Chapter 319 The Mean Susanna

Susanna didn't see it coming that someone would have the guts to talk to her like that.

While Lysander was yapping, he kept fiddling with his watch, like it was some kind of precious gem. A fake watch, treated like gold?

Susanna shot him a look and snapped, "Why should I even consider it?"

"Miss, I know it's tough raising a kid on your own. How about this? I'll throw some cash your way, alright?" Lysander suggested.

"Honey, why are we giving her money? Are you saying that just 'cause you think she's hot, you're gonna start your old tricks again?" Thalia fumed, stepping up and glaring at Susanna. "Why are you whispering with my husband? Trying to steal him? No way! And if you can't afford it, don't come to places like this. This isn't for people like you."

Susanna smirked, raising an eyebrow. "Look at your husband, he looks like a total slob. Who'd want him? Only you would settle for that."

"Wearing fur in this blazing heat, you really think you're some kind of socialite? Decked out in animal skins, don't you have nightmares at night?" Susanna's words cut like a knife.

Thalia had never been so humiliated, especially in front of a crowd that included acquaintances and friends. Overwhelmed by embarrassment, she couldn't contain herself and raised her hand to smack Susanna. "You brat, what the hell are you talking about?"

When Susanna saw Thalia making the first move, a glint of light flashed in her eyes. If she fought back, it would be considered self-defense. After all, she had to set a good example for Lillian!

But in a flash, a pair of hands stopped Thalia's arm mid-air. Aaron stared coldly at Thalia. "Dare to hit her? You're not even close to being qualified!"

With a decisive shove, he pushed Thalia away, causing her to stumble and fall to the ground, looking utterly defeated.

Susanna turned to look at Aaron in front of her, staring at his mature and resolute jawline. Something seemed to flash in her mind, a familiar feeling that she couldn't quite grasp!

Had she met this man before? But she couldn't seem to remember.

Lillian, in her arms, looked up and saw Aaron, her face lighting up with joy. "So cool!"

Lillian's sweet voice seemed to land on Aaron's heart, gently tapping it, instantly lifting his spirits! He reached out and patted her little head. "Did you have fun?"

"Yes, the Bodyguard helped me win lots and lots of prizes."

The bodyguard, still sitting on the ground resting, gave a tired smile. Seeing Lillian so happy made him feel content inside.

Aaron glanced at the bodyguard, questioning, "Couldn't get through to your phone."

The bodyguard quickly stood up and respectfully explained, "My phone accidentally fell into the water just now."

Lillian quickly added, "It fell in while he was catching fish for me."

Upon hearing this, Aaron gestured casually to the bodyguard, signaling for him to step aside. Ultimately, he chose to let it go, observing Lillian's joy and deciding it wasn't worth pursuing further.

Susanna held Lillian's hand. "Let's go back first, I have something to tell you," she said softly.

"Stop! Who said you could leave?" Behind them came Lysander's angry voice. He was holding the broken pieces of a bracelet. "You broke my wife's bracelet, and you think you can just walk away?"

Thalia, limping, got up and added, "This bracelet is worth tens of thousands of dollars. You must compensate us, or I'll call the police."

Susanna glanced at the broken bracelet. "Are knock-offs really going for tens of thousands these days?"

Thalia huffed, "Nonsense! This was an anniversary gift from my husband, bought from the famous brand store Dreamy Delights Depot. It can't be fake!"

As Susanna heard "Dreamy Delights Depot," a lightbulb went off. That was her store. She didn't want to get involved at first, but the thought of her store being linked to fakes got her fired up. That kind of rep could tank her business.

She asked calmly, "All items from Dreamy Delights Depot come with certificates. Are you sure your husband bought it from there?"

Lysander's eyes flickered with doubt, but he quickly said, "Yeah, I bought it and it came with a certificate. It's genuine, no way it's fake!"

"Honey, show the certificate to prove it's legit!" Thalia urged.

Lysander pulled up an electronic certificate on his phone.

Susanna glanced at it, memorized the certificate number, and shot it over to Abel to check it out.

Thalia smirked. "Well, got nothing to say now? Pay up!"

Susanna's lips curled into a cold smile. "Jewelry from Dreamy Delights Depot has unique ID markers. This jade bracelet has a special mark inside, visible with a magnifying glass."

Thalia, full of herself, shot back, "Go ahead, check it. Think I'm scared?"

But Lysander looked a bit nervous and quickly said, "But there's no magnifying glass here, the certificate should be enough."

Just then, an old man stood up. "I have a magnifying glass, you can use it," he offered.

Lillian, with her sweet demeanor, looked over and softly said, "Thank you."

"You're welcome, happy to help."

Susanna took the magnifying glass and examined the broken bracelet, but there was nothing.

Thalia was stunned, but Lysander quickly said, "You claim there's an ID mark, but how do we know you're not making it up?"

Susanna looked around. "Does anyone here have a bracelet from Dreamy Delights Depot? I'd like to borrow it for a moment."

"I do!" A woman eagerly offered her bracelet, and Susanna used the same method. Like magic, a distinctive mark appeared. The room fell silent, everyone staring in disbelief at the proof.

Susanna returned the bracelet and said, "This mark should be the last three digits of the certificate number."

"Yes, that's exactly it."

Susanna then looked at Lysander and Thalia. "Well then, what do you have to say now?"

Thalia was confused. "Honey, did you buy a fake? Where did you get it?"

Lysander still tried to argue. "I bought it from Dreamy Delights Depot, it came with a certificate, how could it be fake? You all saw me confirm it just now."

Thalia, having seen the verification too, quickly added, "It must be Dreamy Delights Depot selling fakes!"

"Impossible, Dreamy Delights Depot doesn't sell fakes," Susanna countered firmly, locking eyes with Thalia. "As for why this bracelet is fake, you should ask your husband. Who did he give the real bracelet to?"

Lysander immediately shouted, "I didn't swap it out, I swear! Are you gonna believe an outsider over me?"

Just then, Susanna got a video from Taylor showing the purchase. A sly smile crept onto her face. "Would you like to see the surveillance video of your bracelet purchase at the mall?"
