Chapter 47 Can't Change Breath in a Kiss?
Susanna looked at the handsome features in front of her, and the man's gaze was calm and deep.
Her eyes fell on his tightly pursed lips.
The two were very close, their noses almost touching.
In the next second, Susanna panicked and tried to push him away, but instead, she slapped him across the face, the sound crisp and clear.
The air in the car instantly froze.
Susanna stared at her own hand in astonishment and explained, "I really didn't expect it to escalate like this. It was just an accident... um, um."
She couldn't say the rest of her words, as they were all sealed by their lips.
She stiffened, shocked, as she stared at Aaron. He actually kissed her?
The man's lips were slightly cool, soft like jelly.
Susanna couldn't even breathe properly, considering their last intimate encounter was quite chaotic. She couldn't even remember what happened that night herself.
After a while, Aaron stopped and hoarsely said, "Doesn't kissing require exchanging breath?"
Susanna gasped for air, almost suffocated just now, feeling like a fish almost drowned.
She blushed and said, "I don't have as much experience as you do."
She thought about what he had just said and the thought of him practicing kissing with someone else, so she raised her hand in disgust and wiped her mouth. He kissed Erica and then kissed her, how disgusting!
Aaron pinched her chin. "Dare to despise me? I haven't despised you."
"Let's be fair, it's not like I kissed you first."
"You're a woman who dares to slap me, so a kiss is cheap for you."
"So should I say thank you then?"
Susanna tried to break free from his grip, but she caught a glimpse of a familiar figure standing at the entrance, looking at her.
She pointed outside and said, "Someone is waiting for you."
Aaron looked up and saw Erica standing at the door. His expression darkened and he slowly let go of Susanna's hand and sat back down.
Susanna blushed and straightened her clothes. She saw the wedding villa and suddenly remembered to ask, "Why did you bring me here?"
"To remind you that this is your home now. Don't forget your own identity!" Aaron replied.
Susanna said indifferently, "Mr. Abbott, is this really necessary? Aren't you afraid that I'll be a third wheel and disturb your date with your first love?"
Aaron furrowed his brow and got out of the car. He hadn't expected Erica to come.
Erica stood at the entrance with a very unpleasant expression. She hadn't expected to see Aaron and Susanna kissing.
Susanna decisively got out of the car and walked quickly towards the entrance.
As she passed by Erica, she paused her footsteps and said, "It's getting late, Miss Jones. It's best for you to go back early."
Erica was extremely angry. How dare Susanna, this bitch, mock her?
Susanna threw these words and walked into the hall without turning back. She didn't want to see Aaron and Erica standing together.
She returned to the bedroom upstairs alone and saw that the decorations inside were almost the same as when she left, with hardly any changes.
She glanced at the bedroom and couldn't help but go to the window, where she saw the man and woman leaving together at the entrance.
She laughed mockingly, raised her hand, and closed the curtains.
Susanna's fingers touched her lips, as if the warmth from his touch was still there, as well as the chaotic breath of the two.
She covered her face with her hand and had to admit that her heart had once again lost its rhythm because of his actions just now.
Although she was prepared to forget Aaron a long time ago, just because of his recent behavior, the wall she had finally built had been instantly destroyed.
But fortunately, Aaron left with Erica at night. It's better this way.
Susanna turned around and went to the adjacent guest room, asking Brenda to tidy it up for her. Sleeping there for one night would be fine.
She didn't want to sleep in the master bedroom. Who knows which woman had slept on that bed.
The next day, Susanna woke up on time, went downstairs for breakfast, and Brenda had prepared her favorite food.
When she arrived in the hall, she noticed that the wedding photo on the wall was missing.
Her gaze darkened, feeling that it was better to take it down. It didn't hold any meaning hanging there anyway.
Just as Susanna sat down in the dining room, a tall figure walked in wearing a tailored suit, sitting opposite her with an elegant and imposing manner.
Susanna's hand trembled. She hadn't expected him to be here too.
Didn't he stay out with Erica last night? Why is he back so early?
She glanced at his lips, thinking of the kiss from last night, and quickly looked away.
The restaurant was quiet until Susanna had eaten two bowls of fish soup, a pancake, and two fish rolls.
The man across from her couldn't help but ask, "Are you really that hungry?"
Susanna wiped her mouth and replied, "Mind your own business."
Under her influence, Aaron also ate a little more breakfast, his gaze fixed on her face. "Your face has gotten rounder," he remarked.
Susanna's expression was somewhat unnatural. "Really? I didn't notice."
Recently, she had been eating more than before.
The man spoke calmly, "Be careful not to gain weight and not be able to find a lover afterwards."
She wiped her mouth and said, "Maybe there are men with bad eyesight who like my type."
"It's hard to find men with bad eyesight."
"A person should always have dreams."
Susanna didn't want to waste time talking to him anymore. She took out her phone and replied to Grandma Abbott's message: [Grandma, did you see breakfast just now? I ate everything. You should eat more too.]
After sending the voice message, she saw the man staring at her all the time. She spoke slowly, "What are you looking at?"
"You're good at making the elderly happy."
"I'm just being kind. I took a picture of breakfast here to make Grandma believe that I ate here, so she won't be suspicious."
Aaron's gaze deepened. "Grandma's health is deteriorating day by day."
"I know, that's why you need to arrange Grandma Abbott's surgery as soon as possible."
She turned to leave, but heard the man's voice behind her, "Are you willing to do anything for Grandma's surgery?"
She stopped in her tracks and turned around. "Yes, what do you need me to do?"
He should have discussed it with Erica last night.
Last time Erica said that as long as she and Aaron got the divorce decree, Erica’s brother would come and perform surgery on Grandma Abbott.
The man sat in a chair, his eyes pitch black. "I will let you know."
"Okay."
Susanna didn't ask any more questions and left the villa.
Her mood was somewhat complicated, so she took a half day off and went home to rest.
Upon returning home, she saw Austin lying on the sofa, still in his work clothes, as if he had just come back.
Susanna gently closed the door and placed a blanket over Austin.
But Austin quickly woke up, "Susanna, you're back. You don't have to work so hard normally. Working overnight is not good for your health."
Susanna knew that Madison must have told Austin that she was working overtime at the company.
She didn't explain, "Okay, I know."
Austin yawned. "You go back and rest, have something delicious for lunch."
Susanna nodded and glanced at the phone on the couch, "You have a call."
"I know, you go rest first."
Austin glanced at his phone and waited until Susanna walked into the bedroom before answering Erica's call, "Hello, what's up?"
"Austin, I have something urgent to talk to you about."
