Chapter 303 The Untouchable Princess of the Jones Family

The second Susanna hit the ground, she wished it was all just a bad dream. When she came to, Maria was still okay.

Regret hit her hard as she remembered ignoring the elevator glitch earlier. What if she had been more careful? Maybe Maria would’ve been safe.

Everything after that was a blur; all she could hear were her brothers yelling her name. But she was so tired. They rushed Susanna to the hospital, and Austin was freaking out, almost crying.

Justin helped Brian, saying, "Thank God Daniel caught Susanna before she fell too far. But is your hand alright?"

Brian shook his head, holding his hurt arm. "I'm good. Austin, get Susanna checked out already. What are you waiting for?"

Austin said firmly, "We gotta wait for Michael to get here before we can start the surgery."

Edward frowned. "Why wait for Michael? Isn't he an obstetrician?"

Austin replied, "Susanna's pregnant!"

That bombshell caused an uproar.

Edward grabbed Austin by the collar, demanding, "What did you just say? Say it again!"

Austin hesitated before admitting, "Susanna's carrying Aaron's baby, she's five months along."

Just as Edward was about to lose it, Aviana stepped in, "Hold on, Edward. Austin still needs to check on Susanna. You can't hit him!"

Edward let go, almost shouting, "Why didn't you tell me this sooner?"

Brian and Justin were also shocked, staring at Austin. "Austin, how could you keep this from us?" None of them had a clue Susanna was pregnant!

Austin replied guiltily, "Susanna made me promise not to tell anyone. I couldn't say no to her."

Aviana asked, "Does Aaron know?"

"He's aware she's pregnant, but she assured him the baby isn't from the Abbotts. Aaron's suspicious, but he can't confirm if it's his," Austin explained.

Edward shouted, "That's not the main issue right now. Susanna's carrying an Abbott family baby. You shouldn't have kept this from me! Susanna's in critical condition, and we don't know if she'll make it. Are you happy now?"

"Edward, I'm sorry!" Austin muttered, wiping away tears, full of regret. He knew he shouldn't have let Susanna hide her pregnancy from the family.

Just then, Michael showed up in his scrubs, calm as ever. "Let's go."

Austin followed Michael into the operating room, leaving the other five brothers waiting anxiously outside.

Edward's hands were still covered in Susanna's blood, shaking. If anything happened to her, he'd be crushed. They had just reunited, and now this. It was almost too much to bear.

Aviana took out a wet wipe and quietly cleaned the blood off Edward's hands. "Honey, I have an idea: let's get Susanna out of Lindwell for good. Every time something happens to her, it's because of the Abbott family. There's not a single good person in that family."

Edward looked at Aviana and replied seriously, "You're right." He had always gone along with Susanna's wishes, not wanting to push her, but now it was time to make a decision.

At the Abbott family hospital, Maria was rushed into surgery, leaving Aaron standing outside the operating room, anxiously waiting. All he could do was wait.

The sky grew dark, and it started pouring.

After a long time, he turned to Sam. "Can you go check on Susanna's condition?"

Sam made a call, and his face went ghost-white, almost dropping the phone. He looked at Aaron, terrified, unable to get the words out.

Aaron stared at him, a bad feeling creeping in. "What happened?" he asked.

Sam, sweating bullets, replied, "The hospital said Susanna had a premature birth with severe bleeding and amniotic fluid embolism. They couldn't save her."

Aaron shot up, eyes wide with shock and disbelief. "Say that again?"

Sam was too scared to speak, never having seen Aaron like this.

Aaron bolted to Susanna's hospital, not even bothering with an umbrella, stumbling as he rushed in. By the time he got there, the Jones family had already left.

Sam quickly found a nurse nearby to ask about Susanna's condition.

The nurse replied, "The patient named Susanna unfortunately passed away. Her family has already taken her body."

Aaron's voice cracked as he shouted, "No way! She can't be gone!"

But the nurse handed him a death certificate with Susanna's name on it.

Aaron's heart sank as he held it. It felt like a dagger had pierced his soul, leaving a wound that would never heal.

Four years later at Radiant Valley Airport, Aaron walked out of the VIP section, looking more rugged and determined than ever.

Stepping out of the airport, Aaron was greeted by a dreary sight - the sky darkened by heavy rain. A frown creased his face, his mood dampened by the gloomy weather.

Tyler quickly pulled out a big umbrella. Since that incident four years ago, Aaron had developed a strong dislike for rainy days. No one dared to mention that incident, including Susanna's name.

Aaron got into the car with a stern face. Once the door closed, the sound of the rain was muffled, but the raindrops hitting the roof were still incessant. Leaning back in his seat, he closed his eyes slowly before asking, "Any updates on the auction details?"

"Mr. Abbott, there will indeed be a special drug for sale at this auction, but it's a special item not listed in the catalog. Not many people know about it," Tyler reported.

"And the funds?" asked Aaron.

"Everything is arranged, Mr. Abbott. The heavy rain is causing some traffic, so you can rest for a while."

Aaron tried to rest his eyes, but the rainy weather made him inexplicably irritable. He looked out the window and saw a red umbrella moving in the rain, with small feet happily splashing in the water.

As the car slowly passed by, he saw a little girl with pigtails under the umbrella, her round face striking a chord deep within him. She looked so much like Susanna.

"Stop the car!" Aaron suddenly spoke. He glanced back at the little girl moving slowly by the roadside. In such heavy rain, there were no pedestrians, and no parents were in sight.

Tyler turned back in surprise. "Mr. Abbott, is something wrong?"

Aaron frowned. "There's a little girl by the roadside."

Tyler glanced over and noticed a young girl with a red umbrella, strolling along at a leisurely pace. Concerned, he inquired, "Hey, are you by yourself?"

The girl, Lillian, turned her head at the sound, her height not even reaching the car door, looking up at them with wide eyes.

At the sight of the girl's striking resemblance to Susanna, Aaron's typically reserved demeanor softened. He gently asked, "Sweetheart, where are your parents?"
