Chapter 445 Engagement?

Susanna heard the voice on the other end and froze for a sec before saying, "Sam, is that you?"

Even though she had lost her memory before, she had met Sam in Radiant Valley and almost thought he was Aaron, only to find out later it was a mix-up.

"Yeah, it's me. I heard Aaron went to Novaria with you and then just vanished. Poof. Later, I got in touch with Aaron's assistant, who said they got chewed out by your brother in Novaria and went into hiding. Aaron then completely disappeared."

Sam sounded pretty worked up; he'd been stressing for days.

Susanna, confused, asked, "Aaron's assistant is still in Novaria?"

She remembered sending all of Aaron's crew back to Lindwell.

Daniel had detained Aaron's people, and to avoid any more drama, she had secretly sent them away. Daniel didn't make a big deal out of it.

Sam went on, "A few days ago, I saw some rumors online. That bodyguard with the shades looks just like Aaron, so I had to call and ask if Aaron is that bodyguard?"

Sam had thought once Aaron insisted on going to Novaria, it wouldn't be long before he could win Susanna over.

But he didn't expect the Jones family to be so hardcore. Aaron got beat up on his first day at the airport, and the bodyguards and Tyler were all snatched by them and sent back to Lindwell.

Aaron lost contact then, and no one could reach him.

Sam had been worried sick and even came to Novaria, only to find a clue in Susanna's scandalous news.

After being friends with Aaron for over a decade, he could picture Aaron perfectly. One look, and he knew the bodyguard was Aaron.

Susanna nodded, "Yeah, that bodyguard is him."

"Thank God, I can finally chill knowing Aaron's with you. We've been looking for him forever and thought your brother might've killed him. Didn't expect him to still be kicking."

"Since you're already in Novaria, you should go to the Jones Group's private hospital to pick him up. He should be there now."

"What? Aaron's in the hospital? Is he hurt? How bad is it?"

Susanna replied calmly, "He's a bit hurt, but he insisted on staying. He’s bound to get roughed up by my brothers whenever they see him, but that's his call. He'll be fine, so don't stress."

She wouldn't let her brothers become killers, no matter what.

Plus, even though Aaron was a jerk, he was still Charles and Lillian's dad. She didn't want them to lose their father so soon.

Aaron still had some use.

"As long as he's alive, I'm good. I'll head to the hospital right now. Are you there?"

"I got discharged today, so I'm not there. Once you find him, take him back right away. Don't hang around Novaria. If Edward finds out he's still here, I can't promise what'll happen next."

With that, Susanna hung up.

She had made herself clear, and Sam should get it. Best to go to the hospital, grab Aaron, and get out of Novaria to avoid more trouble.

She wouldn't need to set up a meeting between Aaron and Lillian at the hospital tomorrow.

Michael glanced at Susanna and asked, "Edward doesn't know Aaron's with you, right?"

Susanna quickly nodded, "Yeah, Aviana knows, but I told her to keep it from Edward for now. You know how he is. If he finds out Aaron's here, things could get ugly."

Susanna knew Edward was good to her, but his temper was a ticking time bomb. She didn't want any trouble.

Michael said, "Got it."

Susanna looked at him, "So when you go to dinner later, keep it zipped. Help me keep this under wraps."

Michael nodded, "No problem."

Susanna sighed in relief and headed back to the Jones Villa with Michael.

"Ms. Jones is back."

As soon as she walked in, the servants started announcing her arrival.

She strolled into the fancy hall, and soon Aviana came out of the dining room.

"Susanna, you're back. I made your favorite soup myself. Have some more later."

Susanna held Aviana's hand, "Aviana, you haven't cooked in years. I'll definitely have more later."

Aviana smiled, "Michael's here too. Join us for dinner. It's been a while since you ate with us."

Michael replied respectfully, "I've been swamped with work lately."

Soon, the food was served, and Edward and Arthur also showed up.

The other brothers were either working or, like Austin, too busy to come back for dinner, so it was just a few of them.

Edward looked at Susanna with concern, "Is your head injury better?"

Susanna nodded guiltily, "It's much better. Austin said it's just a mild concussion, nothing serious. A few days of rest at home will do the trick."

Edward personally checked Susanna's head and, seeing she was fine, he relaxed, "As long as you're okay."

The next second, Edward's tone turned icy, "Don't worry, Susanna. I'll make sure the Thornberry family regrets what they did. They dared to hurt you; I'll make sure they go bankrupt in Novaria."

Hearing Edward's fierce words, Susanna smiled, "Thanks, Edward."

Arthur coldly added, "You're the princess of our family. If the Thornberry family dares to mess with you, we have to teach them a lesson. Otherwise, they'll think the Jones family has no one to protect you."

Seeing her brothers so protective, Susanna felt warm inside. It was good to have someone who cared.

As an orphan, she had lived alone, looked down upon, and bullied without daring to fight back because she had no family to support her.

Now she had found her biological brothers and had a family that loved her. She had everything she needed now.

The Thornberry family members were too arrogant; they should have faced the consequences of hitting her!

After all, her brothers were known for doting on her, so she thought the Thornberry family were all idiots. She didn't know which idiot from the Abbott family wanted to cooperate with the Thornberry family.

After dinner.

Edward suddenly looked at Michael, "You've been single for so many years. Doesn't your family bug you to get married?"

Michael paused, glanced at Susanna, and didn't know how to answer.

Arthur suddenly said, "Didn't we and the Browns have an arranged marriage before?"
