Chapter 211 After the Divorce, I Became the Richest Woman
Susanna heard Erica's heart-wrenching voice in her ear, and the scene in front of her felt almost unreal.
After a moment, Aaron stopped, looked down at Susanna's stunned face, and chuckled, "I think this explanation is more convincing!"
Susanna glared at his handsome features up close, gritted her teeth, and raised her hand to hit him.
But Aaron grabbed her wrist, his palm warm. With a gentle yet firm grip, he pulled her into his arms, lifted her chin with his fingers, and in a deep voice, asked, "Feel like hitting me?"
Susanna snapped, "What else?"
"Go ahead." Aaron let go of her hand, his eyes glinting with a challenge.
Susanna's hand froze mid-air, and she gritted her teeth. "You jerk!"
'How dare he threaten me!' she fumed inwardly.
Aaron lowered his head slightly, a smile playing on his lips, clearly amused.
Just then, Erica, unwilling to be ignored, stepped forward with tears in her eyes and looked at Aaron. "Aaron, how can you do this? Did Susanna just mess with you on purpose?"
Erica never expected Aaron to kiss a woman willingly.
He was always so cold and disciplined, keeping every woman at a distance..
But here he was, holding Susanna's face and kissing her, his actions gentle and his gaze intense.
The sight drove Erica mad with jealousy.
Why did Susanna deserve such treatment from Aaron? She was supposed to be the one above everyone else. How was she inferior to Susanna, an orphan?
Susanna glanced at Erica's heartbroken expression, feeling no sympathy, and even found it a bit amusing.
Seeing Erica like this reminded her of her past self, humbling herself for Aaron's love.
'Once a woman wakes up, what value does a man hold?' Susanna thought to herself.
Aaron's expression towards Erica was extremely indifferent, even a bit annoyed that their kiss had been interrupted. With a cold and handsome face, he asked, "What are you doing here?"
Susanna was surprised. Erica was too shocked to cry, probably not expecting Aaron to respond like this. To be honest, she hadn't expected it either.
Erica was so angry she couldn't speak, tears streaming down her face, looking pitiful as if she had been abandoned.
Unable to bear it any longer, Susanna spun around, grabbed her canvas bag, and made to leave. But Erica, unable to contain her anger, grabbed her arm. "Don't leave. Explain what's happening here," she demanded.
"Let go!"
Susanna hated being interrogated like this. In the midst of their struggle, her canvas bag fell to the ground, scattering its contents everywhere.
Among them, a thick document landed right at Erica's feet.
The first page of the document read— "Divorce Agreement and Property Division Agreement."
Susanna only remembered the document when she saw it on the floor. As she bent to retrieve it, Erica was quicker, snatching the divorce papers first.
Seeing the document in her hand, Erica flashed a triumphant smile. "Susanna, no matter how you pretend, you're still getting divorced. Trying to mess with Aaron again, huh?"
With Maria's surgery done, it was only a matter of time before Susanna and Aaron split.
Susanna caught sight of Erica's smug expression and felt a twinge of unease. She quipped, "Erica, you haven't even finished reading it. Don't forget to check the property part. I'm about to be the richest lady in town. What's a guy worth, anyway?"
Erica, unwilling to believe it, turned to the property division section and was stunned to see the first item—"The husband transfers all his shares to the wife."
Erica sneered, "Susanna, you're dreaming. Aaron would never agree to such terms!"
If Aaron transferred all the Abbott family shares to Susanna, he'd be left with nothing.
Susanna crossed her arms, "Sorry, Aaron has already signed, which means he agreed to these divorce terms."
"Impossible!"
Erica flipped to the last page and indeed saw Aaron's signature. She almost blacked out and hurriedly showed the document to Aaron. "Aaron, did you really sign this? Could it be a forged signature, or did Susanna trick you?"
Aaron glanced at the document and nodded. "Yes, I signed it."
"Aaron, how could you be so foolish? Do you know what this means?" Erica asked, incredulous.
She couldn't believe Aaron had really signed it!
He was giving up everything!
If Erica married into the Abbott family in the future, she would have nothing. How could this be? Everything in the Abbott family should be hers, not Susanna's!
Susanna turned her gaze towards Aaron, anticipating his response, as Erica's question mirrored the one she had been meaning to ask all along.
But earlier, Aaron had acted so strangely that Susanna couldn't ask and was even forcibly kissed.
Aaron stood up straight and answered nonchalantly, "It's none of your business."
Erica was so angry she could hardly breathe.
Hearing this answer, Susanna was also speechless, silently scolding, 'Is Aaron out of his mind?'
Aaron glanced at the divorce document in Erica's hand. "Give it back to Susanna."
Susanna didn't really want it, but seeing Erica's gritted teeth, she deliberately walked up to Erica and said with a fake smile, "Ms. Jones, please give it back. This document is quite valuable."
Erica reached out to grab it, but she held on tight. "What's the big deal? The signature isn't even finished."
Susanna raised an eyebrow, stating, "Thanks for your reminder. I'll take it back and sign it, then it will be effective. I'll become the richest woman, and I'll invite you both to my celebration party."
Susanna deliberately said this to provoke Erica with every word.
Erica harbored the desire to marry into the Abbott family. Now that Aaron was about to be left with nothing, would Erica still want to marry him?
Staring at the divorce document before her, Erica refused to let Susanna win. She couldn't bear the thought of the Abbott family's assets slipping into Susanna's grasp!
Seeing Erica's ugly expression, Susanna took the divorce document forcefully. "Sorry, Ms. Jones, please let go."
Almost instantly, Erica snatched the document and tore it to pieces.
