Chapter 171 Edward, Send the Money!
Aaron was in a foul mood, his face dark and brooding.
Tyler took a deep breath and said, "The hotel manager said the guy's in the presidential suite because his girlfriend found out he was getting too close to another woman and called the cops."
Aaron's lips tightened into a thin line. "Who's the woman?"
Sweat started to form on Tyler's forehead. Why did the boss ask when he already knew? He braced himself and answered, "The woman is Mrs. Abbott."
The atmosphere in the car shifted dramatically.
After a moment, Aaron's lips pressed into a line again. "Let's go."
Tyler was a bit puzzled.
Meanwhile, Susanna was sitting in the car and suddenly glanced at the rearview mirror.
While driving, Brian asked, "Susanna, what's up?"
"Nothing."
Brian said, "It's getting late. Let's grab something to eat. I heard there's a great restaurant nearby."
Susanna was feeling a bit hungry too.
As she and Brian arrived at the restaurant, while moving from the first floor to the second, she suddenly spotted a familiar face in the lobby—wasn't that Dick?
Dick was sitting with Harper, and across from them was a beautiful woman.
Susanna saw Dick attentively serving drinking to the woman across from him. There was a bouquet of roses on the empty chair next to him. It looked more like a date than a regular meal.
Susanna quickly looked away and followed Brian to the upstairs private room for dinner.
During the afternoon, they explored a nearby tourist destination and lingered there throughout the day. Truth be told, it had been years since she indulged in such merriment and seized the opportunity to explore local allurements. Back then, she didn't have much money and had to juggle multiple jobs just to get by.
When they got home, Brian handed her a bank card, saying, "Take it. Buy whatever you want from now on. Don't worry about saving money for me!"
Susanna couldn't help but laugh. "Brian, it seems your business is doing well lately. I heard your training school is going public. Are there a lot of people learning piano?"
Brian looked at her and asked, "Do you want to learn piano?"
Susanna shook her head. "No, I was just curious. I'm too old to start learning piano now."
At that moment, Madison walked out of the room. "Actually, Susanna had a talent for playing the piano when she was little. The neighbors bought an electronic keyboard, and Susanna quickly learned to play just by looking at the sheet music. The neighbors even praised her as a natural talent. Unfortunately, we were too poor to buy her a piano or pay for lessons."
Madison's eyes reddened slightly. "If Susanna had grown up with you, she would have lived like a little princess and wouldn't have suffered so much."
Susanna explained, "Madison, I never felt it was hard living with you. If it weren't for you, I don't know how much worse it could have been."
Hearing this, Brian felt a pang of guilt. If Susanna hadn't been lost by the heartless nanny when she was little, she wouldn't have had to suffer so much alone.
He looked at Susanna seriously and said, "It's never too late to start learning the piano. I'm planning to open a training class here in Lindwell. You should come and learn."
"Can I really start learning piano now?" Susanna asked, a hint of excitement in her voice.
Brian nodded. "The best time to plant a tree was yesterday. The second best time is now."
Susanna smiled. "Alright, I'd like to give it a try."
With money no longer a concern, she wanted to make up for the regret of not learning piano as a child.
Madison chimed in happily, "Susanna, you should go for it. Brian is a piano teacher and can teach you a lot."
As a pianist, Brian was already planning to have his team set up a piano studio in Lindwell. He intended to follow through on his promise, with Susanna as his only student, and he would personally teach her.
Susanna and Brian chatted about piano for a while. After she went to the bathroom and came out, Brian was no longer in the living room.
She looked around and asked, "Where's Brian?"
"He said he had something to do and left. He asked me to give you this bank card," Madison replied.
Seeing the black card Brian left for her, Susanna felt a bit conflicted. Ever since her brothers' careers had taken off, they had been giving her money non-stop.
Holding the bank card, she asked, "Madison, should I accept these bank cards? You always taught me that even though we were poor, we should have dignity."
"Silly girl, this is money from your brothers. They are your family. Besides, I asked Brian, and he said this money is nothing to them. It's just pocket money for you. Take it. From now on, you are a family that relies on each other," Madison persuaded.
Susanna beamed a smile and said, "Madison, you are also my family."
"Susanna, Edward mentioned that your monthly mortgage payments aren't a long-term solution. They can pool some money to help you pay off the mortgage early. Aviana doesn't mind either, so I think you should consider it. You can always pay Edward back later. It's not a problem," Madison continued.
"I need to think about it."
"Susanna, your family treats you well, which puts my mind at ease. Family should help each other. The bank's interest rates are too high. If you have family to rely on, why not? Don't be so stubborn! With six brothers like yours, most people would envy you. Why are you still being so polite?"
Back in her bedroom, Susanna kept thinking about what Madison had said.
'Am I always being too polite with my brothers?'
Looking at the bank card and rubbing her belly, she gave Edward a call. He picked up right away, "Susanna, what's going on?"
"Edward, are you busy?"
"No, go ahead."
Edward put down his computer and walked to a quiet place to take the call.
Susanna repeated what Madison had said, "Edward, do you think I've always been too polite with you guys?"
Edward sighed slightly, "Susanna, I know we're late by many years. Sibling relationships take time to build, and we're willing to wait for you to accept us slowly."
After a moment of silence, Susanna said, "Well, I won't be polite anymore. Edward, send me the money! I want to pay off the mortgage early."
Edward's lips curved into a smile. "Alright."
The next day, Susanna went straight to the bank to make an appointment for early repayment.
Upon entering the bank and securing a queue number, she unexpectedly encountered Dick. Astonished, he inquired, "Susanna, what brings you to the bank at this early hour?"
