Chapter 467 Revenge
Calum stared at Susanna like he'd just seen a ghost. He couldn't wrap his head around it.
He'd heard whispers about the Jones family's long-lost heir finally being found, but she was always so under the radar. No one really knew what she looked like.
In Philly, Calum's status was nowhere near the Jones family's league, so he never had a shot at meeting this mysterious heir.
In his mind, Susanna was just some chick who got booted out by the Abbott family.
But now, outta nowhere, Susanna was the Jones family's heir!
Calum felt like he'd been sucker-punched by life. The gap between him and Susanna was like night and day.
Feeling humiliated, Calum spat out, "So what if you're the Jones heir? You're still married into the Abbott family. Show some respect."
Before he could finish, Susanna's secretary smacked him hard. "Disrespect Ms. Jones again, and I'll make sure you regret it."
Calum was left reeling, too stunned to fight back, muttering curses and threats under his breath.
Susanna couldn't care less about Calum.
Just then, a bunch of guys in suits walked in and headed straight for Kayle and Roman. "We're lawyers from the Jones Law Firm. These are lawsuits against the Thornberry family for trashing the Jones family's rep."
"And by the way, the Jones Group's acquisition team is already moving in on Thornberry Corporation. They'll be at your office tomorrow. Sign the papers now, or you'll get nothing and face legal action."
Roman and Kayle went white as sheets.
Susanna wasn't shocked at all. She knew Edward had been planning to take down the Thornberry family. Their bankruptcy was just a matter of time.
Kayle could barely stand. "Roman, what do we do? Are we really going bankrupt?"
Roman slumped to the floor. "It's over. We're done."
Panicking, Kayle ran to Susanna. "Ms. Jones, this is all our fault. Please, don't hold it against us. Forgive us."
"Ms. Jones, what can we do to make this right?"
The rest of the Thornberry family rushed over too. "Yeah, Ms. Jones, please don't hold it against us."
"Ms. Jones, if you ruin our whole family, it won't look good for the Jones family either."
Seeing the Thornberry family bawling on the floor, trying to guilt-trip her, Susanna's face stayed stone-cold, though she felt like laughing inside.
She glanced at her secretary. "They here yet?"
The secretary nodded. "Yep, they're here."
Susanna looked towards the lobby, where three fierce-looking women stormed in.
Seeing them, Susanna smirked. "Debt collectors are here. Don't come crying to me."
Kayle's face went pale when she saw who they were. "What are you doing here? You don't belong at an event like this."
The three women marched over and slapped Kayle around.
"Think the Thornberry family is hot stuff now? You're about to go bankrupt."
"Yeah, you pissed off the Jones and Abbott families. You think you got a way out?"
"You ruined my company, and my dad couldn't handle it and jumped off a building. I never forgot that."
Kayle got surrounded and beaten by the three women, while Susanna just watched.
She turned to the reporters nearby. "No need to air this dirty laundry. Just report the essentials."
The reporters were stunned by the chaos, but they nodded.
Susanna's secretary added with a grin, "We'll review all your press releases first. I've already cleared it with your bosses."
The reporters nodded again.
Roman saw Kayle getting thrashed and tried to jump in, but the three women had backup. Kayle and Roman got pinned down and beaten, ending up a mess.
Seeing the Thornberry family in shambles, Susanna put on her sunglasses and turned away. "Alright, show's over. Let's roll."
The Jones family's lawyers were there, so she needed to bounce.
Aaron, however, trailed after her. "Dinner tonight?"
"Nope, heading home for dinner."
Susanna looked at Aaron, who wouldn't quit. "You should deal with Calum. He got smacked around and will definitely whine to your mom."
Maud wouldn't let it slide.
"Doesn't matter."
Aaron grabbed her wrist, stopping her.
The legal team nearby saw this and rushed over.
The lead lawyer said, "Sir, you're harassing Ms. Jones. Let go now, or you'll get a legal notice."
Several lawyers surrounded him.
Sam quickly stepped in. "It's a misunderstanding. He's Ms. Jones's ex-husband, not some random guy."
The lead lawyer replied coldly, "Mr. Edward specifically said Abbott family members should stay away from Ms. Jones."
