Chapter 569 I'm Just Going to Trick You

Owen was a bit taken aback when Eugene and Daphne gave in, but he quickly said, "Alright, lay out your conditions, and I'll do my best to meet them."

If Eugene and Daphne were cool with Ramond being around, it would be a huge load off Owen's mind, saving him a ton of hassle and future headaches about rivals trying to take advantage.

Vivian, though, had a bad feeling. What kind of conditions were they gonna throw out there?

Daphne looked straight at Vivian and said, "I have just one condition: Vivian has to leave the Richardson Family and never come near the kid again. If that happens, I'll accept Ramond."

Vivian went pale and almost lost her balance. "No way!" Vivian shouted. "I'm his biological mother. I have to stay with him. What gives you the right to kick me out?"

Owen was deep in thought and didn't say a word. Vivian sensed something was off and grabbed Owen's arm. "He's just been brought to the Richardson Family and doesn't know anything yet. If you kick me out, it'll be terrible for him in this new place. You don't want to mess up Ramond's future, do you?"

Daphne replied coldly, "Don't worry about that. We'll give Ramond a top-notch education, and he'll be way more successful than if he stayed with you. As long as you're around, everyone will remember that Ramond is an illegitimate child with an illegitimate mother."

Vivian shot back, "Shut up, Daphne! Who are you calling an illegitimate mother? Ramond is my son. Wherever I go, he goes. You can't kick me out."

It hit Vivian then what Amelia was up to. Amelia wanted to use this to get rid of Vivian. How cruel! If she left, Ramond would be at their mercy. She had worked so hard to bring Ramond back to the Richardson Family to change her fate. If she got kicked out, what was the point? She couldn't let them take Ramond away.

"Vivian, shut up! Who taught you to talk like that?" Owen saw Vivian's angry outburst, which was a stark contrast to Amelia's earlier plea on her knees.

Both were his daughters, but in terms of character, Vivian really couldn't compare to Amelia. Owen finally favored Amelia completely.

Vivian looked at Owen with pleading eyes. "Dad, Ramond can't leave me. He's always relied on me, and I know everything about him. Don't be fooled by outsiders."

Owen said, "They're my wife's parents, and they're family. Besides, I think they have a point. Ramond's been spoiled by you. He even got kicked out of kindergarten for fighting recently. If you had raised him right, that wouldn't have happened."

"That was because Susanna's son started it. The Jones Family bullied us. How is that my fault?"

Daphne snorted, "When something happens, you blame others instead of looking at yourself. How can someone like you raise a child properly?"

Owen now realized that Vivian really wasn't fit to stay around Ramond. She was like a ticking time bomb, ready to go off at any moment.

Owen turned to Eugene and Daphne and said, "Alright, I agree to your condition. Please take good care of Ramond."

Amelia got up from the ground and said, "Dad, don't worry. I'll take good care of Ramond and won't let you down."

Owen nodded, satisfied. "I believe you can do it."

Vivian chimed in, "Dad, how can you do this? Are you trying to get rid of me? Without me, Ramond wouldn't even be here with the Richardson Family!"

Vivian couldn't believe Owen had so easily agreed to Eugene and Daphne's condition, which meant sending her away to keep Ramond. Where would they send her? She had fought so hard to stay in the Richardson Family. How could she leave now?

Amelia jumped in, "Vivian, calm down. Sending you away doesn't mean kicking you out of the house. It's just that you're not the best influence on Ramond right now, so you need to be separated. Once Ramond grows up and fixes his bad habits, you can see him again. This is for his own good. As his mother, you should understand that, right?"

Amelia thought, 'Playing innocent? I can do that too.' She used to hate these tactics, but seeing Vivian so furious now, she felt pretty pleased. Ever since Vivian showed up, Amelia's family had been turned upside down. Now she wanted Vivian to feel the same pain.

"Amelia, shut up! I know what you're trying to do. You want to get rid of me so you can control Ramond, right? Dream on! I will never back down." Vivian felt completely betrayed.

She looked at Owen and said, "Dad, we agreed that Ramond would be your grandson, but the deal was that I stay in the Richardson Family. Now you want to kick me out, so the deal's off. If I leave, I'm taking Ramond with me."

Daphne cut in, "Taking the kid away? Do you think I care? To you, Ramond is just a tool for getting what you want, right? No wonder he's not doing great with you around. How can a kid learn properly with a mom like you?"

Owen frowned at Vivian and said, "The paperwork is already done. He's my grandson now. You can't take him away."

Vivian wasn't having it. "Impossible! I'm his mother. I can take him away whenever I want. If you force me, I'll go to the press and make this public. Let's see whose side people take when they find out a president is fighting me for custody."

"Vivian, how dare you threaten me?"

"Dad, this isn't a threat. You broke the agreement first. How can you blame me?" Vivian had already burned her bridges and made up her mind that if she couldn't have a good life, no one else would either.

Amelia stepped forward and held Owen's hand, saying, "Dad, maybe we should let Vivian stay." Owen hesitated but said nothing.

Daphne snorted, "No way. You all saw how she acted just now. How can someone like her stay in the Richardson Family? It would be bad for both the kid and our family's reputation. Vivian has to go!"

Owen nodded. He now felt Daphne was right. Vivian's staying would only cause more trouble.

Owen called his bodyguards over and looked at Vivian, saying, "I'll give you some money and send you abroad. If you behave, I'll make sure you get your living expenses regularly."

Seeing the bodyguards coming towards her, Vivian knew she had been outplayed. Vivian sneered, "Do you think I don't have a backup plan? Have you forgotten who Ramond's father is?"
