Chapter 425 She Has a Close Relationship with Her Private Bodyguard

Susanna's eyes narrowed with a hint of suspicion. Was Aaron onto something?

They locked eyes for a few seconds before Susanna couldn't hold it in. "What do you think I'm hiding?"

"About Lillian's illness. You're keeping something from me."

"You're overthinking it. I didn't want to tell you at first, but we needed your bone marrow, so I had to reach out."

Aaron's eyes narrowed. "That's it?"

"What else? If it weren't for Lillian's illness, you'd never know she existed."

Aaron grabbed her wrist, his gaze intense. "Susanna, I saved Lillian's life. I deserve visitation rights!"

"No, you don't!"

"Not letting me see Lillian just proves you're hiding something!"

Susanna's heart raced. She didn't expect Aaron to catch on. How was she going to bluff her way out of this?

Just as things were heating up, Marcus walked over. "Ms. Jones, you have a doctor's appointment. Time to go."

Susanna sighed in relief and turned to leave. Aaron followed. "Why are you seeing a doctor?"

"Why do you think? It's for medical reasons, duh."

Susanna stormed towards the car, muttering to Marcus, "I don't want to see him."

Aaron was stopped by the bodyguards, watching helplessly as Susanna drove off.

Sebastian patted Aaron's shoulder. "Aaron, what did you do to piss off Ms. Jones? Didn't you take care of her last night?"

Aaron's face darkened. "Get your filthy hand off me."

"Aaron, what's with the attitude? Just 'cause you're good-looking doesn't mean you can get close to Ms. Jones."

Aaron swung a punch at him, his face grim. "Shut up!"

Sebastian, hit by the punch, charged at him. "Don't think just 'cause you spent one night with Ms. Jones, you're hot stuff and can hit me!"

The two started brawling, leaving the servants and bodyguards around them stunned.

Meanwhile, in the car, Susanna calmed down and said to Marcus, "Thanks for the quick thinking earlier. I had no idea how to bluff Aaron."

She hadn't expected Aaron to catch on so fast.

Marcus got a message from the villa and looked conflicted. "Ms. Jones, Mr. Abbott and Sebastian just got into a fight."

"Really?"

Susanna was puzzled. Aaron fought with Sebastian? That didn't fit his cold, aloof CEO image!

She was instantly curious. "How did they end up fighting?"

"Not sure yet."

"Who won?"

"Mr. Abbott."

Susanna was surprised. "I thought Sebastian was pretty skilled and had won some competitions. He actually lost?"

Marcus found it strange too. Sebastian losing a fight? Aaron must be pretty tough.

Susanna thought of Aaron and started worrying about how to stop him from going to the hospital and finding out about Charles's treatment.

After all, the person getting treated at the hospital wasn't Lillian.

Susanna arrived at the hospital for her therapy session. She wanted to recover her lost memories to uncover the truth.

The doc looked at her and said, "Ms. Jones, you're starting to get better. At first, Mr. Edward Jones had me hypnotize you to forget the bad stuff. But now that you're stable, it should be fine if you remember."

"So, if you lift the hypnosis now, will I remember everything right away?"

The doc nodded. "Yep."

Susanna thought for a sec. "Alright, do it. Lift the hypnosis."

She decided she wanted her memories back.

But just as they were about to start, Marcus burst in. "Ms. Jones, the hospital just called. There's a problem with Charles's treatment. They need you there ASAP."

"Got it, I'm on my way."

Susanna's face changed, and she rushed to the hospital, forgetting all about the hypnosis.

Her hands were shaking the whole way.

When she got to the hospital, she found Michael. "What's wrong with Charles's treatment?"

Michael looked serious. "I'm sorry. I told you Charles would be fine after the bone marrow transplant, but now there's a small issue. He might need more treatment."

Susanna sighed in relief. "I thought it was something serious. No need to apologize. When Charles was born, the docs said he wouldn't live past a few months. Thanks to your team's work, he's made it to four years old. I'm just glad he's alive."

Michael looked guilty. "I wanted to cure Charles completely."

"Michael, you've done so much. Don't feel bad. Even if this treatment doesn't fix everything, Charles is way better off than before, and that's enough."

Susanna always hoped Charles could fully recover, but she knew reality wasn't that kind. As long as Charles was okay, that was enough.

Michael looked at her deeply. "We'll keep monitoring the treatment. We'll find a way to get Charles healthy."

"Thanks, Michael."

Susanna went to see Charles and chatted with him for a bit. Charles, looking serious, said, "Mommy, you don't seem very happy."

"No, I'm doing fine lately."

"Mommy, you're lying."

Looking at his features that resembled Aaron's, Susanna felt a mix of emotions.

After leaving the hospital, a bunch of reporters swarmed her. "Ms. Jones, is it true you're dating your private bodyguard?"

"Ms. Jones, we heard your bodyguard's family is poor. Will your family approve of the relationship?"

Susanna was caught off guard. Dating her bodyguard?

Marcus quickly had people block the reporters and got Susanna back to the car safely.

Susanna was confused. "What's going on?"

"Ms. Jones, at last night's party, you and Mr. Abbott were photographed by reporters. Someone spread rumors about you and him."

Susanna checked her phone and saw a pic of Aaron holding her. She had almost tripped, and if it weren't for Aaron, she would've fallen.

Luckily, Aaron was wearing big sunglasses, so people who didn't know him couldn't recognize him.

She immediately told Marcus, "Get the PR team to delete those photos ASAP. My brothers can't see them."

Just as she finished speaking, Justin called.

Of course, Justin was always the first to know about gossip.

Seeing Justin's name on the caller ID, Susanna felt a headache coming on. Speaking of the devil.
