Chapter 292 The Last Thing She Lacks Now Is Money
Susanna was kinda taken aback hearing the jewelry was reserved, but she shrugged it off. She'd dropped that hint on purpose for Elaine to pick up on.
But Aviana? She was way more hyped and shot a look at the store manager, "You just said it was available. How'd it get snatched up so fast?"
Brian's face went ice-cold, "Who reserved it?"
The store manager hesitated, then spilled, "It was Mr. Abbott. I'm really sorry."
Justin wasn't thrilled either. "Aaron?"
The store manager nodded, looking all kinds of stressed. "I'm really sorry."
This was Lindwell, and with the Abbott family calling dibs, the store manager wasn't about to say no.
When Susanna found out Aaron had reserved the jewelry, a smirk played on her lips. She had a pretty good idea who Aaron was saving it for. And yep, the woman in the computer file was someone special to Aaron.
Aviana was getting ticked off. "Is the Abbott family playing games? It's just a jewelry set. Do they really think the Joneses don't have better bling? Good thing I brought my stash. Susanna, you're gonna be decked out in it later!"
Brian couldn't help but look a bit jealous, "Aviana's collection is worth way more than any branded stuff."
Justin nodded, "Totally, but I'm gonna hold this against Aaron. If he thinks he can one-up the Jones family, he's dead wrong."
Susanna finally chimed in, "Forget it, I didn't care about it anyway. Since Aviana's collection is more valuable, it's a win for me."
"I brought this just for you to wear at the banquet, but you can also pick out some branded stuff. If you see anything you like, grab it for everyday wear. That's a whole different thing!" Aviana said. Brian whipped out his black card, "Aviana's right. Susanna, buy whatever catches your eye."
Susanna felt both amused and touched. As a former orphan, she often got lost in romantic TV plots, dreaming of moments like this.
She took the cards her brothers gave her, snapped a pic, and posted it on social media: "My brothers' advice: Take the card and spend freely as you please!"
Soon, Flandre liked and commented: [Jealous of those with brothers.]
Some old classmates chimed in: [Susanna, your family spoils you, so envious!]
Not long after Susanna's post, Aaron saw it. His eyes lingered on the photo, feeling a bit uneasy. He'd given her a supplementary card once, but it seemed she never used it!
Tyler walked over, "Mr. Abbott, the latest jewelry from DivineDynasty has been reserved. Where should it go?"
"Send it straight to the Abbott Mansion," Aaron said without missing a beat. Susanna was heading there tonight anyway.
If it weren't for Elaine's heads-up, he wouldn't have known Susanna was getting styled at DivineDynasty.
Tyler continued, "Mr. Abbott, Ms. Nguyen is here."
Aaron's gaze shifted from the computer, his lips pressed into a thin line. "Let her in."
Vivian, dressed to the nines and holding a branded handbag, walked into the office with a quiet elegance. She looked at Aaron in the executive chair, a hint of infatuation in her eyes. "Aaron."
Aaron looked up. "What are you doing here at the company?"
"Aaron, I picked out a scarf for Mrs. Maria Abbott. I wasn't sure about her taste, so I thought I'd run it by you. I don't want to give her something she won't like," Vivian said.
Seeing the scarf, Aaron's mind flashed back to when Susanna had brought a similar one to the Abbott Mansion, busting Lvy and Sienna for buying fakes right on the spot. The new Susanna was like a wildcat, with a temper hotter than a summer day in the desert.
Vivian noticed he was zoning out and called out, "Aaron?"
Aaron snapped back. "My grandma's got plenty of scarves. Pick something else."
"Aaron, why don't you come with me to buy one?" Vivian asked.
"I'm swamped, no time." Aaron said, diving back into his work on the computer.
Vivian didn't push it and left the office, hurrying to find a new gift that Maria would like.
When Susanna stepped out of the styling studio, she admired the new jewelry on her wrist. This set was way more luxurious and stunning than what the brand had offered.
"Susanna, let's take a selfie," Justin suggested.
After Susanna posed for the selfie, Justin pulled out his phone. "Gonna post this on Twitter and show off how gorgeous my sis is to the world!"
"No!" Susanna grabbed Justin's hand. "I don't want to be in the spotlight right now. I'll lose my freedom. I don't want that!"
Justin looked at her seriously, "Susanna, do you want to be a star? With my help, you could be super famous."
Brian jumped in, "Justin, back off. I already told Susanna to learn the piano. It's way easier than acting."
The two brothers started bickering about Susanna's future career, neither willing to back down.
Aviana whispered to her, "Susanna, don't mind them. You can do whatever you want. These careers are too exhausting; you don't have to work at all."
Susanna, both amused and exasperated, tried to calm Justin and Brian down, worried they might start a full-blown fight in the car.
The vehicle headed towards the Abbott Mansion, and the other brothers were also on their way, meeting up outside the mansion.
Susanna noticed a line of fancy cars parked outside the Abbott Mansion. The sight of these high-end rides hinted at the wealthy guests attending today's banquet.
"Susanna, those are Edward's cars."
Susanna glanced out the window and saw Edward and the others had arrived too, so their car slowly drove into the Abbott Mansion.
Seeing the familiar place, she suddenly felt a bit nervous. It looked the same as before, but it felt a bit different.
Several luxury cars drove into the Abbott Mansion, initially not drawing much attention because of the gathering of luxury cars today.
However, when Edward and his crew stepped out, their good looks instantly grabbed everyone's attention. In Lindwell's elite social circle, where everyone knew everyone, the arrival of the Jones brothers from Novaria was still a mystery to many.
Stepping out of the sleek Lincoln, Edward, looking sharp with his striking features, walked confidently to the front of the car, flanked by six equally handsome companions. All eyes in the vicinity turned towards them, curious to uncover the identities behind the luxurious vehicle.
