Chapter 405 Personally Watching Vivian Kneel and Beg for Mercy
Susanna shot Aaron a look, waiting to see what he'd spill next. She was dying to know whose kid Ramond really was.
Vivian jumped in quick, "Look, no matter what, Ramond's still got Abbott blood. Aaron, you swore you'd keep this secret."
Aaron frowned, glancing at Maud. "She's right. Even if Ramond ain't my kid, he's still part of the Abbott clan."
"Aaron, you're losing me here. You say Ramond's part of the family, but whose kid is he? Spill it."
She couldn't keep being all nice to someone with a sketchy background, wasting her feelings.
Aaron went quiet for a sec, then said, "That's not the main thing right now."
Susanna stepped up, "Yeah, it doesn't matter whose kid Ramond is. The big deal now is sorting out this bone marrow mess."
Maud sighed, "Didn't you already get the bone marrow? What more do you want?"
If Nova wasn't Susanna, Maud wouldn't let this slide.
"We gotta do this by the book. One of you has to own up."
Maud looked at Aaron, "Aaron, what's going on?"
"Mom, this is what I need to tell you. When you mess with people, you gotta face the music. One of you has to take the fall."
"What if we don't wanna own up?"
Susanna's eyes were icy as she stared at Maud. "Then you both pay. I'm letting one of you off out of respect for Aaron, so be thankful."
Seeing Aaron's firm stance, Maud quickly said, "Actually, this was all Vivian's idea. She kept saying you were trouble and worried you'd back out, so she made me do it."
Vivian snapped back, "Aunt Maud! You were the one freaking out that Nova wouldn't keep her word and asked me for help. I just made a suggestion. You arranged everything. How could I have the power to steal bone marrow?"
Vivian wasn't about to take the fall for Maud.
Maud's face went cold. "Vivian, what are you saying? You pushed me into this. Now you want me to take the blame?"
Vivian turned to Aaron. "Ramond's still young; he needs me."
Maud cut in, "Vivian, Aaron only said he'd take care of Ramond, not you. Even if you're not around, I can still raise him. Don't worry."
Panic hit Vivian; she didn't want to end up in jail.
But Vivian never thought that once the truth was out, Aaron wouldn't protect her just because of Ramond.
Vivian shot back, "Aaron, I've got proof Aunt Maud planned all this, including recordings. I can show this has nothing to do with me."
Since Maud was being so ruthless, Vivian wasn't about to stay loyal either.
Susanna raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Well, if you can provide evidence, that'd be even better."
Maud freaked out and grabbed Vivian's hair. "You little snake, how dare you frame me? What evidence do you have?"
Vivian smirked, "Aunt Maud, why so mad?"
"Don't call me Aunt Maud. You came crawling to me, trying to marry into the Abbott family. Let me tell you, with your lowly status, you think you can marry Aaron? No way. Now you wanna frame me? Over my dead body!"
Vivian, wincing in pain, fought back. "You should be the one to die. Let go of me. This was all your doing, nothing to do with me. Even at the police station, I'll say the same. Think you can get away with it?"
"You little witch, you dare talk at the police station? I'll shut you up for good!"
Susanna didn't expect Vivian and Maud to start brawling and cussing each other out!
Aaron's face turned ice-cold as he yelled, "Enough! Cut it out, both of you."
The bodyguards stepped in, pulling Vivian and Maud apart.
Maud clung to Aaron's arm. "Aaron, this really isn't my fault. Vivian tricked me. She was jealous of you and Susanna and wanted to mess things up between you two, steal the bone marrow, and kill your daughter. No, she wanted to kill the Abbott family's child! It's all Vivian's doing!"
Aaron stared at Vivian. "What do you have to say now?"
Vivian, looking a mess but with a mocking glint in her eyes, said, "What can I say? Have any of you rich folks ever treated me like a person? You used me and then tossed me aside like garbage!"
Maud sneered, "You are garbage. You're nothing to Susanna!"
Hearing Maud praise her, Susanna's eyes flashed with sarcasm.
Yeah, Maud and Elaine were cut from the same cloth.
Aaron frowned. "Vivian, I warned you not to play these games, but you didn't listen and even messed with the bone marrow. You almost killed my daughter. That's my line."
"So what?"
Aaron's voice was cold. "I hope this lesson makes you change your ways and stop scheming against others."
Vivian, still defiant, said, "But I have evidence. You can't pin this on me alone. I'm not taking the fall by myself!"
Seeing this, Maud stepped up and glared at Vivian. "Don't forget, we still have Ramond. If you keep quiet at the police station, I promise to take good care of Ramond, just like before. But if you step out of line, I can't promise anything."
Vivian looked to Aaron for help. "Aaron."
