Chapter 43 You're Unlucky to Meet Me

Susanna turned her head, "Then you let go first."

Aaron looked down and saw her ears turning red. A hint of amusement flashed in his eyes. Then he released her and retreated to sit on the sofa with his long legs blocking her way.

He handed her the property division agreement, "Sign the agreement."

Susanna glanced at it, "I said no."

"You can accept it."

"No!"

Aaron had never seen anyone who didn't want money in his life. He frowned, "If you think it's too little, I can add more."

At least he was much more generous than the man outside.

Hearing this, Susanna looked contemptuous, "Yes, I think it's too little. Unless you give me all your property, I will absolutely not sign."

"Susanna! Don't be so arrogant. Why should I give you all my property just because I owe you my life? When you married me, I woke up. Mr. Abbott, isn't your life worth all your property?"

Susanna finished speaking in one breath, but the man opened his mouth and said, "If getting married can save lives, then why do we still need hospitals?"

Susanna was just complaining casually. She got off the table, "Either give me all your property or don't give me a penny. Don't try to dismiss me with such small things."

Since he thought she loved money, she would fulfill it to the end.

Anyway, he would never give her all his property!

Aaron squinted his eyes, "Susanna, did you marry me for money?"

"Can you call this wanting money? It's called reasonable compensation."

Aaron stared at this arrogant woman in front of him, who actually made loving money sound so noble. He gritted his teeth and said, "So, I should be grateful to you?"

Susanna stepped forward and straightened his crooked tie, "After all, encountering me is your misfortune. Accept it, Mr. Abbott."

After rambling, she took the opportunity to lift her leg and tried to cross over him.

But the man's hand held her waist, and she ended up sitting in his arms, tightly against his chest.

Susanna could feel the heat radiating from his thigh, as well as the hardness of the muscles, which felt a bit uncomfortable.

The temperature on her face suddenly rose, and she abruptly thought of standing up.
But as she lifted her head with force, she directly hit his chin, and it instantly hurt so much that tears welled up in her eyes - it was so painful!

Aaron didn't fare well either; he covered his chin, and a taste of blood lingered in his mouth.
However, the woman in his arms kept moving, so he held onto her waist and pulled her towards him, saying, "Don't move!"

The man's eyes were sharp, and Susanna was frightened, so she obediently stayed in his arms.
She covered her head, and he covered his chin.
The two of them locked eyes - one with teary eyes, the other with a calm gaze.
After a while, Susanna finally recovered and rubbed her head, complaining, "Your chin is so hard."
Her head was almost dented by it.

Aaron leaned back a bit, his voice hoarse, "Shut up!"
Susanna felt that this position was a bit awkward, especially with his tight legs, which made sitting uncomfortable.
She looked up and asked, "Can I go now?"
Aaron put his hands down, and there was clearly a bruise on his chin. His gaze was heavy, "You caused trouble and now you want to run away?"
"If you hadn't stopped me, how could I have injured you? It's all your fault."
"Susanna, why didn't I notice before that you're so good at arguing?"
"Well, now you've noticed."

Susanna didn't want to stay in his arms. Speaking to him in this position felt like acting spoiled.
She turned to the side, wanting to run away, but the man pressed down on her leg. He squinted his eyes and said, "The conversation isn't over yet."
Just as Susanna was about to get angry, Assistant Lee nervously walked over, "Boss, there's a phone call. Miss Jones has called several times."

Aaron glanced over coldly. Couldn't he see that he was busy?
He finally spoke, "Whose call is it?"
"Miss Jones's."
Upon hearing Assistant Lee's words, Susanna immediately calmed down, feeling the hand on her leg loosen.
Taking the opportunity, she got out of his embrace and stood outside, straightening her dress. "Then I won't disturb your date."
Susanna stood tall, taking big strides as she left the cafe.
But once she stepped out, a self-mocking expression appeared on her face. She needed to be more clear-headed -Aaron is not someone from her world.
The property that easily slips through his fingers would be enough to cover an average person's expenses for a lifetime.
She didn't want a single cent of his wealth.
Susanna touched her lower abdomen, because she already had the most precious gift.
Inside the coffee shop.
Aaron's expression was not good, and he didn't answer the phone. He stared at Assistant Lee and asked, "Who told you to come here?"

"Boss, didn't you say there was something urgent that needed immediate notification?" Assistant Lee replied.

"Is this considered urgent?"

Aaron tugged at his tie. He noticed that he had been doing that a lot lately, but when he tried to move his hand, he realized that the tie was impossible to untie!

Lowering his head for a closer look, he discovered that Susanna had tied a knot on his tie earlier!

He struggled for a while but couldn't untie it. Finally, he angrily put his hand down and muttered to himself, "Susanna, don't let me catch you next time!"

Leaning against the bar, he glanced down and saw the documents for property division on the table.

He still felt the softness of her slender waist in the palm of his hand, and he couldn't get rid of that feeling.

Assistant Lee mustered up the courage to speak, "Boss, Miss Jones sent a message saying she wants to talk to you about Grandma Abbott's surgery."

Aaron finally came back to his senses and picked up his phone to make a call. It was quickly answered on the other end. "Aaron, hope I'm not interrupting your work?"

"No, did Austin agree to schedule our grandmother's surgery?"

Erica paused for a moment. Currently, Austin had not given a definite answer.

But she definitely wouldn't tell Aaron that, otherwise, what excuse would she have to stay by his side?

Erica calmly replied, "Austin's attitude is not as firm as before. Three years ago, when you were in a coma, I wanted to marry you, but my brothers locked me up at home. They have some opinions about you. But I will find time to persuade him again. Austin will definitely give me face, so we can plan to do a physical examination for grandma and prepare for the surgery."

Aaron's voice was calm as he said, "Okay, I'll listen to your arrangements."

Erica was somewhat happy and suggested, "Let's go out for dinner tonight and discuss it in detail."

He didn't refuse and replied, "Sure."

Currently, the top-level doctors in the world, only Austin could do the surgery.

He must ensure that his grandmother safely undergoes the surgery.

After returning home, Susanna thought about what happened at the cafe, and she couldn't calm down enough to draw.

She touched her face and felt strange.

It must be because of the hormonal changes after pregnancy.

That night, she had a dream. The man in the dream had the same figure as Aaron.

When Susanna woke up, she blushed and went to the bathroom to freshen up. Fortunately, it was just a dream.

When she arrived at the company for work, she took out her phone to check the news and saw the top entertainment search: [Socialite Erica's Sweet Dinner Date with Mysterious Boyfriend, Going Home Together].

She remembered Erica's call before she left yesterday and clicked on the search. As expected, she saw a photo.
