Chapter 70 Do I Look Like a Fool?
The whole scene was in an uproar!
Justin was furious. Aaron was truly insane.
Elaine laughed from behind and said, "Susanna, this is 20 million dollars. If you dare, you can continue bidding! If you can't afford it, both of you will be detained here!"
In the next second, Justin raised Susanna's hand. "Forty million dollars!"
Susanna was stunned.
Justin, however, remained calm because he could never run out of money. It was the necklace Susanna liked, and he would not allow anyone to snatch it away!
Although 40 million dollars was a bit expensive, he had five brothers to support him!
Aaron was also shocked. After all, 40 million dollars was not the same as four million dollars. But he didn't want to give up so easily!
At this moment, the host on stage hesitated. Shortly after, someone from the auction house came over to look at Justin. "Excuse me. Due to the large amount of funds involved and to ensure the fairness of the auction, we need to verify your funds."
Elaine proudly said, "I guessed right, didn't I?"
Justin stood up. "Let's go. Where do we go for verification?"
He had never been verified for funds in Novaria. Now it was Lindwell. These people didn't know who he was.
Susanna also stood up and followed along.
Aaron saw her figure, and his expression turned deep.
Erica was somewhat jealous because she knew Justin would never run out of money, thanks to the Jones family's backing. He couldn't possibly be short of cash.
But Erica was jealous of Susanna's luck. Susanna actually made Justin spend 40 million dollars on this necklace!
After suppressing her internal jealousy, she noticed that Aaron was also somewhat angry. She sneered and said, "Aaron, it seems that Miss Miller has found herself a generous man. But the Jones family in Novaria is extraordinary. If she wants to marry Justin, they probably won't agree."
Elaine continued, "You're right. Ordinary women like Susanna fantasize about marrying into wealth, but they don't consider their background."
"Enough!" Aaron interrupted Elaine and got up to leave.
Meanwhile, Susanna accompanied Justin to the VIP room, but he looked at her. "Susanna, you can wait for me outside. It's not a big deal."
"Alright, I'll wait for you outside," Susanna said.
Susanna did not follow him in, but she was still a little worried. After all, 40 million dollars is not the same as 400 thousand dollars or four million dollars.
She thought, 'What if Justin doesn't have the money? Will he be detained here?' Susanna waited by the corridor, feeling a bit restless.
"What? Are you out of money?" Aaron's low voice came.
When Susanna looked up and saw him, she thought for a moment before saying, "Mr. Abbott, if I don't have enough money, would you lend me some?"
Seeing her stubbornness, he sneered, "Do I look like a fool to you?"
When Susanna heard the word "fool," she chuckled lightly and stepped forward to adjust his tie.
Aaron froze in place. He looked down at the top of her head and swallowed. He seemed somewhat uneasy, but his tone remained sharp. "So, when you see that this man has no money, you immediately want to give up on him?"
In the next second, Susanna forcefully tightened his tie and looked up with clear eyes. "Mr. Abbott, then why did you come over? If you care about me so much, you might give me the wrong impression that you still like me."
Aaron coughed and then said, "Susanna, let go!"
Aaron looked at her in astonishment. She had dared to attack him like this.
Only then did Susanna release the tie and gently readjust it.
Aaron watched this scene and felt as if they were back in the past. Back then, she would also tie his tie and take care of his life in the same way. He squinted his eyes, seemingly forgetting the recent incident where his neck was choked.
At this moment, the room door opened. Justin walked out from inside. "Susanna!"
Justin saw Susanna standing with Aaron and instantly became alert. He walked over quickly, separating Susanna and Aaron, and stood directly between them.
Aaron was somewhat displeased, but Susanna looked at Justin with some nervousness. "What's the situation?"
"I've already paid. The staff will bring the necklace over shortly. Susanna, let's go." Justin said,
"Alright." Susanna nodded and didn't glance at Aaron beside her, even though she could feel his sharp gaze.
Justin glanced at Aaron. "Could you please move aside? Don't you think you're blocking the way?"
Aaron pressed his lips together and didn't move.
Susanna stepped forward, linking her arm with Justin's, and said, "Let's go this way."
"Alright. Susanna, wherever you lead, I'll follow."
When Justin turned to look at Susanna, he once again revealed a gentle and handsome smile. "Susanna, let's buy a bracelet to match the necklace later."
"Susanna, how about we go shopping at the mall later and buy some new clothes and bags to match this necklace?" Justin added.
Aaron watched Justin and Susanna walk away, his eyebrows tightly furrowed. He finally tugged at his tie and looked at Jimmy beside him. "Do all women like men who say sweet words?"
Jimmy remained silent for a moment. "Generally speaking, men who can please girls are indeed more popular. After all, girls like being coaxed."
Aaron let out a disdainful sneer!
He walked towards the auction hall with a cold face. Erica walked over beside him. "Aaron, where were you? Miss Miller's boyfriend has already bought the necklace."
Aaron looked up and saw Justin standing behind Susanna, helping her put on the necklace. He found her smile quite annoying.
Erica smiled and said, "It seems like Justin is serious about Miss Miller."
Elaine snorted. "With Susanna's background and status, her dream of marrying into the Jones family is simply wishful thinking. Erica, when you get engaged to Aaron, are you going to invite the Jones family to attend? Will Justin bring Susanna then?"
Erica's expression stiffened. "I... I'm not quite sure about that."
Erica couldn't invite her three cousins to her engagement party because they had never acknowledged her as a member of the Jones family over the years. But Erica definitely wouldn't say these things out loud.
Elaine looked at Aaron and said, "Aaron, for this weekend's engagement party, let's not invite too many people to avoid trouble caused by shameless Susanna."
Erica let out a sigh of relief. Although Elaine was a bit silly, she could sometimes be useful.
Erica looked at Aaron expectantly. Aaron's gaze turned cold as he looked at Erica. "When is your brother available?"
Erica's expression stiffened as she reluctantly explained, "I have already made plans with him. He has been busy lately."
"I don't think it's necessary. The engagement is canceled!" Aaron said coldly.
