Chapter 52 This Is the Bottom Line for a Pregnant Woman
Aaron asked himself how to play the role of a pregnant woman?
Susanna's expression changed. Does this need acting?
She already was one.
Susanna answered: "Does this require acting skills?"
"Well, your acting skills have always been good. Don't overthink, because Taylor will come to take care of you as a pregnant woman, so you won't get caught by Erica."
"Mr. Abbott, don't worry, I will definitely play my own role well. What you need to do is to arrange the surgery quickly."
She didn't want to deal with Erica, just let Aaron confront Erica directly.
Erica always knows how to act, she would definitely continue to act in front of Aaron, so Erica would never postpone this surgery.
Susanna got off the car and walked into the lobby. The man behind her followed, his gaze somewhat complicated.
Taylor had been waiting in the lobby for a long time. She smiled and said, "Madam, I have prepared some food for pregnant women in the kitchen. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me."
"Good, I have some doubts."
Susanna naturally touched her belly. "Do I need to buy a fetal heart monitor and occasionally check the baby's heartbeat?"
Actually, she had no experience and didn't know what to do.
She saw a lot of information on a pregnant mom's website, saying that it is necessary to check the fetal heart from time to time, otherwise if there is any problem with the child, it won't be discovered in time.
She hadn't told Madison about her pregnancy, so she was lacking in experience.
Now that she needs to play the role of a pregnant woman, she can take this opportunity to learn.
Taylor spoke up: "Madam, don't worry, I have prepared a fetal heart monitoring device. You can try it now. However, if the months are too short, you may not be able to hear anything. But don't worry, I also brought a family doctor who can examine you anytime."
"No need."
Aaron directly refused, leaving Taylor puzzled.
Susanna saw that something was not right, "Taylor, what he means is to only check if there is a problem. I don't think there is any problem now."
Only then did Taylor nod, "That's good, I'll go to the kitchen. Madam, please take good care of yourself."
After Taylor left, Susanna sat on the sofa and saw the fetal heart monitoring device next to her. She really wanted to secretly give it a try.
Aaron squinted his eyes, "You almost let slip just now. What if they don't detect the fetal heartbeat and the family doctor notices something wrong? How do you explain it?"
"Don't worry, I have a plan. No one will be able to tell. Besides, we only have a week left. After the procedure, we won't need to keep pretending, right?"
Susanna looked up at him with her dark, quiet eyes.
As Aaron looked into her eyes, a slight annoyance rose in his heart for some reason. He tugged at his tie and said, "You're right, it's best if we don't give ourselves away like you said."
Susanna watched the man go upstairs, feeling a bit disappointed.
She gently touched her belly, murmuring, "Baby, don't take your father's words to heart. I will love you."
During dinner, Susanna saw a table full of dishes, almost all of them light and nutritious. It seemed like they were made according to her usual preferences.
Taylor stood by her side and said, "Madam, pregnant women's taste buds change after pregnancy. These dishes are made based on your favorite foods. Take a look and see which ones you like, and we'll continue making those dishes for you."
Seeing so many dishes again, Susanna couldn't help but marvel at how different wealthy people were.
She picked up her utensils and started tasting the dishes. Yes, she felt like a queen now. Being pregnant meant she could enjoy so many delicious foods.
However, some dishes were too far away for her to reach, so after glancing at them a few times, she gave up.
The next second, Aaron's utensils landed in front of her. She paused for a moment, then calmly said, "Thank you, honey. You should eat too."
Susanna smiled and picked up a piece of food that he didn't like and put it onto his plate.
Aaron glanced down at it, but his expression remained unchanged as he withdrew his utensils.
Taylor nodded satisfactorily while watching nearby, then went to report the situation to the old lady.
After finishing the meal, Susanna rubbed her belly and said, "I'm a little full."
"Sir, why don't you accompany Madam for a walk outside? It's good for both the pregnant woman and the baby."
Susanna hesitated for a moment, then said, "That's not necessary."
She felt that she could just go for a walk on her own, rather than having Aaron accompany her.
But then she heard the calm voice of the man beside her, "Alright."
Susanna forced a reluctant expression and said, "Actually, I can go by myself."
The man wrapped his arm around her shoulder, his tone carrying the meaning that couldn't be refused, "Going for a walk is good for pregnant women. Let's go."
Reluctantly, Susanna followed him to the walking path in the residential area. The summer night was cool, and there were many stars in the sky. Actually, the scenery during the walk was quite nice.
Their shadows lengthened and overlapped on the road.
Susanna couldn't help but feel a bit awkward. It was like asking a workaholic like Aaron to take time to accompany her for a walk, it felt a bit regretful, as if Cupid had given up his bow and arrow.
She randomly found a topic: "Actually, you don't need to accompany me specifically in the future. It will seem very fake."
"Grandma specifically asked Taylor to watch over me, even if it's fake, we have to keep acting."
How come she didn't realize that Aaron liked acting before?
At this moment, a large dog rushed out from the nearby bushes, and Susanna was startled.
The next second, the man held her in his arms.
Susanna tightly held onto his clothes, hiding behind him. "Oh my god, there's a dog!"
Aaron saw her curling up, his lips curved. He didn't expect her to be afraid of animals too.
Susanna cautiously looked up. "Is the dog gone?"
The man turned to look. "Not yet."
The big dog was standing next to them, wagging its tail. Judging from its enthusiastic attitude, it seemed to quite like her performance.
Susanna still curled up in his arms, wishing to be completely invisible. Her voice trembling, she asked, "Then what should we do?"
Aaron turned to look at the enthusiastic big dog. "Sit down."
That dog really obediently sat down on the ground, behaving well.
Susanna saw this scene and was instantly shocked. She admired Aaron greatly and looked at him with admiration. "It listens to you so well."
The man chuckled softly. "Are you really afraid of dogs?"
"Yes, when I was a child, I stayed in an orphanage for a while. The director kept a dog that bit me once, and it always chased and bit me afterwards. I was scared, but I didn't dare to say anything."
When mentioning her time in the orphanage, Susanna suddenly stopped this topic. After all, he was an heir to a wealthy family and probably couldn't imagine the life of a poor child.
"Have you received vaccinations?"
Susanna shook her head. "Just surviving in those days was already good enough. Getting vaccinations was a luxury that I couldn't afford. But I'm lucky. I've been fine all these years."
Aaron paused after hearing her words. "If you don't get sick, then you'll be fine."
"I know. I didn't expect you to comfort people as well."
The man turned to the side, his gaze deep. "In your eyes, what kind of person am I then?"
