Chapter 352 We Can't Just Sit and Wait for Death

Vivian saw Elaine looking all kinds of miserable and knew she had to step up; no way she was just gonna sit around and let things get worse.

She glanced at her kid and realized she couldn't let this mess go on. Even if she was hesitant for herself, she had to think about her son. Without wasting a second, Vivian grabbed her phone and dialed, her tone shifting, "Aunt Maud, I gotta talk to you about something. It's about Aaron. He brought some chick back from Radiant Valley."

On the other end, Maud was super chill, "Yeah, I heard. That girl’s supposed to be some heiress from a rich family in Novaria, right? Fits Aaron's background. You know I can't control who Aaron dates."

Hearing "fits Aaron's background," Vivian's eyes went icy. She shot back, "I know, but that girl looks a lot like Susanna."

"What?" Maud stopped whatever beauty routine she was doing and sat up straight, "Vivian, are you sure? This isn't something to mess around with."

"Aunt Maud, why would I joke about this? I was in Radiant Valley too and saw Aaron meet this girl myself. And she’s got a bad rep there. She’s not some rich girl from Novaria. Word is, she’s a gold digger who scams rich dudes. She got such a bad name in Novaria, she’s now targeting rich guys in Lindwell."

Maud snorted, "No gold digger can fool Aaron."

When it came to relationships, Maud trusted Aaron. If he was the type to be easily swayed, he would've remarried and had kids by now instead of staying single.

Vivian pressed on, "But Aunt Maud, this time is different. That girl looks like Susanna. Aaron even brought her back to Lindwell, treating her special. I'm worried she might trick him. That's why I had to tell you."

"This is unacceptable. We need to step in. Why does she have to look like Susanna of all people? What rotten luck!" Maud exclaimed.

Hearing Maud's reaction, a sly smile crept onto Vivian's face. She knew Maud would hate that resemblance.

Now that she had finally secured her spot in the Abbott family, she wasn't about to let Nova mess things up.

Vivian added, "Aunt Maud, check out Elaine's social media. That girl is already using little gifts to win people over."

Maud replied, "Alright, I got it. By the way, Vivian, Ramond hasn't been well lately. While you were in Radiant Valley, the nanny didn't take good care of him. I had to check on him myself. If I hadn't caught it in time, who knows what that nasty nanny would've done."

"Aunt Maud, that's on me. I didn't expect the nanny to be so bad. I'll find a better one."

"No need. I've already got a nanny from the Abbott family to take care of Ramond. Don't go out today. If work's too much, think about quitting and focusing on Ramond."

"Okay, I get it."

Vivian hung up and looked at the nanny sent by the Williams Family, feeling pretty pleased. She had picked an unreliable nanny on purpose and let her behavior get worse, all to push Maud into replacing her with an Abbott family nanny for Ramond. This sneaky move would bring Ramond even closer to the Abbott clan.

Her plan was cruising along just fine until she ran into that Susanna look-alike in Radiant Valley. Talk about a curveball. But Vivian wasn’t about to throw in the towel. Meanwhile, Maud hung up and jumped straight onto Elaine's social media. And there it was, a selfie with a caption that made her blood boil.

Maud snorted, "Future wife of Aaron? She’s clinging to him without even knowing her place?"

Ivy, who was nearby, asked cautiously, "Maud, what’s up?"

"Ivy, Vivian just called. Aaron brought some chick back from Radiant Valley. Not only is she a gold digger, but she also looks like Susanna. Why can’t I ever escape Susanna’s shadow?" Maud replied.

"Maud, I think Aaron’s smart enough not to get played by her."

Maud’s eyes showed a flicker of doubt. "You don’t get it. Aaron was so hung up on Susanna. If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t have accepted the kid Vivian had. Aaron refuses to marry and have kids. Does the Abbott family’s future have to go to some distant relatives?"

"Why not just let Aaron marry Vivian? They already have a kid. It’d save us from dealing with these outside women," Ivy suggested.

Maud frowned. "But Vivian’s background is too plain. She used to work in a bar, not even close to Susanna’s status."

"But if Susanna were alive, could you comfortably be Mrs. Maud Abbott? A rich and assertive Susanna would be a handful."

The memories of Susanna’s arrogant behavior, flaunting her status as the Jones family heiress, made Maud squirm. Thank goodness Susanna was gone; otherwise, she might’ve driven Maud insane.

With a touch of irritation, Maud declared, "I’m heading to the mall to find Elaine. I need to talk to that woman."

"Maud, I’ll go with you. I’m curious to see what she’s like."

Ivy and Maud left the beauty center and headed straight to the mall.

In the mall, Susanna looked at Elaine, who was lugging shopping bags, with a hint of mockery in her eyes but a smile on her face. "Elaine, anything else you want? I’m beat from all this shopping. Let’s grab a drink."

"Nova, I know a café here that has pretty good coffee. My treat, let’s go," said Elaine.

Elaine was a bit bummed to stop shopping, but she knew she shouldn’t push it and risk leaving a bad impression.

Susanna pulled out a black super VIP card and handed it to the store manager. "Check out, please."

Elaine’s eyes widened at the sight of the super VIP card. If only she could have that card.

After checking out, Susanna and Elaine headed to the café downstairs. The place was chill, with just a few customers, perfect for some peace and quiet.

As they sat down, Elaine sighed and rubbed her sore feet. "Oh, these shoes are killing me," she admitted. Susanna glanced at Elaine’s ill-fitting designer heels, noticing the blisters forming, but Elaine still refused to take them off, showing how vain she was.

After ordering drinks, Susanna finally spoke, "Elaine, what does Aaron’s mom usually like?"
