Chapter 126 Aaron Gets More Depressed

Upon hearing Aaron's words, Susanna and Austin both paused for a moment, holding their breath.

She felt guilty.

Austin felt guilty too.

They both turned to look at Aaron, each with a hint of caution in their eyes.

Susanna watched as he walked towards her, stuttering, "Is there something wrong?"

Austin found Aaron's gaze towards Susanna unsettling; he didn't like the way he looked at her.

Aaron stopped and reached out his hand.

Susanna saw the SIM card in his hand and remembered that she had thought it was inserted incorrectly earlier. She was about to fix it when Austin approached, making her anxious about him finding out about her relationship with Aaron, so she hurriedly left.

Perhaps she was too hasty and forgot the uninserted card.
Susanna coughed. "Thank you." She was about to reach for it, but Austin was quicker to take that card from her, saying, "Susanna, why are you so careless? Keep the SIM card safe, and I'll help you replace it later."

Susanna nodded and touched her nose, then left the place with Austin.

Alone, Aaron stood still, recalling Austin's words and guessing that they had probably started living together.

He adjusted his tie, feeling inexplicably terrible!

He thought coming to buy a phone was a wrong decision!

After returning home, Susanna was surrounded by her brothers. "Susanna, what happened to your mouth?"

Susanna responded, "Nothing, just a little accident."

On the way, Susanna had already learned through Austin that they were frantic because they couldn't reach her.

Looking at her six brothers, she apologized, "I'm sorry for making you worry; I should have borrowed someone’s phone to let you know I was safe after broken my phone."

Edward, seeing her pitiful look, suddenly felt pity for her again, even though he had planned to teach his sister a lesson earlier. But now, he would let it go. Since she had apologized, he could only forgive her!

Edward still said with a poker face, "Don't let it happen again."

Susanna nodded obediently. "Sure, I promise!"

Aviana held her hand. "You don't need to promise so seriously. It's okay if you forget for a moment, but if you're in danger, remember to come back to us. With so many brothers at home, any one of us can stand up for you."

Susanna couldn't help but smile; she felt like she was dreaming with six brothers now.

Justin lay on the sofa. "Susanna, as long as you're okay. I've already figured out how to deal with your foster parents."

Susanna's eyes widened. "Justin, please don't do anything illegal."

Edward patted her shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll handle it."

Why did she feel more uneasy, hearing Edward’s words?

Susanna grabbed Edward's arm. "Edward, I know you want to avenge me, but find the right way. Don't do anything illegal."

Aviana noticed her worry and quickly reassured her. "Don't worry. Your brothers know how to play it cool. There are plenty of ways to make your foster parents' lives miserable. Isn't their son about to get married to his girlfriend? It wouldn't take much to stir things up a bit."

Susanna looked over. "What?"

Daniel said, "I asked a friend to investigate Maxwell and his girlfriend. The reason they are rushing to get married is that his girlfriend is pregnant. But the child is probably not his."

Susanna was stunned for a moment, then understood what was going on.

If her foster parents found out that Maxwell's girlfriend's child wasn't his, they would probably go crazy.

Thinking about it felt satisfying!

Susanna yawned; she was indeed tired after a busy day, and she was not feeling well in her stomach.

Austin noticed she wasn't feeling well and quickly changed the subject. "Let's have dinner. As long as you're back and safe, that's what matters."

Since her foster parents had already been dealt with, they probably wouldn't dare to come back.

After dinner, Susanna went back to her room to rest; she was truly exhausted.

The next day, she instinctively checked the news online when Susanna woke up, expecting to see news of Aaron and Erica's engagement.

After all, knowing Erica's tendency to show off, she would definitely post photos if they got engaged.

However, after refreshing several times, she found no news related to their engagement.

It was strange, why not?

It shouldn't be like this.

Perhaps Aaron wanted to keep it under wraps, just like their marriage. It seemed even Erica didn't hold the right to go public.
Susanna went straight to the studio for work. As soon as she sat down, Dick approached her. "Susanna, the final payment for the engagement ceremony came through yesterday. Let's have dinner together tonight."

Susanna's expression was forced. "Looks like the couple really liked my wedding design since they paid so promptly!"

Dick suddenly lowered his voice. "I'll tell you something in confidence. The engagement from yesterday didn't actually go through; it was canceled."

Susanna requested, "Canceled? Are you sure?"

Susanna couldn't believe that the engagement from yesterday was canceled.

"Susanna, why would I trick with you? Although we left that day, I contacted the hotel manager to coordinate the setup. It was the manager who told me this insider information that the engagement was indeed canceled." Dick responded.

Susanna was also surprised.

No wonder when she saw Aaron at the mall yesterday, she thought the engagement ended too quickly.

She didn't expect Aaron and Erica's engagement to be canceled. But didn't Erica threaten Aaron with the surgery matter before? Why did Aaron cancel the engagement now? What about Maria's surgery?

Susanna's thoughts were in disarray, and she was very worried about Maria's surgery!

Dick asked, "Susanna, what's wrong with you?"

"Nothing."

Susanna, shaking her head, still was very surprised by the canceled engagement from yesterday and couldn't understand why it was canceled.

In the afternoon, a middle-aged man came looking for her at the front desk, saying he was a relative from her hometown.

She didn't have any relatives left in her hometown.

Susanna walked to the door in confusion and saw a shabby middle-aged man. When he saw her, he excitedly grabbed her hand. "Darling, come back home with me."

Susanna was shocked. "Let go, you must have mistaken me for someone else."

"I haven't mistaken you. You're Susanna, right? Your foster parents married you off to me; I gave them five thousand. So now you're my wife." The middle-aged man said.
