Chapter 191 Leave Lindwell

Susanna held her breath as she heard footsteps getting closer. Aaron had just been on the phone with her.

'Did he figure out I'm hiding in this park?' she wondered, curling up tighter, her heart racing.

Her mind was a whirlwind. What if Aaron found her?

Maria was still in the ICU; she couldn't turn to her for help!

"Susanna?"

She froze, then her face lit up. "Austin!!"

Seeing Austin, she almost cried with relief. Thank God it wasn't Aaron!

"Susanna, what's going on? Why are you in a hospital gown?"

Austin saw her huddled behind a rock in a hospital gown, looking pitiful. His heart ached as he rushed to her side. "What happened? Who did this to you?"

Who would dare treat Susanna like this?

Susanna grabbed his hand. "Austin, just get me out of here. Now!"

She didn't want to explain; she just needed to leave.

Seeing her so anxious, Austin didn't press for details and helped her up.

In the car, Susanna kept checking the rearview mirror, looking around nervously, as if expecting to be followed.

After a while, it seemed no one was tailing them.

Only then did Susanna relax a bit, but she knew deep down this wasn't over. Aaron wouldn't give up that easily.

Austin couldn't hold back any longer. "Susanna, what's going on? Tell me."

Susanna leaned back in the passenger seat and took a deep breath. "Austin, Aaron found out I'm pregnant."

"What? How did he find out?" Austin was baffled.

Susanna explained how Harper had pushed her, almost causing an accident, while she was on the phone with Aaron. When Aaron rushed to the hospital, he found out she was pregnant.

Austin's face darkened. "Brian was right, that Dick is bad guys. He even dared to push you! Susanna, don't worry, I'll make sure he pays for this."

"Austin, the baby is the priority right now," Susanna said.

Austin looked surprised. "Even if Aaron knows about the baby, it's not a big deal. With Daniel around, custody won't be an issue."

Susanna laughed bitterly. This wasn't about custody.

Aaron didn't believe the baby was his and wanted her to terminate the pregnancy. But she couldn't tell Austin that.

If Austin clashed with Aaron, Austin would be the one to get hurt.

She quickly changed the subject. "Austin, I want out of here and back to Novaria ASAP.."

She couldn't stay here any longer.

Austin understood why she wanted to leave, probably fearing Aaron would take the baby. He also felt it was time for her to go back with them.

Erica was in Novaria with Charlotte refusing to sign the termination of the adoption agreement proposed by Edward, using her as leverage.

If Susanna returned, Charlotte wouldn't be under Erica's influence anymore, making Erica no longer a threat.

Austin thought for a moment and agreed. "Alright, I'll talk to Edward when we get back and arrange for you to return to Novaria immediately."

Austin looked at her and added, "Why are you wandering around alone? You're pregnant, you need to be more careful. Where's Brian? You should've asked him to go with you to meet Dick."

Susanna sighed. "I called Brian this morning, but a woman answered. Last time, my call caused him to break up, so I didn't want to bother him."

Austin's anger flared. He felt like dragging Brian out and giving him a piece of his mind. Brian had been unreliable since they were kids!

"Oh, Austin, there's one more thing. I don't want to use my current identity anymore," Susanna said firmly.

She looked resolute. "I want to start a new life in Novaria under a different name."

She was determined to stay hidden from Aaron. Protecting her baby was her top priority.

Austin nodded. "Alright, but it will take some time. You don't look well; you should rest first."

"No, I can't go home!"

Susanna quickly objected, her expression tense. "Austin, I'm really confused right now. I need a quiet place to rest. Just tell Madison I'm busy and staying in the school dorm to avoid her overthinking."

Going home was out of the question. Aaron would undoubtedly track her down. Going back would be like walking into a trap!

Austin sighed. "I have a single apartment near the hospital. I usually go there to rest when I'm too busy. You can stay there."

"Okay."

Only then did Susanna relax a bit, leaning back in the passenger seat and falling asleep.

Austin parked the car in the apartment garage. Seeing Susanna asleep, he didn't have the heart to wake her.

Noticing the bandages on her hands and feet, it was clear she must have been in considerable pain when she fell.

Austin got out of the car alone, took out his phone, and called Brian. The call connected. "Austin, what's up?" Brian inquiried.

Austin, with a cold face, started cursing. "Didn't you say you'd pick up and drop off Susanna every day? Where were you when she fell and got bullied?"

Brian sobered up instantly, scrambling out of bed. "Austin, what happened to Susanna? I drank too much last night and slept until now. What happened to her?"

"Brian, you've been unreliable since childhood, but leaving Susanna in your care, and this is how you treat her? She called you this morning, why didn't you answer? A woman answered instead? Do women matter more to you than Susanna?" Austin was almost losing his mind with anger.

He had finally found Susanna and was determined to keep her safe. However, Brian had overslept at the most critical moment! He was so frustrated with Brian that he felt like wringing his neck!

Brian felt guilty. "Where's Susanna? How is she? I'll come over right away."

"She's at my apartment. Get over here and apologize. If Edward finds out, you'll never get close to Susanna again," Austin said coldly.

"Austin, please, I know I was wrong. I'll come over right away," pleaded Brian.

After hanging up, Brian hurriedly changed his clothes. A woman behind him approached. "Honey, are you leaving already?"

Brian grabbed the woman's wrist, his tone cold. "Did you answer my phone?"

The woman looked guilty. "I don't remember, I was half-asleep."

Brian pushed the woman away, now filled with regret!

If Susanna could forgive him this time, he vowed to turn over a new leaf and put an end to his daily partying habits.

Meanwhile, after scolding Brian, Austin carried the sleeping Susanna upstairs.

Just as he carefully put her down, he saw Susanna's phone light up with an incoming call—"Terrible Man."
