Chapter 315 They Look Exactly the Same
Susanna strutted over like she owned the place, turning heads left and right.
Aaron glanced up and saw Susanna making her way toward him. His eyes widened a bit—her tiny waist, those long legs, the way her robe flowed, and that camisole showing off her perfect collarbone.
Even with her daring outfit, she pulled off classy instead of trashy, oozing charm and elegance that was hard to ignore.
He locked eyes on Susanna as she got closer. He'd had someone dig into her past before but came up empty.
Sam, hanging out nearby, also spotted the woman who looked just like Susanna, though her vibe was totally different.
The old Susanna was a conservative type. But this chick had long, wavy hair and rocked a bold camisole nightgown, giving off a wild and daring aura.
Sam whispered, "Aaron, she's definitely here for you."
Aaron watched Susanna approach, downing his whiskey in one go. His gaze was dark and intense as he looked at her.
He wasn't thrilled with her outfit or the way other guys were eyeing her.
Susanna stopped, giving Aaron a sly look before teasing, "Did you call me last night?"
Seeing her smug grin, Aaron's throat tightened a bit, and he replied, "Take a wild guess."
Susanna didn't back down. Her hand landed on Aaron's face, then slid down his chin.
Aaron leaned back in his chair, letting her do her thing without a fuss. Gasps rippled through the crowd, with Sam's being the loudest!
Sam was floored. 'Aaron's getting played by a chick, and he's not even fighting it. What's going on?' he thought.
Susanna hooked Aaron's chin, saying, "Is your name Sam?"
"No." Aaron squinted, confused by her question.
'So it wasn't him. Boring,' Susanna thought to herself.
"I've seen plenty of guys like you. If you're going to hit on me, come up with a better excuse next time, or you won't even get a second look!" She let go and said coolly, "Excuse me."
Since this guy wasn't Sam, the one behind him had to be.
Aaron quickly stepped aside, and she stood in front of Sam, saying, "Hello, Sam!"
The air instantly got chilly.
Aaron raised an eyebrow and looked back at Sam, his gaze turning icy.
Sam broke out in a cold sweat and stammered, "Umm, beauty, do you need something from me?"
"We met in the hall yesterday, remember?" Susanna looked at Sam. Was this her so-called ex-husband?
He was pretty handsome, but he didn't match her taste as well as Aaron did. Was her taste really that bad before?
"No." Sam swallowed hard. How could he forget this woman who looked exactly like Susanna? If it weren't for the huge personality difference, he'd think they were the same person.
Susanna's hand rested on Sam's shoulder. "That's right. No guy who meets me forgets me. How about a drink?" she said confidently.
As Susanna watched Sam's confused expression, she couldn't help but wonder, 'Weren't we married? Yesterday in the hall, they even stopped me.'
Sam felt his scalp tingle and quickly stood up, taking a few steps back, looking at Aaron with an innocent expression.
Aaron's gaze was deep.
Samantha Benjamin, standing nearby, finally couldn't hold back and said, "Nova, are you addicted to stealing men? I saw him first!"
Susanna heard the voice and knew Samantha had taken the bait.
She turned and flashed a sweet smile at Samantha. "He was into me. It's just a drink. Why make a big deal? You haven't even been with him yet. How can you claim him as yours?"
Samantha shot back, "You have no shame. Just because you've been around doesn't make you special, does it?"
Susanna curled her red lips and fired back, "At least I don't stoop as low as you, snatching Sam's daughter to manipulate a man. Now that, my dear, is rock bottom."
"What nonsense are you talking about? I didn't kidnap his daughter." Samantha felt a pang of guilt. She had done it, but Connor had covered it up and erased the surveillance footage. Even Sam couldn't find solid proof.
Susanna's gaze turned icy as she locked eyes with Sam again, a slight curl forming on her crimson lips. "Don't fall for Samantha's schemes," she said coolly. "She's so desperate for a man that she resorts to such manipulative tactics to try and control you."
As Sam caught Susanna's radiant smile, a shiver ran down his spine. Could she tone down that bright grin a bit? Aaron's piercing stare felt like it could cut through steel.
His mind went blank, and all he managed to say was a weak, "Sure."
Susanna's eyes flashed with impatience, and she continued, "Aren't you curious why a girl claiming to be your daughter would look for you?"
Sam swallowed hard before claiming, "I don't have an illegitimate daughter."
Susanna finally understood why Edward had kept Sam's details hidden from her.
Taking a few brisk steps back, she quickly grabbed a pen and paper from a nearby waiter's tray. Scribbling a phone number, she pressed a lipstick-stained kiss onto the paper before folding it neatly and slipping it into Sam's breast pocket. "Don't forget to reach out. Let's catch up over a drink sometime," she chirped.
Her smile beamed brightly, yet beneath it, her eyes remained veiled in complexity.
This was Radiant Valley, a place where the rules of engagement went beyond the ordinary constraints of legality.
Since this irresponsible douchebag Sam had come to her, she wouldn't be polite.
After saying that, Susanna caught Samantha trying to sneak away and knew she had to get Lillian's location from her.
As for why not ask Sam, he had just said he had no daughter, which showed he didn't care about Lillian and might not have even paid attention to her. The only person who could find Lillian was Samantha.
Susanna immediately turned and followed, the rhythmic click of her high heels echoing through the room. Her long legs peeked out from under her robe, a tantalizing sight that held a hint of allure with each stride.
Aaron furrowed his brow in a deep frown, a gnawing sense of unease creeping over him. His gut told him that every guy in the room had stolen glances at her alluring long legs.
Squirming with sudden discomfort, he pivoted towards Sam. "Hand it over!"
Sam quickly handed over the paper from his pocket and said, "Aaron, you have to believe I'm innocent. I met her for the first time yesterday, and I have no intentions towards her!"
"Didn't she give you her number? Not going to take the chance?" Aaron opened the paper and saw the lipstick mark, tugging at his tie, feeling inexplicably irritated.
However, as his gaze landed on the phone number, a flicker of recognition crossed his features. A memory from last night resurfaced, prompting him to refold the paper calmly before pouring himself a drink.
"So, who do you think she actually is?" he asked.
