Chapter 75 You've Been Lying All Along

Austin thought to himself, 'This isn't right. When did I agree to perform surgery on Aaron's grandmother? I never agreed!'

Austin rubbed his chin, a cold glint passing through his eyes. The only possibility was that Erica was lying! No wonder Erica had been looking for him all this time!

Suddenly, Austin's impression of Erica turned unfavorable. She actually lied in a situation like this!

He tapped the table and said. "Susanna, you used to work as a nurse for the Abbott family, but it seems like they didn't treat you well. Justin said that Elaine had always been bullying you. Why are you still helping them?"

Thinking of Susanna working as a nurse for the Abbott family annoyed Austin. If the Abbott family were still harassing her, it would be enough to make his brothers resent the Abbott family.

Susanna hesitated. "I've said it before. Maria has always been good to me. She helped me a lot when Uncle Brown had an accident. I remember this favor, and I want to repay her."

"So that's how it is." Austin pondered for a moment, realizing that not everyone from the Abbott family was bad.

In the end, Austin nodded. "Alright, I promise to help you with this favor."

Austin didn't like Aaron and anyone in the Abbott family. He had also said that he wouldn't perform the surgery for them, as he was a principled man. But Susanna pleaded with him.

Austin thought to himself, 'Screw the principles! Is it more important than Susanna? Obviously not!'

"Thank you, Austin." After hearing Austin's promise, Susanna finally breathed a sigh of relief. She really hoped Maria would be safe and live a long life.

Austin smiled. "Not a big deal. It's what I should do."

After all, Maria helped Susanna when she encountered problems she couldn't solve. Austin acknowledged this favor!

"Austin, you go ahead with your work," Susanna suggested.

"Okay, I'll look at Mrs. Abbott's medical records at the hospital where she's staying tomorrow," Austin replied.

"Okay," Susanna said and left the hospital. She took out her phone and wanted to send a message to Aaron, but she hesitated and put the phone down. She would wait until Austin went to the hospital tomorrow to check the situation.

After Susanna left, Austin took out his phone and sent a message in the WhatsApp group chat for Loving Family.
Austin: [I've decided to perform surgery on Mrs. Abbott.]

Suddenly, there was a lively discussion in the chat group for Loving Family.

Edward asked: [Why? That's not what you said yesterday.]

Justin replied: [I am against it! That divorced guy from the Abbott family has feelings for Susanna. You can't help them.]

Austin explained the process of Susanna begging him in the chat group. The chat group fell into silence.

Aviana replied: [Since it's Susanna's request, it's not impossible. We won't owe anything to the Abbott family in the future either.]

---

The next day, Susanna went to the private hospital with Austin. She took him to talk to the attending physician so that Austin could quickly understand the situation.

Susanna then went upstairs to visit Maria, but she didn't expect Aaron to be in the ward as well. She was startled when she saw him, then she smiled and greeted Maria.

"Susanna, you're here. Come and sit down, have some fruits." Maria said.

Susanna walked over and chatted with Maria for a while. She felt Aaron's gaze on her the whole time, which made her a little uncomfortable. Then She found an excuse to wash the fruits and went outside.

"Aaron, stop staring. Go out and help." Maria told Aaron to help as well.

Susanna sighed slightly in her heart. She had actually come out to avoid him. She hesitated for a moment. It was a good opportunity to mention finding a doctor for Maria with Aaron. Susanna turned to look at him.

They locked eyes. Susanna asked, "Have you found a suitable doctor yet?"

Aaron replied in a deep voice, "Not yet."

Susanna wondered, 'Has he really not found a doctor yet?'

Just as Susanna was about to speak, she saw Erica stepping out of the elevator. The atmosphere instantly changed.

When Erica stepped out of the elevator, she was in a very bad mood. She probably didn't expect Susanna to be here.

Erica took a deep breath and looked at Aaron. "Aaron, I need to talk to you about something."

Aaron frowned and remained silent.

Susanna lowered her eyelids. "Then I won't disturb you."

Susanna hurriedly took the fruit and went to the other side of the corridor. She didn't even know why she came here, as the fruit washing area was clearly not there. She couldn't say what she originally wanted to say when she saw Erica approaching.

If Erica could solve the doctor issue, she decided not to say anything to avoid being ridiculed for her choice of doctor compared to Erica's impressive brother.

On this side of the corridor, Aaron glanced in the direction Susanna had disappeared before turning his gaze away.

Erica looked at him. "What is Susanna doing here?"

Aaron pursed his lips and replied coldly, "What are you doing here?"

Faced with his cold questioning, Erica felt her eyes slightly reddened. "Aaron, I came to find you to talk about something."

Although Austin hasn't agreed to the surgery yet, Edward has already agreed to her marriage to Aaron. Erica planned to put pressure on Austin through Jane. As long as she convinces Jane to talk to Austin, Austin will definitely agree.

But now Aaron has started to doubt Erica. So, she decided to explain it to him in person and ask him to wait a little longer.

If Aaron ends up finding another doctor for the surgery, she will never have a chance to marry into the Abbott family.

Aaron furrowed his brows and turned to walk down the stairs. "I don't think there's anything else to say."

"Aaron, I know you're mad at me, but I'm doing all this for you," Erica said.

Aaron stopped walking. "Is lying also for my sake?"

Erica's expression became somewhat unnatural. "I admit I was wrong about that. But Edward has already agreed, and Austin will soon agree. Austin may have a strange temper, but his medical skills are globally recognized. I've been trying to persuade him to come and perform the surgery on Mrs. Abbott."

Aaron continued walking downstairs. He had no interest in listening to these worthless words.

Erica reluctantly followed and found Aaron heading to the office of the attending physician. A wave of immense panic surged within her.

Erica wondered to herself, 'Had Aaron already found the right doctor? No, I had to follow up and find out the exact situation. I absolutely would not allow any doctor to operate on Maria except for Austin.'

Aaron didn't even glance back at Erica and went straight to the attending physician's office. As he pushed open the door, he happened to see Austin getting ready to leave.

Austin heard someone pushing the door open. He thought it was Susanna, but when he turned around, he saw Aaron.
