Chapter 132 Reap What You Sow
Susanna saw the intense battle they were fighting, insulting each other and saying many nasty things, her tears almost coming out of her eyes from laughing.
It served them right.
Susanna looked at Maxwell. "You better get that five thousand dollars back, or else your whole family will suffer. The five thousand is the ironclad evidence of your human trafficking."
Maxwell was also shocked, mainly because he still couldn't believe that the child was not his. Had it not been for the child, he wouldn't have been in such a hurry to get married.
Maxwell grabbed Emily. "Give me the money!"
At this moment, a person in uniform walked in. "Who is Maxwell?"
Susanna spoke up first as she pointed at Maxwell. "He is Maxwell, but they took the five thousand dollars in stolen money."
Emily's face turned pale. "You can't arrest me. Do you know whose child is in my belly? It's the CEO of SummitTech Enterprises."
Maxwell sadly exclaimed, "The CEO's granddaughter is about the same age as you. How are you willing to have a sexual relationship with such an old man?"
Emily retorted, "Do you think I would be willing to have a sexual relationship with a poor guy like you? If I wasn't desperate to find a father for the child, how could I be with you? Five thousand dollars is such a large sum of money for you."
Emily's mother also said in disdain, "Exactly, your are so poor. Are you worthy of my daughter? You should be grateful that my daughter is willing to marry you. So what if the child is not yours?"
Maxwell seemed to be struck by the truth, turned around and went straight to the window to jump. "I can't take it anymore!"
Grace saw Maxwell about to jump and rushed over screaming, "Maxwell, don't be impulsive. It's not worth it for this bitch."
Emily's mother nearby said unhappily, "Who are you calling a bitch?"
Grace went straight to Emily, pressing her down and hitting her. "You bitch! how dare you deceive my son."
Emily was soon beaten beyond recognition, but there was red blood under her, looking like a miscarriage.
Susanna saw this and quickly said, "Emily is pregnant."
The scene immediately descended into chaos.
Austin grabbed her hand. "Susanna, stay aside and don't get involved."
Susanna took several steps back, after all, she was pregnant now too.
She never expected it to end up like this.
Soon Emily was taken to the emergency room, as Grace and Maxwell were arrested on suspicion of human trafficking.
At this point, Grace looked at her and said, "Susanna, we were also deceived by that despicable woman. Why don't you just have Emily return the money to you? Why do you have to be so ruthless?"
Susanna, with a cold face, looked directly at the person in uniform. "Officer, I don't know them. I will just follow your lead."
She could never forgive Grace and Andrew, absolutely no way!
Soon after Grace and Maxwell were taken away, the ward finally returned to quiet.
Not long after, Austin returned to the ward. "Emily's child didn't make it, and she won't have any children in the future."
"It's understandable, after all, Emily had multiple abortions before."
Susanna touched her belly and looked at Austin. "Austin, how is Dick now? He was injured trying to protect me."
"His head had been hit to minor concussion, but nothing serious. He's in the hospital ward now. He was barely qualified as he helped out and got hurt,"Austin replied.
"Austin, it's not what you think. Besides, I have a child, no man would accept me in this situation,"Susanna expalained.
Austin frowned his browns. "Susanna, don't feel inferior because of the child. It's no big deal, you have us."
He even thought Dick was not worthy of Susanna.
Susanna didn't argue with Austin about this matter, she went to the hospital ward to see Dick, but there was a middle-aged woman in the ward, who should be Dick's mother.
She felt guilty. "Dick, how are you feeling now?"
"Susanna, are you okay? I was really worried, afraid that something might happen to you."Dick smiled when he saw Susanna, with white gauze wrapped around his head.
Harper Johnson quickly supported Dick. "Be careful. The doctor said you can't move around with a concussion, or it will affect your recovery. Susanna seems fine, but you are seriously injured."
"Mom, please don't say that. I've already explained the situation to you, haven't I? Susanna, don't pay attention to what my mom said. As long as you're okay, I'm relieved." Dick defensed Susanna.
Susanna glanced at Harper. "Aunt Harper, I'm sorry for what happened to Dick. It's all my fault."
"You know, my son has always been treated like a prince, never had such a serious injury, let alone a brain injury. How could he do if there are any consequences in the future?" Harper was clearly unhappy.
Susanna took a deep breath and replied, "Dick got hurt because of me, if there are any consequences in the future, I will take responsibility."
Harper was somewhat satisfied. "Mrs. Miller, don't blame me for speaking harshly just now, after all, he was raised so well. If he suffers any harm, how can I face his deceased father?"
Susanna quickly comforted her, "Aunt Harper, You don't have to apologize. I understand your concern for your child."
"Mrs. Miller, you are a sensible and kind child who knows how to repay kindness." She held Susanna's hand, and Susanna couldn't take her hand back, so she had to sit there with a stiff smile.
"Mrs. Miller, I heard you work at my son's studio and have won some big awards. My son often praises you in front of me."Harper continued to praise Susanna.
Susanna smiled awkwardly. "He was just speaking well of me. I have also caused Dick a lot of trouble, and he has been very tolerant of me."
"I know him. He has always been kind-hearted and good to people. Mrs. Miller, what do you think of my son?"Harper asked directly.
Susanna blinked. "He's great."
Harper agreed with what Susanna said. "Right, my son has been outstanding since he was young. There are many girls admiring him. When he was in high school, he often received love letters."
Dick interrupted, "Mom, stop embarrassing me."
