Chapter 518 Please Accept My Apology

Aaron stared at the little girl in front of him, his face getting all serious.

The little girl started to get a bit scared, and the old lady next to her chuckled, "Young man, you really don't know how to cheer up a girl, do you?"

Aaron, always the aloof type, had no clue how to make a girl smile.

Feeling a bit awkward, he admitted, "Yeah, not really."

The old lady asked, "Do you have a daughter, young man?"

Thinking of Lillian, Aaron's expression softened. "Yeah, she's really young but super cute."

He never liked kids much, but Lillian was different.

She was his little angel, the sunshine in his life.

The little girl with the balloon saw Aaron's gentle look and felt less scared.

She looked up at him and asked, "You're a grown-up, not a kid. Do you like playing with balloons too?"

Aaron smiled at her, "My daughter loves balloons just like you. But today, I got this one to make my wife happy. I messed up, and if I don't get this balloon, she won't forgive me."

He never thought he'd be negotiating with a little girl.

He always thought kids were the hardest to deal with.

"Is it that pretty lady over there?" The little girl pointed at Susanna standing nearby.

Susanna noticed the little girl looking at her and felt a bit uneasy.

She was curious about how Aaron was handling the situation.

After all, the way the girl clutched the balloon, it was clear she wouldn't give it up easily. Kids aren't swayed by money like adults.

Aaron turned to look at Susanna too.

He spoke softly, "Yeah, it's her. But I messed up and made her mad. Could you please let me buy this balloon?"

"Sure." the little girl nodded. "but I have one condition."

Hearing that, Aaron felt a bit hopeful. If there was room for negotiation, there was a chance.

Susanna was also curious about what the girl's condition would be.

She had to admit, she was partly watching for the fun of it. Aaron had never been good with kids.

Aaron looked at the little girl and said, "Whatever your condition is, just say it. If I can do it, I will."

"Then say, 'Please give me the balloon.'"

Aaron was stunned.

Susanna burst out laughing, never expecting anyone to make such a request of Aaron.

The little girl looked seriously at Aaron, clearly waiting for his response.

Aaron sighed, patted the little girl's head, and said, "Please give me the balloon, okay?"

Maybe he couldn't have said such words before, but now that he had a daughter, it felt different.

Even though Lillian was younger than this little girl, thinking of her made it easier to say those words.

The little girl smiled sweetly and handed over the balloon. "I'll give you this balloon. Just don't make her mad again."

Aaron took the balloon and pulled out the only cash he had. "Here, for your pocket money."

The little girl shook her head. "My mom says I shouldn't take money from strangers. I'll just get another balloon next time."

"Thank you." Aaron felt a wave of relief wash over him as he held the balloon.

The little girl added, "When you give her the balloon, you have to say, 'Please accept my apology.'"

Susanna's expression turned a bit awkward at that.

She tried to walk away, but Aaron quickly caught up and grabbed her hand. "I got the balloon. Can you accept my apology now?"

Susanna stopped and looked back at him.

Aaron seemed less cold and more like a helpless boy holding a cute balloon.

At that moment, Susanna felt like she was seeing a side of Aaron she never knew existed.

She couldn't imagine him being this innocent. If anyone saw this, they wouldn't believe it.

Susanna coughed and said, "Isn't there something you forgot to say?"

She glanced at the little girl and the old lady selling balloons, remembering the little girl's instructions.

Seeing the teasing look in Susanna's eyes, Aaron felt at a loss. Those words were suddenly hard to say.

The little girl shouted, "Say, 'Please accept my apology.'"

Her shout made Aaron's expression even more awkward.

Susanna looked at him with a half-smile, curious about what he'd do.

Aaron looked down at her and asked, "Do you really want to hear me say that?"

Sam was right; women, young or old, needed to be coaxed.

"That request wasn't from me. You don't have to say it. If there's nothing else, I'll be going." Susanna's face flushed, and she didn't want to stay there any longer.

Just as she tried to pull her hand away, Aaron pulled her into his arms, causing her forehead to bump into his chest.

Susanna looked up at him, "What are you doing?"
