Chapter 346 The Confrontation Between Susanna and Vivian
Susanna didn't even bat an eye when she saw Vivian.
Vivian's face turned sour the moment she heard Aaron say yes to Susanna's date invite. Susanna knew Vivian too well; she wasn't the type to back off without a fight.
While casually washing her hands, Susanna glanced at Vivian in the mirror. "Got something to say? Spill it. Once I'm outta here, we won't be bumping into each other much. We're not exactly in the same league."
Vivian's sore spot got hit hard, and she snapped back, "You think you're all that? Acting like you're rolling in dough, but who knows if it's just sugar daddy money."
Susanna shot back, "Vivian, take a good look in the mirror. Jealousy ain't a good look on you. You act all high and mighty, but you're draped in designer brands. Can't even replace your worn-out clothes, huh?"
Susanna's eyes were sharp, cutting right through Vivian's facade.
She stepped up to Vivian, giving her the once-over. "You love your fancy brands too. Just 'cause you can't afford 'em, you act like you don't care about money. Who you fooling?"
Vivian's face twisted with discomfort, like Susanna had hit a nerve. Clutching her designer handbag, a spark of defiance lit up in her eyes. So what if she wanted wealth? She couldn't let it show!
Susanna sneered, "Move, you're blocking my way."
Vivian stumbled back a couple of steps, then shot back, "Don't think snagging Aaron makes you set for life or gets you into the Abbott family. You're just a stand-in."
"Funny, isn't it? All these years with Aaron, and you couldn't even make it as a stand-in?" Susanna wasn't fazed by the comment.
She'd come to terms with being Aaron's ex-wife, and those digs didn't bother her anymore. The "stand-in" label had lost its sting. She was always the one men chased after, never the other way around.
Seeing Vivian's embarrassed and angry face, unable to do anything, Susanna felt a rush of satisfaction. "Ms. Nguyen, here's a tip: get some plastic surgery. Maybe then you can be a stand-in."
"Enough! This is Lindwell, don't get too cocky, or you'll regret it," Vivian yelled.
Susanna's eyes turned icy. "Think about the consequences before you act. Next time, it won't be a game with sharks; I'll make you shark bait! I don't make empty threats!"
Vivian, remembering being tossed into the sea, felt a flicker of fear. "This is Lindwell, the Abbott family won't let you do that."
"But I'm Aaron's girlfriend now. Who do you think he'll side with?" Susanna's eyebrows arched with a wicked grin as she turned and left the restroom.
Vivian watched Susanna walk away, a strong urge to throw something rising within her. But thinking about her new handbag, she held back and calmed down. After all, it was a new bag she got from Radiant Valley.
Swallowing her rage, Vivian clenched her fists, a dark determination brewing. She vowed silently that once her son took over the Abbott Group, today's humiliation would be just a blip in her grand revenge plan.
Susanna went downstairs and left the hospital, spotting Elaine engrossed in taking selfies with a bag and a pair of shoes.
Susanna strolled up to Elaine with a grin. "Hey Elaine, you diggin' those? Tried the shoes on yet? They fit?"
Elaine quickly put her phone down and smiled back. "Yeah, tried 'em on, they fit just right."
Truth was, Elaine hadn't even bothered to try them on since they were freebies.
Susanna could see through her but decided to let it slide. With a knowing smirk, she said, "Elaine, I just bumped into Ms. Nguyen in the restroom. She was pretty ticked off about me being with Mr. Abbott, calling me a stand-in for his ex-wife."
"Nova, don't let Vivian get to you. You're not a stand-in. Aaron's always been loyal, and he has a type. You're way better than his ex. You two are a perfect match," Elaine reassured her.
Elaine was thrilled with the free designer bag and shoes. If Nova and Aaron ended up together, maybe the freebies would keep coming. Nova was way more generous than Vivian.
Seeing Elaine take the bait, Susanna frowned and asked, "Did Ms. Nguyen and Mr. Abbott ever date?"
Elaine quickly denied it, "No way! Vivian's always had a thing for Aaron, but he's ignored her all these years. If they wanted to be together, they would've by now."
Susanna wasn't buying it and pressed on, "I heard Vivian has a son and has been living with the Abbott family. Rumor has it he's Aaron's kid."
Elaine hesitated, her eyes darting around. "That's not true. Vivian stayed with the Abbott family as Aaron's sister. No one knows who the kid's dad is. Nova, don't sweat it. When you and Aaron are together, your kids will be the heirs to the Abbott Group."
Hearing this, a cold glint flashed in Susanna's eyes. She already had Charles and Lillian, and she didn't care about her son inheriting the Abbott Group.
Realizing Elaine wasn't gonna spill anything useful, she turned and left the hospital. But Elaine's explanation didn't sit right. Why would Aaron keep Vivian, who had no family ties, in the Abbott family and even take care of her son?
In rich families, this stuff was common. Usually, it meant an illegitimate kid, where the dad didn't wanna acknowledge the mom but didn't want the kid left out, so they made arrangements.
Getting in the car, Susanna glanced at the still-sleeping Lillian beside her. No way was she letting Lillian go back to the Abbott family to compete with an illegitimate kid for inheritance.
Upstairs, Aaron stood by the window, watching her get into the car and leave, his gaze deep and contemplative. He hadn't expected Susanna to personally deliver the special medicine.
Sam, standing next to him, said, "Aaron, so Ms. Ramirez's condition was for you to be her boyfriend? Such a win-win deal, why didn't you agree earlier?"
Aaron's cold eyes swept over. "She said the kid was yours. Could I agree just like that?"
"I told you she mistook me for someone else. That kid definitely isn't mine." Sam turned to look at him. "You said you wouldn't agree, but now you have, why?"
Aaron pondered for a moment. "Have you checked her personal info for the flight ticket?"
