Chapter 550 Crushing You Is as Easy as Crushing an Ant
Susanna raised an eyebrow and asked, "So, you think the Jones Family needs a whole month to deal with trash like you?"
Bruno tried to say something, but the security guards shut him up and dragged him out like a ragdoll.
Susanna looked around at the guests and said, "Sorry about that. But I hope today's investment banquet wasn't a total waste for you all."
Besides this final showdown, the earlier spat between Vivian and Elaine must've been quite the show for everyone.
Susanna's straightforward words eased the tension in the room.
After all, Susanna was from the Jones Family. If any other Jones had been here today, Bruno's fate would've been way worse.
Susanna continued, "Let's call it a day. If anyone's interested in collaborating, feel free to reach out to me."
"Ms. Jones, you're too kind. We all have high hopes for someone as young and capable as you."
Susanna smiled and nodded, then stood by the entrance to see off most of the guests.
She hadn't expected so many surprises at today's banquet.
Soon, most of the guests had left.
But Aaron stayed by her side, not leaving.
Those with sharp eyes didn't ask questions, knowing it was a private matter.
But many couldn't help but sigh inwardly. If Susanna's ex-husband was Aaron, then their own sons didn't stand a chance.
Owen walked up to Susanna and said politely, "Ms. Jones, about what happened earlier, I'll talk to the security department. Since the other party started it, we'll make sure to give you a satisfactory explanation."
Susanna's smile deepened, and she replied, "Thank you, Mr. Richardson."
"These are minor issues. After all, you're a good friend of Amelia's, so I have to help."
But Owen added, "However, Amelia's mom, Paige, hasn't been well lately. Amelia wants to throw a party for her, but The Velvet Sky Ballroom is fully booked. Could you arrange something, Ms. Jones?"
Amelia's smile froze when she heard this, "Dad, how could you?"
She thought that after today's events, Owen would see Vivian's true colors and realize that keeping her in the Richardson Family would bring no benefits.
But she hadn't expected Owen to still be worried about the party reservations, using Paige as an excuse. This clearly meant he still wanted to keep Vivian around.
Amelia's eyes were filled with sarcasm.
A dark look flashed in Susanna's eyes. She hadn't expected Owen to still want Vivian to adopt Ramond into the Richardson Family.
So Owen's earlier goodwill gesture was just a setup for this.
Susanna politely said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Richardson, you know our hotel's reservation policy. There's really no way to make adjustments. However, I heard you had previously booked a venue. Why not use that for the birthday party? I can personally design a birthday theme for Paige for free."
Did Owen really think a simple favor would make her change the hotel's reservations?
Even without Owen's so-called help, she could handle things herself. The Jones Family wasn't to be messed with in Novaria.
Owen's face darkened when Susanna refused, "Ms. Jones, our families have always had a good relationship. Are you really not going to do me this favor?"
Susanna asked, "Mr. Richardson, can't the venue you booked be used for a birthday party? Or is there something more important than your wife's birthday?"
Amelia stayed quiet, knowing Owen's real intention was to make Ramond publicly known.
When Owen wanted to push further, Aaron stepped in, "Mr. Richardson, please don't make things difficult."
Aaron's expression was clearly displeased. Susanna had made it clear she wouldn't adjust the reservation time due to personal connections.
Owen remembered Aaron's earlier display of force. He had always thought Aaron's success was due to his family, but today he saw Aaron's dangerous side, making him more cautious of Aaron.
In the end, Owen said nothing and left the banquet.
Vivian limped away, giving Aaron a long look, but Aaron's eyes were always on Susanna, ignoring everyone else.
She felt a pang of unhappiness. One day, she would make Aaron see that she was better than Susanna.
And the humiliation she suffered today would be avenged.
Amelia lagged behind and said to Susanna, "Thanks for today, Susanna. I'll treat you to a meal another day. I should go now."
After all, with Aaron here, she didn't want to be a third wheel.
"Alright, bye. Let's catch up another time." She thought she should tell Amelia about some things regarding Vivian.
She wouldn't let the woman who hurt her and almost killed her child go unpunished.
Soon, all the guests had left.
The banquet hall became quiet.
Susanna knew Aaron hadn't left but pretended not to notice while instructing her secretary about today's events. She believed someone had orchestrated things behind the scenes, allowing the acting general manager to act so brazenly.
She told her secretary to investigate thoroughly to protect the hotel's reputation.
The secretary nodded, "Understood. I'll investigate carefully and strengthen employee training."
"Also, with everything that went down today, make sure to sync up with the media on what to say and what to keep quiet, alright?" Susanna felt that with Vivian around, who knew what might happen.
She needed to be prepared.
The secretary looked up, "Ms. Jones, is there anything else?"
"There is, but I seem to have forgotten. Let me think."
The secretary thought to herself, 'Ms. Jones, are you avoiding Mr. Abbott?'
Susanna stood there thinking, and Aaron's footsteps approached.
His deep voice asked, "Are you having any problems?"
