Chapter 560 Finally Got Rid of the Annoying Person

When Susanna saw the message, she was floored. Divorce? Seriously? Everything seemed fine before, right? Susanna quickly dialed Amelia's number. "What's going on?"

"A few days ago, someone leaked that my dad has an illegitimate daughter. He found out and blamed me for it. No matter how much I tried to explain, he didn't believe me and even slapped me. My mom saw the whole thing." Amelia's voice was raspy like she was really down in the dumps.

She went on, "After my mom saw that, she had a huge fight with my dad and then filed for divorce. I went back to my grandparents' place with her. Now my dad's openly brought Vivian and Ramond home."

Amelia's eyes were filled with sadness. She never thought Owen would change so much. As she expected, only daughters could empathize with their mothers; men could only empathize with other men.

Susanna was just as shocked. She asked, "So, what are you gonna do?"

"My dad's probably gonna throw a welcome party for Ramond at the Velvet Sky Ballroom soon. I've got a big surprise planned for them that day."

"What are you planning?"

"Don't worry, I'm not going down with them. I haven't taken over the company yet, so I still need my dad in his position. I've already convinced my grandparents, so Vivian won't be of any use then."

Susanna got what Amelia was aiming for. "But will your mom be okay with this?"

"My mom actually wants to get the divorce and split the assets early so I won't suffer. But I don't want to leave all this to Vivian and Ramond. My mom worked hard for this wealth, why should they get it? No way I'm letting that happen."

"I get it. I'll have someone keep you posted about the party details. But there are some things I can't help you with."

"I know, I won't ask you to do anything crazy. But I do need your help with designing a theme, can you do that?"

"Sure thing." After hearing Amelia's theme, Susanna sighed to herself.

After hanging up, Susanna turned to Quinn. "Look into what's been happening on Emerald Island lately. I heard the Prime Minister's daughter is in Novaria too. Find out what's up."She had a feeling the folks from Emerald Island were up to something. Previously, they helped Maud get Calum out for no clear reason; they must want something in return.

Thinking about Maud's cocky behavior at the party, Susanna's eyes turned icy. "Have the lawyer notify Lindwell that Maud left without permission and let them handle it."

Maud had been in Novaria way too long. Did she forget Susanna only gave her a short time? Did she really think she could do whatever she wanted? Sure enough, it wasn't long before Susanna got a call from a furious Maud. "Susanna, did you rat me out?"

Susanna replied, "Don't forget, I only gave you a week. It's been over half a month and you're still here. You even tried to show me up at the party. Did you really think I was that easygoing?"

"Don't think you can act all high and mighty just because Aaron's got your back!"

Susanna's eyes turned icy. "I think you got it twisted. I've never needed Aaron to back me up; I've always been this confident. You like throwing your weight around, huh? Well, in Novaria, the Jones Family runs the show. Even Aaron has to play it cool."

Maud was so mad she could barely talk. "With that attitude, you still think you can marry Aaron?"

"Wrong again. I never planned on marrying Aaron. He's the one chasing after me. But you did give me an idea—if he really wants to remarry and is willing to join my family, I might think about it."

Maud screamed, "Susanna, you're delusional."

"Let's see." Susanna hung up, picturing Maud's face at that moment. Her mood instantly lifted. There was nothing like finding joy in someone else's misery. After getting rid of that nuisance, the air felt so much fresher. Emerald Island wanted to use Maud, so she'd send Maud back to Lindwell.

At lunch, Susanna suddenly thought of Charles, who was starting school today. She wondered if he was getting used to the school food.

Just as she was thinking, she got a call from the kindergarten. Susanna answered right away. "What's wrong?" Did something happen to Charles at school?

The teacher said, "Ms. Jones, Charles got into a fight with another kid during lunch. We need you to come over."

"Okay, I'll be right there. Is Charles hurt?"

"Both kids have minor injuries. Don't worry, the school nurse has already checked them out."

Susanna felt relieved as long as Charles was physically okay. Her biggest hope for Charles was that he would be healthy. But she didn't expect Charles to get into a fight on his first day!

Susanna rushed to the school and met the teacher. "Why did Charles get into a fight?"

The teacher replied, "I'm not sure. Both Charles and the other kid are new transfers, with the other kid arriving a few days earlier. Logically, they shouldn't have any conflicts on their first day, but they won't say anything."

Susanna knew Charles wouldn't fight without a reason. She asked, "Has the other kid's family arrived?"

"They're in the office."

Susanna walked in and saw a middle-aged woman. She stepped forward and said, "I'm Charles's mom, and..."

The middle-aged woman said, "Are you the mother who didn't raise her kid properly? You look decent, but as a single mom with a fatherless child, you should take responsibility."

Susanna's eyes turned cold. "With the way you talk, did you forget your manners? I'm curious what kind of kid someone like you can raise."

"What do you mean by that? Do you know who we are? If you don't apologize properly, you'll regret it!"

Susanna sneered, "Perfect, Charles got hurt on his first day. I won't let this slide either."

"You think you're up for this? Just mentioning our status would scare you."

Susanna didn't expect someone to flaunt their status in front of her. She raised an eyebrow. "I'm really curious about who he is. Go on, tell me, and see if you can scare me."

The middle-aged woman replied, "He's the President's grandson." Susanna was puzzled.
