gotten back together with Aaron."
"If you haven't, then what's all this on the internet?"
Aviana shoved her phone in Susanna's face, showing a photo of her and Aaron on the street, posted online.
Susanna scratched her head and said, "This is impossible. I had my secretary handle this. How are there still photos out there?"
Realizing she had let something slip, she looked up at Aviana and said, "Aviana, you have to help me out here. My relationship with Aaron isn't like what the reports are saying."
Aviana sat on the bed and said, "Susanna, you don't need to explain to me. Whether you get back with Aaron is your business. Even though bad things happened between you two, and I still have my doubts about Aaron, he's still Lillian and Charles's dad. It's not surprising you have contact with him."
"Aviana, you're so kind. Edward is lucky to have you."
"But I just want to ask you one thing: do you still have feelings for him?"
Susanna paused and said, "Aviana, I can't answer that right now. So many years have passed, and I'm definitely not the same Susanna as before. You can be sure of that."
Aviana patted her head and said, "Since you can say that, I'm relieved. But I don't know if your brothers will believe it."
Susanna instantly worried.
Aviana had always been on her side. But if Edward found out, it would be a disaster.
Susanna quickly said, "I'll have my secretary investigate who leaked the photo. But Aviana, you have to explain to Edward that meeting Aaron wasn't about getting back together. We were just discussing the kids. Lillian likes him a lot."
If Edward got angry, no one could stop him.
"Okay, I'll explain to Edward. But as for your relationship with Aaron, I really can't help you. Matters of the heart are complicated."
"Aviana, there's no way I could get back with him. Our only connection now is Lillian and Charles. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't meet him at all. Besides, he's working with Owen against the Jones Family. I won't tolerate anyone hurting our family."
"Alright, then I'm relieved. You should get some rest."
Aviana gave Susanna a deep look. As a woman, she understood Susanna's feelings. Susanna probably hadn't completely let go of Aaron.
After all, she had been dealing with amnesia for the past five years and hadn't really sorted out her feelings for Aaron.
Now that her memory was back, it would take some time to figure out her emotions.
After Aviana left, Susanna grabbed her phone and called her secretary. "Find out who leaked that photo and spread this nonsense!"
"Yes, Ms. Jones, no problem. I've already got someone on it."
After hanging up, Susanna saw the headline about her and Aaron. The article even hinted at them planning to remarry.
Was the paparazzi who wrote this article overthinking things?
The content seemed off. If it was just a paparazzi trying to grab attention, they wouldn't write it like this.
Just then, Susanna got a call from Amelia, who was crying on the other end. "Susanna, what should I do? My mom found out about Vivian."
"What? How did Paige find out? Didn't I tell you not to let her know until we had solid evidence against Vivian?"
Susanna knew Paige's health wasn't great and that she was always in a sanatorium.
If Paige found out Owen had an illegitimate daughter and planned to bring her into the Richardson Family to inherit everything, it would be a huge blow. Especially for someone as ill as Paige, it would only worsen her condition.
"I don't know how my mom found out. I've been hiding it well, and the media has been controlled. So I suspect Vivian might have deliberately leaked the information to her."
"Don't panic. How is Paige doing now?"
"She's still in the hospital, and Vivian is also staying there. I'm really worried about my mom. I don't trust anyone around me right now."
"Don't worry; I'm coming over." Susanna quickly got ready and headed to the hospital. While in the car, she got a call from Edward.
Seeing the call, Susanna hesitated but didn't answer.
Soon after, she got calls from Arthur and Austin, but she ignored them too. She instructed her secretary to inform callers that she was in a crucial meeting and unavailable to take any calls.
She glanced at her unread WhatsApp messages. Edward, Arthur, and Austin had all sent messages asking about her and Aaron.
But she believed Aviana would handle it for her.
Right now, she needed to get to the hospital.
Soon, Susanna arrived at the hospital. Amelia was sitting alone outside the operating room, her eyes red and looking pitiful.
Susanna was about to approach when someone called out to her.
She stopped and looked up. "Is it you?"
