Chapter 342 Finally Back to Lindwell Again

Aaron was kinda surprised Lillian hit him up; he could almost see her holding that phone watch.

Usually, she was all tough, but now there was this tiny hint of vulnerability. "Uncle Aaron, I'm heading out soon, and I got a gift for you," Lillian said.

Aaron's lips curled into a small smile. "Why'd you go and get me a gift?"

"Because I wanna thank you for taking me from the airport to the hotel so I could meet my mommy safely! My mommy says I gotta show gratitude." Lillian's voice was as sweet as honey.

Aaron replied softly, "Alright."

After they picked a spot to meet and hung up, Aaron couldn't help but smile a bit. He usually thought kids were a handful, but Lillian was different.

Sam asked cautiously, "Aaron, who was it?Got you a gift and wanted to meet at a restaurant?"

He thought, 'Is Nova planning another surprise? After that lingerie gift last time, who knows what's next.'

Aaron said casually, "It was Lillian. She said she has a gift for me."

"Lillian got you a gift, and I get nothing?" Sam felt a twinge of jealousy.

Aaron raised an eyebrow. "With your dad jokes, you expect a present? You should be the one getting a gift for Lillian with your track record."

"Why should I buy Lillian a gift? She's just like her mom, tough to handle, and not gentle at all. It's weird why Ms. Ramirez thinks I'm Lillian's dad, but she keeps inviting you instead of me. What's up with that?"

"Because you're too ugly!" Aaron shot back.

Sam felt totally unfair!

On the other end, after hanging up, Lillian tilted her little head. "Mommy, he agreed to meet at the restaurant."

"Sweetie, you did great. Just go and give the gift; I'll handle the rest."

Susanna and Lillian had a plan: when they exchanged gifts, Lillian would pretend to faint and use the moment to tell Aaron about her illness and the urgent need for a blood match. Then, she'd use the special medicine to strike a deal with Aaron.

Lillian and Susanna went to the restaurant and waited for half an hour, but Aaron didn't show up.

Finally, Sam came over, sweating and carrying several big gift boxes. "These are the gifts Aaron got for Lillian."

Surprised by Aaron's no-show, Susanna asked, "Where's Mr. Abbott?"

"He had an emergency at home and had to leave right away. He took a private helicopter," Sam explained.

Hearing this, a flicker of doubt crossed Susanna's eyes. Aaron's sudden departure from Radiant Valley seemed too convenient. Sam glanced at Lillian and saw the disappointment in her eyes. He couldn't help but explain, "Aaron had to rush back home because a family member is really sick. It's a tough situation; it might be the last chance he gets to see them. These are the gifts he had me buy for you."

As soon as Lillian heard "sick," she said, "I get it. Someone important in my family is also sick..."

"Lillian," Susanna cut in quickly. Normally, Lillian was pretty innocent and shared info easily.

She looked at Sam. "Is this why Mr. Abbott wants the special medicine? But as far as I know, this medicine can't cure terminal illnesses; it can only prevent muscle atrophy and stimulate neurons, usually needed for those who are completely paralyzed or in a vegetative state."

"Yeah, Aaron's grandma is in a vegetative state, so she needs that special medicine," Sam said.

'Aaron's grandma? Is that Maria?' Susanna thought, frowning.

From what she dug up, when she married into the Abbott family from a regular background, it was all set up by Maria. Marrying into a rich family seemed lucky, but being with Aaron came with a ton of unknowns.

Susanna saw Maria's need for the special medicine as a chance and looked at Sam, saying, "So Mr. Abbott is doing this for a sick family member. I thought he wanted to sell it for cash."

Sam replied sincerely, "Ms. Ramirez, Aaron's the heir to the Abbott Group in Lindwell. He doesn't need money. He's really doing this for his grandma, so could you please be kind and sell us the special medicine?"

Susanna squinted her eyes. "We can talk about it, but I need to see for myself to make sure you're not tricking me. By the way, I have a project to discuss in Lindwell, so I can go with you!"

Susanna's words left Lillian and Sam puzzled.

She looked at them, a bit awkward. "What's the matter, is there a problem?"

Sam quickly nodded. "Of course, as long as Ms. Ramirez is willing to sell us the special medicine, any condition is fine. I'll book the tickets right away. Any objections?"

Lillian quickly raised her hand. "Nope."

Susanna glanced at Lillian. When Sam went to book the tickets, she bent down and asked Lillian, "Do you want to go to Lindwell with me?"

"If I don't go, how will your plan work? I'm a pro at faking sick; he definitely won't find out it's for Charles," Lillian said.

Susanna patted Lillian's head and smiled. "Alright, then we'll go to the Abbott family in Lindwell."

She also wanted to see the place that brought her so much pain when she left.

An hour later, Susanna and Lillian quietly arrived at the airport. Not even Abel knew about their sudden trip.

If Abel knew, her brothers would soon find out, and they definitely wouldn't let her go to the Abbott family in Lindwell. But for Charles, she had to go.

After the plane took off, Susanna looked at the shrinking Radiant Valley. Thinking of the sick Charles, her eyes became more determined.

Seven hours later, the plane landed at Lindwell International Airport.

Susanna carried the sleeping Lillian off the plane. Lillian had been super excited the whole way, but she conked out just as they were about to get off.

As Susanna held her for a while, her arms started to feel a bit sore. After all, Lillian had grown quite a bit. Sam lowered his voice. "Let me."

Susanna glanced at him and then handed the sleeping Lillian over.

After leaving the airport, she looked at the place where she had once lived, but to her dismay, nothing seemed to trigger any memories.

"Sam, why is she here?" Vivian's voice suddenly cut in.

Having just gotten off a private plane, Vivian felt she had to come back and see it firsthand upon hearing about Maria's worsening health.

However, she was shocked to see Nova, who looked a lot like Susanna, also at the airport!
